~Choices~

Alex grinned slightly at Zach, relieved to see that there was another male in the group. "Hey, I'm Alex." He said, studying the boy. He looked just a bit older than him, maybe 1-2 years, and he seemed pretty nice. He also noticed two more volunteers making they're way through the crowd, only able to see that one was a girl and the other, a boy. He looked at the black door that lay in front of them, feeling a cold shiver run down his back as he continued to look at it. His bottom lip trembled but he quickly stopped it, trying not to look frightened in front of the others.

 

"I hate to be a bother," a soft voice spoke from behind the volunteers, "But do any of you lovely ladies have a spare hair bow?" A young man walked up to them, unbuttoning his brown blazer to reveal his burgundy vest. Beneath the vest, a yellow collared shirt was visible, along with the black tie. He was wearing black dress shoes at the bottom of his blue dress pants. His unkempt blonde hair reached the top of his neck and was laid over his right eye, showing only one bright blue eye. "Or anything to tie my hair at all? I did not have time this morning to comb it and as you can see," he slipped a hand through his blonde hair, smiling, "It's quite the mess, I would say."

 

John wanted to see what was all happening so he pulled his glasses out of his pocket and pushed them on. Everything went from a mess of blurry images to clear pictures, John laughed aloud like he normally did when he put on his glasses and looked around. Taking it all in. The people around him were mostly uninteresting. Many of them just looked like normal people. There were a few there that looked like they might have reasons for doing this thing. If they don't have reasons, Thought John, They really shouldn't even be here. Wait, what am I even talking about. I don't have a reason, do I. When he noticed people looking at him John took of his glasses and stuffed them back in his pocket. His bazaar appearance often attracted strange looks (No doubt they all thought he was insane) but he didn't like the way his glasses made him look. A freak he could handle, but no one would call him a geek.

 

Kayta looked at the newcomers, and she saw John put on his glasses real fast to look around and then take them off again. Shame, She thought. He looks so much more... normal with the glasses on. Then when the other newcomer asked for a hair bow, she almost laughed. He wanted a hair bow? Well, he certainly was a sharp dresser. Stuck up, she automatically thought. Rich and conceited. But she pulled a comb and a red ribbon out of her pocket and held it out to him. "Will this work?" she asked. She looked straight into his eyes, practically daring him to refuse.

 

Mya looked at the crowd and saw a group of people. Normally, she would've left, but they seem to stand out. She decided a look and some talk wouldn't hurt she walked up towards the group of people, volunteering just like her. I'm assuming that you guys are here for the volunteer as well?

 

Xektia looked at the newcomers, the one who had just asked for a hair bow really did look smart, she couldn't help but notice his blue eye. "Hey, nice to meet you, I'm sorry I don't really carry that stuff around with me." She smiled and then looked at the others, a boy with glasses and acid green hair. Xektia was very taken back by the way he dressed, she was immediately fascinated with this boy.

 

Zach took in the newcomers, slightly grinning, first he turned to Mr. neat, "Name's Zach. What about you? By the way..sorry I don't have a thing." he pointed at the ribbon that Kayta held out. Then he turned to another girl who'd just arrived, "Sadly, yes. Nothing else better to do, eh?" he lied. "Name's Zach." he finished.

 

OOC: Sorry for the delay, I've been busy. I'll be starting soon, everyone who wants a volunteer needs to be there before they all go through the door.

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Mei" She said with a grin to the new volunteers, "I'm afraid I don't have anything" She said with a smile to the extremely smart boy who'd turned up but smiled as Katya got some out. "Yeah, it would appear so" She said in response to Mya before glancing at her watch, "And we should be finding out what we've got ourselves into pretty soon" It was getting quite crowded at the top of the stairs, she was suprised actually how many people had decided to volunteer.

 

As soon as John reached the door he bumbed into it and fell over. He was always doing stuff like that, especialy when he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. Normally he would have stopped before he reached the black door (Or at least, he thought it was black.) but when he wasn't paying attention, he bumbed into a lot of things. He pulled himself to his feet and stumbled into somebody else.

 

Zach smiled, looking at John. "Zach." he nodded, ready to catch him. He looked at the others, new faces he just met, "Do you guys know what town..erm..or city we're in?" he muttered very quietly.

 

Kayta looked up at Zach. "You mean you don't know?" she asked incredulously, displaying real interest for the first time. How had he got here if he didn't know where 'here' was?

 

Zach shrugged, as if he didn't care, "I've been..well, 'traveling' lately." he partially lied. "I just showed up here and..yeah."

 

"Sorry for bumping into you." said John too... well, whoever he had bumped into. "I can't see that well."

 

"Why thank you, that works perfectly," he told the girl who handed him the ribbon and comb. He smiled at the others to show it was fine since someone had one and proceeded to tie his hair in a ponytail, revealing a green eye next to his blue one. "A bit feminine, mind you, but if I cared about that, I would have visited a barber long ago!" He laughed quietly to break the ice and handed the comb to the girl. "You saved my day so thank you again," he said, still smiling. Hayato then looked at the other boy who was 'lost' and placed a hand on his shoulder. "That makes two of us then," he smiled. "I have no idea which city this is." It was an obvious lie, but the poor boy seemed embarrassed to not know that Hayato felt obligated to join him in his 'lostness.'

 

Kayta took the comb back and put it in her pocket. She didn't say anything, however. She just looked at the black door for a second and then back down at the ground.

 

Xektia just leaned against the wall watching the strangely dressed boy crash into things while some of the others exchanged hair products. "It's a weird city, I'm not actually completely certain of it's name. Well, it's not a huge place and I don't live here, I live in a neighbouring town. On the posters it gave the address but I can't recall any name mentioned, sorry." She smiled at him.

"Now, I wander how many more will show, and I wander when they'll open the door!" She yelled, half playfully. Her curiousity was killing her, she knew that she was a naturally curious person who pondered ever stupid little thing and she had a feeling that her mind was gonig to be filled with questions once the door swung open. She watched it, waiting for the second when it would just pop open, the more she watched, the slower time seemed to go so Xektia just sighed and looked out once again at the crowd, trying to pick the most interesting people to analyse.

 

Kayta also was wondering how long it would take for them to be allowed inside. The flyer said to be here now, she thought. Why are they making us stand around, do they wanna give the low-lifes out there a chance to gawk? She looked back up at the black door again, still as ever. Maybe they're testing us, maybe they're testing our patience. She looked back down at her shoes. Then again, maybe they're just jerks.

 

"You being serious?" Mai said as she looked at the others in suprise. "I know it's not a big place but you should know it's name if you're here. It's -"She was cut short as the black door began to open. Within a matter of seconds ahush had desended over them. Everyone had just stopped and was now looking at the door. All that was heard was the sharp footsteps of whoever was coming through the door. Mai tried to look through the door as it opened to see what was within but to no avail.

The door edged open opened and out stepped a strange woman. The first thing that struck them was the sense of authority that seemed to radiate from her. She was tall, and had dark red hair tied up into a high ponytail that snaked down her back. She held herself high, her posture elegant and comanding, she looked around observing everyone as if they were beneath her, no hint of emotion on her face. After a few seconds, she broke the silence so saying, her voice matching her appearence, "So, you are the volunteers" She said to the group standing at the top of the stairs.

OOC: I know, I know, I'm cheating by not saying a place name but I am moving things on.

 

Xektia sensed her authority, she knew this woman was no tsomeone to mess with. This is no time for making jokes she thought as she stood there motionless.

"Yeah, I am Xektia and I am curious as to find out what we're doing." Xektia said in a posh tone. She had no intention of annoying this women, but if she was to completely honest with herself, she sort of feared her. Her voice so booming, her posture so strong, who was this woman?

 

John grinned. Finally. John pulled out his glasses. He was going to need to see at least a little. Normally he could tell alot about a person by their voice, but he wanted to see this person clearly. Also he wanted to see the person who had spoken up. Smiling, John stepped forward. He ran a hand through his green hair self consciously and addressed the woman. "Yeah, I'm John. Can you tell us what this is all about? I'd kinda like to know what I've gotten myself into."
