Ah yes, and stop being prejudice towards cheerleaders. Not all of them are horrid. In this case you guys are for Very. So she would be considered "all cheerleaders?"

Some cheerleaders are cool and some that are howt don't nessercially have to be mean. (Correct me if I'm wrong but,) you guys probebly dont even know all of their background story. Maybe there is a huge issue which makes her act that way.


Nevertheless, I never really said this to you with enthusiasm but, Congratulations Very, for making the squad. I'm sure you'll do great.

 

Unfortunately the clique cliche still exists. You have to be physically fit to be a cheerleader but that's a broad definition in itself. Enjoy the human pyramid.

 

You know, you don't help her by copying the quote and solidifying it in your post either. Instead you could have just told her to go back and edit that segment so that it didn't give out local information. That'd have been far more helpful.

You're right, not all cheerleaders are mean and all. I know a few of them myself and some are pretty cool...not to mention easy for the eyes XD Anyway, on a serious note, I kinda predicted this would happen. You shouldnt let it faze you because that's life. If they don't like it, tough. If they continue to bother you, tell them to take a good look at the real world. It's not fair and it certainly does not always go in your favour.

We didn't really have cheerleaders when we were in high school. The closest thing would be the color guard.

I do remember a few girls tried to petition for the formation of a squad but it fell through since there wasn't enough interest and the diocese felt it would interfere with 'Christian education'. That's a whole 'nother thread right there.

Anyway, I did know a few of the cheerleaders from other schools and they weren't so bad. The stereotype still stands though based on movies like Bring it On and tv shows...which I can't provide examples for at this present moment. I remember meeting them for lunch and the people around us would do double takes seeing a goth hanging out with 2 prep-ish types. xD

"Physically fit" is a broad term that doesn't always fit the person in question. Most of these girls develop eating disorders because they feel they don't fit the image. But then again, if done properly cheerleading promotes physical fitness same as playing sports or gymnastics does.
