John frowned as he let the sand he had been holding seep through his fingers. "Wait, what sort of things do you think we'll be doing." John tried to keep the fear out of his voice, but never the less his voice shook slightly.

Kayta slipped back into her habit of staring at her shoes. She wanted to say something, anything to show that she wasn't scared, but she was afraid that her voice would tremble and give it away. The breeze gently pushed her hair out of her face, and she was glad she had Silas' coat. She was in a strange place, and the warmth of something familiar made her feel more secure. Well, she thought. You wanted to get away from it all. This is about as far away as you can get.

Mya stared at the sand in her hands slipping through her hands. If this is a new world, then it's good then right? We don't have to be ordered my anyone. We are our own group. We can set laws and rules just for our likings! We can make a perfect world!

Kayta looked at Mya like she had gone crazy. "You want to take over this world?" She asked. "You can't just go to random places and decide to take control over them! Besides, How do you know people don't already live here? The bossy chick didn't say it's a new world, she said it was her world. So people probably do live here, seeing as she's one of them."

OOC: I should've added something like she hated the world she lived in on her Bio or something to explain her strange behavior on life and stuff if anyone was confused.

BIC: Mya continued picking up sand and spilling it onto the ground. Think what you want, but this isn't the world we should know. Maybe we aren't standing on sand. Maybe it could be something else. If someone lived here, wouldn't they come here so they could see the strangers? Don't you find it exciting to be in a different world whhere it isn't the world we live in today?

"Okay, one at a time. First rule of this place, everything is not as it seems. There is plenty of life here, let me assure you even if it isn't obvious. Although I should say there aren't many humans here, like me, and this world..." She paused thinking of the right word, "Affects those who live here. Though that is not important right now. The world is at war as such, though not the kind of war you know. I want you to bring peace to this land. Now we should move, it is not safe here." As she spoke the ground beneath there feet began to shake.

"An earthquake?" Xektia gasped as she widened her stance while glaring at the grains of sand as the bounced around. "Well then, peace we shall bring I suppose- but I don't know if we have the power to stop natural disasters occurring!" She just looked at the woman awaiting some further instructions.

"One more thing I want to add..." his voice vibrated from the ground trembling underneath him, "We're not taking over a land. They need our help, and we're going to help them. I'm not sure about you guys..but I came here for an adventure." he lied, "As we grew up we learned to help people, right? Well, our job right now is to help this alien place-ahh..no offense grandma." Then he muttered, "And let's make it out alive." He held his head high, "Now lets go!" he said, wanting to stop being serious as he started sprinting off in a random direction.

"I'll help for sure.. Well it's not like we have much of a choice anywway," she said before the ground started to shake. As she say Zach started to run in a random direction she run after him yelling" Zach! Wait we don't know which way to go!"

Kayta looked at the shaking ground. "Plenty of life, but not very obvious..." She looked up at the bossy chick. Silas had read a book once called A Wind in the Door, and in this book, a group of people traveled deep inside another person and discovered an entire society of creatures so small, they couldn't even be seen through a telescope. At least, that's what she figured out listening to Silas. Maybe the sand itself wasn't sand. Maybe it was a population of life forms. Maybe those rock-things were alive. Anything could be alive, and whatever it was, they were at war. "What's making the sand move?" she asked the bossy chick. "It's not just an earthquake, is it?"

"This is no natural disaster" Carmen muttered but wasted no time in leaping over to the 'rock' she'd been sat on before. She knocked on it several times, "Up and at 'em, boy. We've got to get out of here, plus I hope you don't mind the exta load" The rock suddenly shook before sprouting a head and legs, uncurling to increase in size. "Good boy" She jumped up onto it's back, "Alright, everybody on! I'll tell you more once we're safe"

Mei looked round to see the creature appear, it was impressive that such a big creature could hide so easily. But she had bigger concerns now. She tried to move across the 'sand' but her feet kept sinking as it shook. What on earth had they got themselves into?

Kayta lost no time in trying to get to the rock-thing that wasn't really a rock. She had this sick, churning feeling in her gut and it was making her mad. "You couldn't have mentioned that a little bit sooner?" she snapped to Carmen as she stumbled past Mei. She looked behind her. "Walk up, not just forward," she instructed everyone. "It's like quicksand, it's pulling you down." Then she looked in the direction that Zach and that other girl were running. "YO!" she shouted. "You won't get far running that way."

"Sorry" Carmen shouted apoligetically as the beast moved with relitive ease over over to them across the sand, "I hadn't expected it to happen so soon. Now, we've got to get everyone on as fast as possible" The sky had become darker over them and the wind had picked up. Carmen still possessed the power from before, even in this situation.

Mei struggled over to the rock animal finally reaching it and glad to reach something solid to step onto. With effort she struggled up onto the creatures back, which felt kind of like a shell. Although, relieved to finally be safe, she climbed over and slid down anouther leg to reach out the others and try and help them.

Xektia bounced onto the rock creature, and holding on for dear life she struggled to get on. At last she made it. " Oh wow, well if someone where to ask me what I thought I'd be doing on this trip, never would I say 'Riding a rock'... it's just so weird." She laughed as she looked down at the others offering them her encouragement.

Kayta jumped up onto the rock without accepting help from Mei or Xektia. She didn't need help from anybody, not anybody. She didn't say anything either, she just reached into one of her pockets and pulled out a coil of rope. Uncoiling it, she found a good spot to sit where she could prop her feet up against what she assumed to be the things head. That way, she could try to avoid falling off and use both hands to hold the rope, which she then threw over the edge so people could climb up the rock easier.

Zach continued to sprint in the other direction, not even daring to look back, and he had no clue what was going on. The shaking was getting worse, but he always grew up learning that right after the worst part is perfect calmness. The sky almost made Zach scared, and the wind almost knocked him down. He turned back, and he'd run quite a distance. From what he could see they were climbing on...a rock? Rocks now? Seriously? he couldn't even hear his heavy breathing over the howling wind. He felt his feet sinking in to the sand, Hunh, guess it's not safe. He waved his arms high and try to head back toward them but it felt like somebody put weights on his ankles. It was sand all the way back..but about halfway the distance to get back to them was something that looked like..well..not sand. He tried to shout "I'M GOING THE OTHER WAY!" but he could barely even hear himself as he struggled to turn back around.

Mya yelped and fell onto the sand as the ground shook violently. Huh? What's going on? Earthquake? She then saw the others going into the rocks. She ran with the others and jumped onto the rock. Then she saw Zach sinking from a distance. Umm I don't think we should leave him like that should we?

"Everybody over here on? Hold on" Carmen asked everyone, "Alright, come on boy, let's go save them" With that the beast turned and moved with a suprising speed towards Zach. Carmen had a serious look on her face as her red hair whipped out behind her. Although, she rubbed the creature as it went, as if to pet it.

Mai grabbed on as it moved quickly, braching herself as not to fall off. For such a big bulky creature, it moved at a reasonable pace too. It kind of skimmed across the sand, it's tail thing propelling it as apposed to acrually running. She looked up at the others "Are you alright?" She asked, "Bet you didn't expect to be doing this this morning"

In answer, Kayta sent Mai a look if contempt as she quickly pulled her rope up from the ground and wrapped it once around the thing she had been using to prop herself up. Then, she tied a knot and held on to it, like a sort of seat belt. There was plenty of rope left over after her, so she held the end out to the others. "Hold on to it, and you'll be less likely to fall off." she said.
