ok I want a challange playthrough of KHII anyone got any idea's

    what I got so far

    my custom one:
    proud mode
    only AP boosting accesories
    only resistance boosting armor
kingdom key only (initial equip for forms)
    low-level (optional)
    no support abilities (optional)
open all available chests in a world before moving on (optional)

    critical health playthrough (BaseSebastion)
play the entire game on critical health (red)
    low-level rules (optional)

    deadheart's idea's:
.Take out Donald Cure, his limits and his Support abilities
.Take out Goofy Tornado, his limits and his support abilities
    .Only use Donald and Goofy
.Only Monochrome Key Chain(or whatever it's called)in case of a no item challenge(Kingdom Key effect is too much useful)
    .No Armor
    .No Auto-Drive ability(It helps sometimes)

anything else?? I'll write a faq for the challange once I'm done with it for anybody else

    You could add:
    .Only necessary battles(Low-level)
.No support abilities, except for Scan(Libra)and Lucky strike.
    .No items
.Opitional:Only save after clearing 3 or 2 worlds and no Continues.

ok the saveing thing is a bit odd and I wanna do it on proud mode so I think no items is impossible but the low level is nice and maybe for a extra hard game add the no support abilities but I think xaldin would be close to impossible without combo boosts and reation boots and everything else on top of that lol

I always though about doing this, but I only had a few ideas, so I never did it. But either way, most of the ones I thought up are already listed so, I got a few more:

1st Person View playthrough- A game where you have to walk around, attack, and do everything, through the eyes of your character. Some of the challenges would be, you can't see behind you, and you can't lock onto anything.
If you absolutely have to lock-onto something to progress, then it is ok.
And since you lose First person view mode everytime you enter a new area or after every cutscene, it's ok to have third person view during those points. But you must turn First person view on every time to continue.
You can use reaction commands, legally, but you must reactivate First-Person view after you finish the commands.

Treasure hunt- You must locate and open all available chests to continue. Pros: You get useful items. Cons: some chests can be tricky to find.

well the 1st perso thing just is a neuscance it dosn't make it harder really

and the chest stuff is good so I'll put that as another optional one

Actually it does. You won't have the camera to help you out when finding enemies/dodging attacks. Also NO REACTION COMMANDS, unless necessary to move on. No damage, only fight necessary battles, maybe a no jump restriction when possible as well. Oh and only Scan and lucky strike as your abilities...oh and equip the weakest keyblade at all times. Meaning use the keyblade you get from Mulan's level until you get Sweet Memories. Then NEVER use drive forms/limits/magic(except when you need it to progress the story). Don't equip any abilities or items for any party member also. Unequip their @$$es. That will make KH2 VERY hard.

well all good idea's but I think a kingdom key one will be best because I use magic heavily in the beginning of the game and mulans would make it easier on me

    No Cure/Cura/Curaga allowed!
Only use Potions to heal, as in no Hi-Potions!

Well then what's the point of a challenge playthrough if you're going to use magic? Defender makes the game easier and Mulan's keyblade thingy's ability won't give you an advantage if you don't use magic. Magic spamming(or even using magic)=easy playthrough. Avoid using magic at all costs(except in Agrabah level where you have to use it on those orb things).

    See?
    Toldja.

I take that challenge almost everytime I play KH II, not to mention how often the mode is proud when I play it.

One new one I'd like to take up, quite personally, is one Suggested by DreadHeart. The one where you only save up to three times in the game, with no continues.

I'd like to try that one!

Wow...I wouldn't do that because I don't want to sit in front of my TV all that time or let my PS2 overheat...unless you play through the game quickly...OOOO!!! Another thing to add. Try and make it as much of a speed run as possible!

thats a matter of opinion I think that if ya go and fight and not worry about stratagy it makes it easier because really KHII unlike KHI is a really easy button masher

any game that could be beat in 7 hours is easy imo

Just talking about Proud Mode makes me wanna expirience how hard it is. Also, can you gain more EXP since it's harder?

    no added EXP

and its not hard really but I'm gonna try this challenge with the chests, initial equip (kingdom key), low-level, possibly no cure spells, and only resistance and AP extra stuff but first I gotta get through the tutorial.......crap

The thing that catches us all my friend, the one that catches us all.

Not to say the game would better without the prolouge...it's just that it's so freakin' long.

But, I have come up with another challenge!

Play through the game- AT CRITCAL HEALTH!

I've done it dozens of times with the Experiance boost ability equiped, so it is possible. But if you use the "only scan and Lucky abilities" challenge in co-existance with this one, you can't use stuff like defender, or Experiance boost, which only activate when Sora is bleeping red in health.

Getting low on health is easy: Attack a couple of enemies once, then they will start dishing out tougher attacks on Sora. As soon as Sora is red, then it's challenge time!

This includes bosses, but you must be critcal health before fighting them.

It's pretty self-explanatory you can only save the game on the gummi menu.

How about finishing within 10 hours while having and maintaining the default party's average level at 50? I tried this and failed with an average of 51...

You haven't tried Proud Mode? Are you sure your not talking about Critical mode? Oh well...and Graxe what do you mean default party average? Can't you beat the game at a lower level than 50?...I think you can...

I think no items is better than no cure...but well you could add these:
.Take out Donald Cure, his limits and his Support abilities
.Take out Goofy Tornado, his limits and his support abilities
    .Only use Donald and Goofy
.Only Monochrome Key Chain(or whatever it's called)in case of a no item challenge(Kingdom Key effect is too much useful)
    .No Armor
    .No Auto-Drive ability(It helps sometimes)

I will think on more later.
