New York is very popular(sp), I'm mean every one knows about New York, and Cloverfield is America's monster, so New York is the best location. And there is nothing to blow up, LA sucks, Dallas is stupid, Seattle...nothing really special, Washington DC just no. New York is the ultimate city in the USA.

    Kikame I've seen The Host.

And Death Note is not as enjoyable as Cloverfield.

Not everyone likes the same things *shrug* maybe we should keep most personal opinions out of this and just keep to talking about the movie.

I'm up for a sequel that won't be as innovative (Abrahams has said that it'll most likely come from another persons video camera) but will have the same perspective and charm.

Do you think any of the rumors that this is a prequal to something more familiar is true? Someone once told me this is a prequal to Rampage, the movie version of the game, but I was thinking, Rampage is all like cartoony and stuff, Cloverfield is not.

Someone else said it was a prequal to Voltron, and I'm thinking like, No, it doesnt looks like anything connected with giant robots attacking.

The only thing I think it could be connected to would be Parasite Eve, if it is in fact a prequal, since Parasite Eve seems the only thing realistic and Dark enough...

But, I really doubt it is connected with anything. I truly believe its just a movie, whith its own story. Not a prequal, but its own independant movie. There may be a sequal, from another camera's perspective, but nothing more than that.

The movie is orginal and has nothing to do with anything with other giant monster things like that game with the Looney Toon rejects. It's orginal and will been seen as such.

Same here, it may have been called 'original' but I didn't really think so.

The little things that fall off, remind me of FFX and Star Ship Troopers, and the big thing reminds me of Silent Hill 2 the game.

    Warning: Spoilers

Okay one, the parasites were based on the lice that lived on whales. Humpback whales, blue whales, to name a few. And the monster is a baby monster that has been living in the ocean for thousands and thousands of years then it woke and is suffering from speration anxiety, and it has nothing to do with a ghost town that has monsters representing sexual herassment(sp) in it..

    SH2:
I know that already, what I mean was the monster looks rather like the first whatver the hell the first thing you run into is, like a slimey glob of snot.

    FFX:
The things that come off it remind me of this alot, they fell off shook off and started attack. Hmm...seems alot like sin and it's scales, also sin lived in the water (it resembled a whale incase you didn't notice) but could come out >_>

    TST:
Mainly the way the parasites looked, the reminde me of the bugs in this movie ALOT, not just a little ALOT.

    *SPOILERS*

Thats would be the Lying Figure, they are skulking, humanoid creatures trapped in what appears to be straitjackets made from their own flesh. They attack by spewing a spray of acidic mist from an opening in their chest. They are slow whilst standing upright, but when knocked down they stay in a lying position and move by skittering very quickly along the ground. The Lying Figure symbolizes a hospital and/or mental patient squirming in agony, and are also a manifestation of James Sunderland's internal suffering.

The monster in Cloverfield doesn't even look like a whale. The things are PARASITES not living scales, and Sin is not a baby that is confused, lost, and scared.

And what are you talking about? Whats TST? Is that a drug referance?

Whatever, they both looked like blobs of snot to me, and the creature looks slightly humanoid from a veiw of top, not very but kinda.

I never said anything about it looking like a whale now did I? I said Sin from FFX was like a whale. Living scales, parasites, either way they responded the same. I realize that, sin was just aurmor created by Yevon, it couldn't be a baby or be sacred because it wasn't really a living thing.

I mean SST, as in star Ship Toopers, not any type of drug.
