Chinese Zodiac

Probably because no one's really taught the traditional things as a kid, plus remembering all of that is kind of a handful lol.

And for anyone that's interested and knows enough about their birthday, this is a calculator that will tell you your respective animals for year, month, day, and hour (known as the Four Pillars of Destiny). The first element and animal of the four yellow columns are the main ones to pay attention to.
Year - information on family backround and society/relationship with grandparents
Month - information about parents or childhood - many astrologers consider this to be the most important in determining circumstances in adulthood
Day - information about yourself and your adult/married life
Hour - "secret animal" that is your truest representation; also information about your children, contributions to the world, or later life

So in my case, I'm a Water Rooster by year, Fire Snake by month, Wood Tiger by day, and Fire Tiger by hour.

Very off. Mine is accurate at least somewhat accurate, though. Aside from calling me unintuitive, that is quite inaccurate.

I am the Monkey. Hm, strange how accurate predictions about me tend to be.

 

You know, I never tried any of those links. I've known I was a dragon for years because of those placemats at the Chinese buffet in town.

If I use Sforzato's Link:
I am an Earth Dragon. More rooted in the ground, Earth Dragons make better decisions because they act more rationally. Earth Dragons are level-headed and able to control their behaviors. They’re more supportive of others, but they prefer being admired by others.

And if I use the Four Pillars link I get very confused.

 

Dragon here. Must say this is quite accurate but the snake scares me. A lot. I have a friend who is a lot like what it is described here for the snake.

I'm a dog, I'd have to say that it's pretty spot on, not in my job interest at all, but personality wise pretty much. Although completely wrong about not being compatible with the rooster..in any case.

Positive:
Devoted, very much so.
Resilien, Indeed.
Unselfish, definitely.
Honest, usually.
Resourceful, can be.
Reliable, always.

Negative:
Nosy, I can be, but not usually.
Cynical, people think I am because I'm sarcastic, but I'm not really.
Cantakerous, this would be the farthest off, I'm not one to argue.
Pessimistic, occasionally yes.
Anxious, I do tend to get anxious, but I've gotten pretty good at not showing it.
Introverted, along with the anger this one is off, I know when to shut up, that doesn't make me shy.

Dogs are naturally honest and faithful to the ones they love. Dogs seem to specialize -- they find an hobby or interest they enjoy and stick to it. Huh, why does everything I've read about Water Monkeys ring true about myself? Chinese Sodiacs seem to ring more true for me then others. Good ol Chinese thinking.
I do not like others predicting me for who I am by some strange Zodiac of animalia.

Rooster, specifically Water Rooster, and the listed personality traits hardly suit me. I find it hard to put stock into something trying to describe everyone born in a certain year.

The goat-sheep description is frighteningly accurate, even the earth bit fits ... but I know an awful lot of people who were born the same year and they aren' t like me at all.

Emotional? In every test I do and in everything they tell me they say emotional.
Makes sense, since I trust more in my feelings over reason.

Free-spirited in every sense of the word, commitment is the easiest way to scare Metal Horses away. They prefer jumping from one relationship or job to the next. Because of this, Metal Horses make better friends than partners.
