I understand what you mean, but that's how it is; Very few people take command, they need someone to command them. That's why I believe you need leaders in any organization.
And the Chinese government is pretty fked up. If they find a good way to impose authority, they grab it. Whether it is right or not.

I couldn't watch the video. I looked at the pictures, though, and even that had me wanted to squeeze my eyes dry.

This is horrible, a regular hit and run is bad enough, but when done to a toddler twice?
AND people walked right by her after? This is just outstanding. Kudos to the woman that finally rescued her, Chen Xianmei.
I dearly hope and wish that the little girl is alright.

That particular experiment I believe your quoting was conducted in more detail at another point with two people, one a man who looked like a drunk and smelt as such whilst the other man was a well dressed business man. Each would feign a collapse and lie down in the middle of a busy high street pavement, and the experimenters would see how long it would take for an onlooker to assist them. It took almost half the time to help the business man then the drunk. Something about how we perceive the rank of people and their worth in life.

Youd think that a kid in the street might at least get a look at by someone sooner then 19 people. It's maddening to watch that video over, it feels impossible no one saw that and took notice.

Sad to say it will happen again. Somewhere it will.

Seeing things like this makes me question if humanity as a whole has any morals what so ever. I know true and well that people can be very cold but I hope they start to change. Not for themselves but for people like this. That girl didn't by any means deserve this and having nobody help her (right away) is just sickening.
