Mickey grinned

"Caleb....remeber that talk we had that you werent aloud to open your mouth?...listen to it."


River turned"Hi Jake."He said

Cadey sniffed and turned her attention to Jacob

 

Ocean cackled quietly to herself.

He carefully wrapped his arms around River's waist and hugged him. Jacob didn't quite understand what had happened, but he knew it was making people really upset. The same type of upset that his Mummy got when she talked about his Daddy, and it always cheered her up when he hugged her. So he was just hoping that a similar thing would happen if he hugged his cousins.

 

He looked a little stunned,nobody really hugged him...apart from his younger sister, he was 'too old' for them from his parents and probably would have never hugged Ocean,"Thanks Buddie."he said smiling slightly,patting Jacob's head

 

Jacob smiled cutely back, still hugging River. "You're welcome, " He said. "You looked sad..."

 

"Do I?"he said ,He'd thought he'd looked quiet....normal...but he had felt his face drop seeing Cadey"well...alot of people are gonna be sad today."


"Has Maddie been round? I can smell her."


"She's-"

"Right here"she said,Maddie had cut all her long hair off,so now it hung just at her shoulders"Missed me?"

 

"I don't like it when people are sad..." He said quietly, wondering if he should leave River to go hug his other cousin.

"Aunt Maddie?" Ocean said after looking at her hair for a moment. "Is your hair going to grow back now you've cut it off?" She asked, unable to pass the curiosity.

 

"Thats.....actually a pretty good question..."she said"I dont know....guess we'll wait and see."


"I dont think anybody likes seeing people sad..."he said,no matter what...the two youngest of the family could always get anyone to smile.....in any circumstance,like right now,River smiled weakly

 

"Well it looks nice, so even if it doesn't that's not all together a bad thing." She smiled.

"You going to cheer up soon...?" He asked, tilting his head so his oddly purple hair fell across his face. Causing him to sneeze and have his hair blow out of his face again.

 

"Maybe"he said pushing his cousin's hair out of his face

"Oh oh oh! Guess what! go on guess!"

"Your going to leave me alone now?"

"No!"Maddie said"Esmya's....."she glanced around"She's pregnant....but shush! her dad doesnt know yet"

"Esmya's what?"

 

"You should do, no fun being upset." Jacob said, nodding his head as he brushed his hair behind his ear.

"Is that even possible?" Ocean asked, looking slightly more confused.

 

Maddie nodded"she's only a half-vampire....so I guess its Possible and she chose to age along with Theodore when she was 18 so...yeah."Maddie shrugged


"Yeah I know."

 

"Ahhh." Ocean nodded. "Vampire genetics confuse the hell out of me." She giggled.

Jacob nodded again.

 

"You and me both"she laughed"But dont tell your uncle.....you know what he's like....she's 24 and he treats her like a child..."she rolled her eyes



ooc- do you wanna do the whole Danny appears thingy?

 

"He's only worried about her, he can't help it. Though he worries more about her then my Dad worries about me." She sighed.

"Because I know your a good girl and wouldnt make me a grandpa before Im old enough"he said smiling and patting her head

Rive sat at his father's feet in his aunt Maddie's house, three months had passed since that dreaded call,but things were going back to normal,or normalish,he was fiddling with the zip on his hoodie

 

Ocean was sat on the sofa, looking through one of medical journals her grandfather had given her not too long before. She knew it was rather anti-social, but she didn't really care, career before annoying family matters.

Lake was stood besides Mickey, her arm threaded between his and his body. It didn't seem that long ago to her that she'd found out Maddie was pregnant with Esmya. But once she started thinking of that she began to think of how Mickey had run off that same year, which made her slightly more clingy to her husband than usual. Even after all these years the pain of that awful year still haunted her in the back of her mind.

Jacob was lying on the floor, looking through piles of picture books looking for something that might be at least slightly interesting. So far he'd had no luck.

 

River was staring out the window,squinting at something in the distance,he stopped playing with the zip,tilting his head to the side

"River? what are you staring at?"Esmya said,she was only three months along,but she had the moody thing down to a T.


"What is that?"Mickey muttered

 

Lake looked out of the window to see what they were looking at, after a moment she lifted her delicate head and sniffed the air. She then muttered quietly under her breath."Vampire... And not our usuals... They smell fresher..."

Ocean lifted her head and sniffed too, although she wasn't a transforming werewolf she could still identify species by scent. "I agree with Mum..."

 

River had gotten up to get a better look,his eyes widened "No way....thats-"


"Danny!"Cadey gasped,jumping to her feet and rushing out the door


"Cadey! wait!"River said running after her,if a vampire was out there...a new one....it wasnt a good idea to be outside...alone and human

 

"Get the humans somewhere safe, especially the kids, and quickly." Lake barked, when it came to her lycanthropic duty of protection, particularly when her family was involved, she became a totally different person.

Ocean snapped the book shut and grabbed the youngest two children by the wrists and pulled them up. "Come on you two, we're going upstairs for a bit."
