Clash of the races'

"Im such a idiot! I knew I should have went with him! he was worse than me! but no because we passed by here he told me to just go......"he put a hand over his eyes,leaning on the table,"IDIOT." He thumped the table with his hand,making Elena jump,she dropped her crayons and looked worriedly at her brother.

"River....it wasnt your fault....these things...they just happen.....no one knows why.....it was like that when Ronan and Uncle Jordan died....I didnt understand how I lived and the didnt....but its fate"Mickey said

 

She squeezed her son's shoulder gently. "River sweetie..." Lake sighed. "You really can't blame yourself, you can't change the past after all."

 

"Its not fair"

"Son....life isnt fair..."

"I know that now."he sighed "Can I go see Cadey?"

"Ok, get changed...I'll take you...I think she's at your Grandma's....you know how she is with your Gradma..."he tried to joked,but River just got up and went up to his room,slamming the door behind him,Mickey sighed

 

Lake sighed and picked up the plate that River had abandoned.
"He'll be all right..." She sighed as she placed it on the kitchen counter. Although she didn't sound particularly convinced of that herself. Lake never liked to see people she cared about upset, it's why she spent a large amount of her teenage years in emotional agony as Mickey tried to come to terms with his sister becoming a vampire.

"Maybe I should go see how he is..." Ocean mumbled to herself, unsure if she should or not after the water incident that morning.

 

"Yeah....he'll...erm He'll bounce back eventually....he always does."Mickey said,though he sounded unsure."That might be a good idea Ocean.."


Elena stared at everyone "I Wanna go too."

 

"I think it'd be better if you stay out of it at the moment Elly." Ocean said, reaching over and patting her little sister's head. "You stay here and draw him something happy to cheer him up, what do you think of that?"

 

"Hmmmm...ok" she smiled

 

"Good girl." Ocean smiled encouragingly. She slid out from her seat and wandered up the stairs and towards her brother's room. Nervously she knocked on the door, she was always a little apprehensive of talking to River when he wasn't in the best of moods. And finding out your best friend is dead has to be one of the worst mood that you can ever be dumped into.

 

"Oh, Hi Ocean."he said,he'd changed pretty quickly,a sleeveless hooded t-shirt and baggy jeans were like his trademark, as well as the every-colour hair gel and matching zipper he had,"Y'know...I dont know what Colour to go today...Im only wearing it 'cos Cadey got me it...she likes it when I wear it...so....what do you think?" That was River all over....try to make others happy....even when he was hurting too, River seemed to live to please people...make them proud.....but he worked hardest on trying to make his father proud...it never occurred to him....that he didnt have too.He tapped the zipper with his wand,changing it colour,he was trying to act normal....as if nothing happened, that was how he ticked...River got on with things....he never showed his emotions when things like this happened...which explained why he was a sobbing wreck...as far as he was concerned River Michael Malfoy did not cry and hadnt cried since he was 7 when his gold fish died.

 

"I think it looks fine." She replied slipping into his room. "Are you alright..?" Ocean asked.

 

"Me? yeah Im...totaly fine.....like couldnt get any finer than I ..."he said putting things back in his closet

 

"You don't have to lie to me you know River..." She sighed, leaning against one of his bedroom doors. "This has got to be hurting you, at least a bit."

"Well I'd have to be heartless if I said I wasnt upset.....but seriously....Im fine."

"I know, but you can't keep it locked up... You'll explode or implode eventually." Ocean said, furrowing her brown with concern. "Maybe you should talk to a friend after seeing Cadey...? You'll need support too and you might be happier talking to a friend then to your sister or Mum or Dad."

 

He snorted "What friends do I have? everyone at school was scared of me....of what I am....Danny was my only mate in that hell-hole."

 

"I thought that little brunette girl was your friend, you usually ended up doing work with her in the classes you had Danny wasn't in. I can't remember her name though..." Ocean suggested, the name of the girl escaping her mind and frustrating her greatly.

 

"Hermia? she is...kinda..."he said "but i dont see her out side of school."

 

"Send her an owl or something maybe?" She suggested. "You might be surprised, she didn't seem to have any friends either."
Ocean had been a prefect and the head girl at Hogwarts during her time there, so she often had to deal with upset kids and watched the students in the common room to see what was going wrong and where.

 

"And If she thinks Im bugging her? then what?"

 

"I doubt it, she seemed nice enough. She might be happy to get a message from someone."
