This thread is for all the Card Games out there. Magic the Gathering, Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, Naruto, WoW, Kingdom hearts, etc etc. Tell us about what games you play, if you play competitive or for fun, what decks you run, how you got into the game etc etc etc again.

The Card games I play now are Naruto, and getting back into pokemon. I'm only going to run one Pokemon deck when i get it complete and it's going to be actual fighting pokemon, not pokemon that use fighting energy, but fighting; hitmonchan, sawk, thorw, lee, hariyama, timburrs and evo's and the like. And were about to start our tournaments for it here where I live.

I run several Naruto decks. My main deck that I run is my puppets. It started as a sand deck, and I've been running a sand deck since I've been playing this game which is pretty close to the beginning. I also have a discard/ no hand water deck, earth/wind/water control deck, and a wind/water deck.

I used to play Magic and Yugioh. The decks I ran in Magic were both swarming. One was a elf deck that dealth billion, littiral billion damage, and a red goblin deck. In Yugioh I never had a main deck, i was always building, taking apart and re-building decks to my liking, or to a new theme.

I also play another, probably my most favorite, is VS system. If you haven't heard of it, it's basically DC/Marvel/ Dark horse comic characters. It's a really great game, I love playing. I have a few decks for it. They no longer print the cards for it, game is no being made :( so if you have some, come across them, they might be collectible one day, and you should get them and send to me on my birthday :) .

I was very into Yu-Gi-Oh! for a little while. I was young and I couldn't really afford cards, though, so I dealt with the occasional packs I got from the store, or my friends' unwanted cards. I played it a lot, but once it started getting complicated (with cards like "You must have _____ card on the field, ______ card in your hand, ______ in your graveyard in order to use this card") I lost interest. I still have all my old cards, though.

Yeah, thats why I got out of it. It became "if you had the money, you won". The game now is if you have the money, you can get cards, build deck, win turn one. I hate that. I atleast want a chance at winning. Thats why I play games that you can't win turn one, you can get set up to win, but your oppenent has that chance of stopping it atleast.

I'm a bit of a recurring Yu-Gi-Oh! player, meaning I've quit and gone back to it a hell of a lot of times. In total, I can say I've been playing for something like 7 years, and the only reason I play is because it's one of those games that gives you the opportunity to meet some people and kill time. If I didn't have any friends who played it, I'd toss my cards back into the shoebox and leave it at that.

I currently run a Blackwing deck (standard meta with personal modifications, not Vayu Turbo bulls***) since Blackwings are the only archetype I actually like that can compete with the current format. It's been butchered by the banlists every year, but it's still a pretty cool deck, so meh, whatever. People can play what they want, I just want to flip my birds at them (lol). I have been thinking about starting an Ice Barrier deck, though.

I was into Pokemon for a little while, then I got into Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Right now, I'm trying to go back into Pokemon. I've started by ordering them in chronological order in a three-ring folder. /is total geek

I don't know why I started to drift from Pokemon, probably because I was getting into Naruto at the time. I'm sort of excited to get back into Pokemon, but I'm going to need a lot more cards so I have them all.

Whats your style with BW? I've seen several different plays of it. And i've got a friend whose rebuilding his and he's going back to classic style, when they first came out, but it's going to be different since some cards got limited and or banned.

I play Yugioh. I used to duel almost every day (since my friends would play at the lunch table). Since going to college not as much.

I don't have a deck currently since I tend not to 'tweak' decks, but rather throw the whole thing in my trunk and start over. But I have two main decks that I switch back and forth with. My main deck is a fiend deck that has been progressively switching over to be a dark dimension deck. My secondary deck is based arround equips and making monsters that would be weak really huge beatsticks (Guardian Baou, Raging Flame Sprite, and Armed Samurai - Ben Kei being my favorites)

Yeah thats how I was. Constantly tweaking, and when i couldn't tweak or got stuck, i took it apart until it came back to me. But isn't that what it's all about. Cards are always changing going from banned list, to back in play. New sets coming out constantly. Thats how it is with naruto. We play on block format( Certain sets and up). So your always having to see new stratgies with the cards.

I have always loved the Pokemon trading card game. To this day I still collect them but when I was younger I was very scared of losing so I never played it, instead I watched my sister (who was very good at it) play against a computer. I prefer just collecting the cards but I do enjoy the game as well, I just have no one to play it with, plus I couldn't choose a good deck out of my cards xD

I stopped playing card games because I have no one to play with anymore.

When I was younger, my cousins (three of them) and I played a lot of Pokemon, though it was mostly my two older ones (my other cousin and I liked to have them because of the pictures) and then we would trade a lot with each other. A few years later, we all got into Yu-Gi-Oh. I never learned to play, but I liked watching the others. My aunt used to work at a 7/11 so she brought us home cards all the time, some were Japanese, some were not. She got us some really rare cards too.

I still have all of mine, actually... I miss those days.

I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh with my dad every chance we got (I even remember getting a Duel Disk from the Battle City tournament saga for Christmas one year, it broke two years later but I used it every chance I got. I wouldn't take it off unless absolutely necessary or unless the duel was over. XDD). I remember we wasted so many sheets of paper keeping track of our Life Points...

I lost every time, even though I would stack up my deck with Yugi and Kaiba's best cards along with plenty of Monster Reborns and other such epic cards.
I collected Pokemon and Naruto but never really played because I wasn't interested in it all that much and because the rules seemed confusing. I only ever knew how to play the YuGiOh TCG just because that anime was the only one that used the cards and I was like obsessed with the anime. X)

A friend tried to get me into Magic: The Gathering and it was quite fun, just not something I'd spend big money on. I made a deck out of his spare cards though, consisting of Blue and Artifact cards. The only opponents I ever played it against were said friend and his brother though. I must admit I wasn't too bad for a beginner, but I still made a lot of mistakes.

I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh!, and had a deck that focused around killing my opponent's monsters and annoying the living hell out of him. I even went to a Yu-Gi-Oh! summer event during its hayday (5 wins, 2 losses, no draws). I still have my deck but it would probably get murdered if I played it in a tournament now. I play it on KHV too, and am ranked 1st somehow, though there are better players here.

I used to collect Pokémon cards too, but I didn't play the card game. I gave all those cards to my nephew.

Sorry for the ridiculously late reply, I didn't notice you had asked me about the deck. :sweatdrop:

My main cards for the deck are Fane the Steel Chain (keeping copies of him makes Synchroing for Silverwind SO easy with Blizzard and Bora) and Alector, Sovereign of Birds (favoritest card ever). Combine how often I get Silverwind out with my timing for Icarus Attack (which usually turns out to be spot on) and I'm able to clear the field with minimal effort for an OTK.

Scrapped Ice Barriers for Mist Valleys, btw. I think I'll just stick to Winged Beast decks from now on.

I never got into Pokemon, but Yu-Gi-Oh was my fav. It went from actually playing to collecting. Any rare, powerful card, you name it, I have. (except a few and I regret:( )

The type I have now is a fairy deck that involves summoning more fairies, and healing live points. The other is a dark fiend deck.......I don't know if I built for any purpose.

Now I have boxes and books full of them. But my secret book holds the god cards, legendary beasts, forbidden tournament cards, Exodia, F I N A L, original Dark Magician and Blue eyes, ect.

*sniffles* Oh those good old days.............

I used to have a collection of Digimon cards, but I could never figure out the game and would just play around with them.

For example, I would hold up, say, Biyomon and say, "Biyomon digivolve to...".

The only other card collection that I had was Yu-Gi-Oh. On occasion, I would play the game with my friends, but I eventually got bored and later lost my cards.

I used to be a card fanatic. I collected yugioh, dragonball z, naruto, pokemon etc, when was a kid. I eventually just threw them away, which was a major waste considering i spent hundreds of dollars on them. I don't miss them to the point of trying to get them all back, but sometimes when ill think about them and wish i had them back just for.
