Well, I know I am. I'm going to the city (aka Manhattan aka New York City) to go shopping for clothes with my brother this Friday.

This is the song I'd be listening while going and doing the shopping. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4tRd3KSqkA

What about you guys? Did you go school shopping or are you going to? And if so, then where?

I did some earlier this summer. I got two shirts and a pair of pants. I'm doing some later today since I obviously won't have enough for the entire school year.

Oh please, rap is 10 times better than rock. You can't argue that fact. And if you have an open mind, I think you'll learn to like rap. >>

I used to like rap then I got bored.

I can't stand rap now, it's just pointless.

The rappers don't even sing, they speak.

The actual songs are sound effects from a drag&drop computer program.

    Soujia boy is a FAD.

Bruce Díckinson(Iron Maiden's lead singer) can outsing many opera singers.

    Rock sounds GREAT live.

    Rock is rebellious.

There is so many sub-genres of rock, you can't just say "I hate rock".

Alot of rock bands are older than most users on this site.

Many songs evoke the emotions of the listener.

So yeah, I can argue with that statement.

First of all, rap is about free expression and is also rebellious. Listen to classic songs such as "Fight the Power" by Public Enemy and others. People express themselves through rap and talk about how the ghetto is a dangerous place and all the problems people have to go through living their or anywhere that has conflict and how that they over came all that when they became famous through rap. Rap is a doorway out of the ghetto and poverty for black youths.

Soulja Boy used to be poor too, and he just basically raps about anything that he wants to. He became famous through a dance that was being done all over the world and was on the news several times. If someone can do that, you have to respect them. He puts his personality in his music and it's basically about the things Soulja Boy is interested in and stuff or just a message about how successful he has become through his music. He works hard. He took his family out of the ghetto and into a rich neighborhood. And he has fun in his music and he makes music people can dance to. I don't see what's so bad about that. He was also an underground artist before being signed and becoming famous. There were people on the internet saying his music sucked during that time and saying he won't get signed but he just ignored them and just kept making music. Then when he got signed, people would say that his album wouldn't sell much, but his album went platinum and sold over a million ring tones braking history. He's doing a lot of things to get his money and people like it. So you can't just say he's a fad. He is also an inspiration to everyone that you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

So, I really see no problem with rap music nor Soulja Boy. =/

@ Vgn: We have different tastes in music, can't we not just get along?

I mean, it doesn't hurt anybody.

I'm actually doing some on Thursday. I can't wait to raid my local Hot Topic.
    And Tilly's.
And Pac Sun ... yeah, I'm a mall boy at heart. Damnit.

But anyways, hope you have a great time in Manhattan and hope you find some kick ass clothes.
Hope they are comfy as well. Don't want to get abnormal clothing, y'know.
