If you're seriously leaving because we're upgrading our forum version, then... I don't know what to say.

 

It not just that...
There's been waaaay too much changes this July, as much as I love KHV I'm not going through the Pain vB4 is...

You guys will probably realize that soon enough I guess... ;-;

Man, it feels awful to whine. u_u

 

So will the forum layout change again? It took me a while to get used to this layout.

Remember last time that happened and people where complaining that they went blind?

Problem with that if there's anew update, we're probably going to need one, there's not much of a point asking. Besides a change is always good, though I've never seen vB4 to make an opinion yet.

Yeah there's changes, like any community KHV will undergo changes from time to time. It usually takes place during the summer because let's face it, that's when people have the most time.
Yes, we're aware that vB4 may be buggy. But in time that will be fixed, mods and updates will be released to make it less of a hassle. On the version we're on, we're more or less obsolete.
You know how hard it is to mod sometimes because the site has a hiccup, and there's sometimes nothing we can do to fix it because support for our version is disappearing?

Honestly guys, be happy that spdude is actually DOING something for us.
Unless you'd like to stay on an outdated, unsupportable forum, just go with the change. It's affecting EVERYONE, not just the normal members. It's something we all have to get used to, but sometimes change is necessary to make our site better. And in the end, isn't that what we want? An up-to-date community for fans? :/

@ Crumpet - The layout will change slightly, it will not be exactly the same as what we have now, but from what I can tell it's not all that different.

 

Oh wow, people always manage to whine about something, even when it is positive (if the new version is buggy or not). Just go with it and accept change. Seriously you have been like "I want a new skin I want new other things" But when we get something new you are like 'eff no'.

That is ugly. No offense.

The problem is not the sudden changes nor is KHV, the problem's me...
I can't take changes, it's my major problem IRL, so sorry If I offended anyone here, more over my friends, sorry guys, I'll give it a go before departing.

I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords vBulletin board change with open arms, regardless of any bugs or whatnot. Perhaps it is more out of morbid curiosity.

As for the aforementioned plugins, are there any possible preemptive examples of such content? I would assume the blogs are one as such.

It is understandable, good sir. If, indeed, you do decide to leave, I may at least hope you visit our upgraded forum from time to time - indeed, perhaps if you do find it appropriate you may return? Regardless, I shall respect your decision and wish you the best.

If you put up with it for a while, you will get used to it eventually, same with everything.

No matter what glitches happen to the site, it can't be worse than getting a database error every five seconds and we managed to overcome that without freaking out and abandoning KHV.

It's going to be okay, folks.

 

How did you get spdude to upgrade?

Well lemme see. At new year in '07, it was shut down for like ... a day? When we up'd to v3 of KHV. So it shouldn't take mich longer than a day.

Also, Alex, I've always had respect for you but, c'mon. They're only upgrading vB. I know a lot of change has happened this Summer, but it has all been good change. People have moved on from being Staff members who didn't wnat to be, to be replaced with people who want to do the job. Also, this update and the person at the Glossary and at the Media section, may be the boost KH-V needs to get it back on top of the KH Media world, maybe even to the likes of 2007. Who knows what might happen?

Will all the threads stay? Or will you have to import everything from this version to the new one? Also, VMs?

 

Fairly soon, hopefully within the next few days.

I believe they will, since threads from before our last update (2007) are still here.
And I'm pretty sure the VM system will still be available, but I am not sure about the existing VMs. Chances are they'll stay, but don't quote me on that.

So please guys pardon my previous behavior, it isn't like me at all, I guess I was having a really bad day and that boosted my hate towards vB4 (Yes, I don't like it as I previously said...)

I'm sure you guys will make it work perfectly, and If anything bad happens there's still the possibility to downgrade again right? :/

Great news everyone! Everything about this upgrade is good.

 

Interesting indeed. i just hope we're getting an eco friendly skin, which means dark colours. Hopefully it won't be as milky as the 2007 was XD
