So i've been kicking around the idea of buying a tablet, though i'm still not sure whether I actually want one or not but that's besides the point. I want to ask, is there a tablet that people recommend getting that isn't an iPad? I already have an iPhone to feed me with all my apple app needs, so I as wondering if there was another, equally as raved about and great tablet. Not really bothered by a price at this point, just wonder what stuff would be good since I know little to nothing about tablets. Thanks for reading!
I have no personal experience with any tablets, due to not owning any, but I do find the Google Nexus 7 to seem to be very lovely and compatible with many google apps and the likes. Currently is $199. Here are some of the specs if you're interested.
The iPad really is the best tablet out there, but since you don't want one, that new Kindle table is runner-up.
I haven't used any tablet devices even though there's one in my household (an iPad 2) because they all currently lack one basic functionality: multiple user accounts. If I were you I would wait and see of the upcoming Windows 8 tablets are any good. Also it might help if you tell us what you want to use a tablet for. For my needs, if I had extra cash to spend on a secondary device for the family, I might get a Chromebook, which is not a tablet, but could be used in the same way. EDIT 11/14/12: Now that Android 4.2 brought multi-user support to the Nexus tablets, a Nexus is really starting to look appealing to me.
Thanks for the advice guys i'll have a look at the suggestions. And in terms if why I want it, idk, just a personal electronic device that won't be shared by my family, I can browse the internet, type on easy enough, reliable, good battery life, and I suppose more secondary streaming videos, watching file movies, have apps like Skype, and a bit of gaming stuff. An app store that is cheap? That's my general aim for this, a bit of work use yet still got fun things to do.
