Once a derma sign this contract they become permanently bound to that person until they die. If the master dies so does the Derma" Drake said. He didn't know why he was telling her all this information

 

Clara looked back at Jane and Benjamin. "So they must have signed a contract, that must be why when the creepy guy threatened the man she dropped her weapon." She watched them fascinated, she had never known about these beings. They had so much power. But people must know about them right? Maybe it's something only in Maderin, I don't recall anything like this back in Towaira. She thought. Then she looked back up at Drake, "Have you signed a contract with someone?" she asked, then she realized how personal that might be, and how rude she was being for asking this stranger all of these questions. "Oh..umm.....I'm sorry....I didn't mean to ask so many questions." Clara looked down feeling embarrassed.

 

"it's alright" drake said and closed his eyes "no I have not signed a contract. Threw out my life as a Derma I have seen how cruel humans are"

 

Clara looked up at Drake then. She thought of the men who had captured her, who had interrogated her, beaten her violently for no reason, even when she said that she didn't know anything and seemed to enjoy every minute of it, then threw her in the slave camp. She thought of the children who had run around the slave camps happily playing, most of them with horrible scars from being interrogated. Their innocence, they didn't know what was about to happen to them. Then she thought of the small girl who had shown her to the elder man who had helped her. And all of the kind people who had helped her, comforted her and been her friends while she was in the camp. "Humans are savages by nature," Clara started, "But we are also born with innocence, kindness, and laughter."

Annabell slowed down her pace as she walked down the street, it was starting to get dark. The crowd that usually was in this street was starting to disperse. The market shops were starting to close up and the moon was coming out. She was headed towards the fountain, in the city square. After the crowd was gone the fountain was the most peaceful spot in the whole city.

 

"heh well 2 dermas who fight, while that may be interesting i grow hungry" he flicked the cig on the ground, stomped it, then went off to find more 'food'.

 

"innocence.............kindness........and laughter?" Drake said. At the moment he really didn't know what to think anymore

 

Klaire rubbed her hands together, crinkling her nose and looking up at the dark sky above her. The sky was bright, scattered stars lighting it up brilliantly. She crossed her arms over her chest and stared up at the moon. It was night now, and still she had found no place to go. She sighed and looked around her, the crowds of people finally dispersing with the exception of a girl approaching a fountain. Klaire blinked. She wasn't sure how to talk to people, but maybe this girl knew somewhere she could go. She breathed out and walked toward her.

"Excuse me?"

Bio/History: Born into the lowest class of society her life didn't start out inn a great way. Her family where poor and instead of getting a job decided that stilling where more to their liking. So growing up she learned a few tricks here and there. At a age of 17, she decided that a life as a thief didn't suite her. Instead she got a job in the military serving the homeland. Which turned out to be a bad move seeing the war that came and everything. But what can you do.

Blade let out a sigh. "Some people..." he muttered, He took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. The area around him was dull and boring, the only thing really moving being teh girl. He could see it all though.Not with his eyes, but through feeling, using his spiritual energy. The energy was barely noticible, but it had spread throughout the entire area, centering around him. It was the very thing which allowed use of his telekenisis. It allowed him to manipulate almost everything, except for human beings.
At that moment, before the scythe could hit him, it stopped in midair, and instead of falling, began to rise into the air. "It was clever, but still desperate..." he muttered. He started to use his telekenisis to pull one of his swords out of the wall, and aimed it at Jane, taking his dear time to aim it at her.

Jane tried to push the scythe down but it wouldn't move. What's going on? Then she heard the sword comming towards her. It was a slow movement but she could barely hear the ringing of the blade as it went through the air.

While Blade was distracted by Jane, Ben took his chance to attack. He swung his sword around and then smashed it down towards Blade.

Clara nodded to Drake. "Children, no matter what's going on, they are too ignorant to worry about it, their innocence is remarkable. And they always seem to make people smile......Oh my!" Clara said as she just noticed how dark it was outside. She had missed the second part of her shift!

Annabell continued to walk towards the fountain silently. She stopped in front of the fountain and watched as the water spewed out of the angels mouth. The glittering of the coins caught her eye. Within the fountain there were hundreds of small coins, not worth very much. It was a wishing fountain. Fingering the change in her pocket she took out a gold coin. Maybe the more worth the coin is, the higher chance you have of your wish coming true. She thought. She took it out, and threw it in the air making her wish. Just then a voice interupted her thinking "Excuse me?" it said. She turned around to face the person, as the coin plopped into the fountain. A girl stood in front of her, it was dark out so she was wondering why someone was out and about, especially a girl. "What can I help you with?" Annabell asked kindly.

Maria was lying down in the grass, she watched the clear sky above her. She could feel the breeze in her hair, Maria yawned feeling tired from traveling. She she turned to her left and noticed her bag. She reached it and took out a map of the area. She sat up and began drawing lines for where she should go. She'd been lucky and escaped capture from the Maderin's. The only problem now was that she was alone without a commanding officer. She needed to find out if there where anyone else that managed to escape.

"OH, i was skipping down the street when i met a pretty dog, It was so happy and barking. So i torched it where it was. It ran around in pain and it was so much fun. Then i killed a family and ate a cookie in the sun." Cailen sang, while skipping down the street. Even though he sang about these horrible things. The smile on his face was so innocent and happy. It was like looking into the face of a kid. Cailen kept singing and skipping down the road. With a half eaten cookie in his right hand, and a bloody cloth in his other.

 

Drake looked at her remembering his own childhood. All this talk seemed to be giving him a headache which made him put one hand on his head. "whats wrong?" Drake said when he noticed her say oh my

 

"It's so late, I'm going to get so fired!" Clara said, but then noticed him put his hand to his head. "Are you ok? What's wrong?" Clara asked, her expression showed deep concern, even though she didn't even know the man's name yet.

 

"its nothing just a headache. You should go" Drake said still holding his head

 

"I work at an Inn, you can stay there if you'd like, free of charge, I can pull some stings. It must be a really bad headache....but....what about them?" Clara said looking over at Jane, Ben and Blade.

Suddenly Annabel heard someone singing cheerfully, but the words weren't very cheerful, they were really creepy. She looked at the man skipping down the street.

 

"they can take care of themselves" Drake said and suddenly used the wall for support. He could hear voices in his mind and these voices seemed to be troubling his mind

 

Clara quickly took a step closer to him when he clutched the wall. "C'mon, I'll take you to the Inn." She said gently grabbing his arm, letting him lean on her for support as they walked down the alley towards the Inn. Before they reached the end of the alleyway she took one last looke behind her at Jane and the others.

 

"why? why are you helping me?" Drake said as he leaned on her for support

 

Klaire blinked, walking towards the girl a bit more before stopping. She breathes out and looked around nervously, she wasn't used to conversing with people. But this girl seemed nice enough.

"I was wondering..." She cleared her throat awkwardly, crossing her arms and trying to sort out her thoughts. "If...You know where I could go, maybe to rest for a bit? An inn or anything?" She finally asked.

 

"Because you need help. I wouldn't be able to get on with my day if I knew that I had just left someone who needed help. Especially if I have the power to help them..............oh there's the inn." Clara said as they approached a very small building squished in between to other buildings, the sign above the door said, "White Wing Inn". They walked up the few steps and Clara opened to wooden door. Inside it was more like a bar, there were men everywhere drinking and laughing. On the far wall there was the bar, a door that led to the kitchen, and stairs that led to the rooms. "It's not the most well known inn, but it works." Clara said. Some men smiled at her as she walked by with Drake, others said hello. She was obviously well known. She set Drake down on one of the stools then walked up to the bar tender, and bowed her head, while he gave her a stern glance. "And where were you Clara?" He asked as he glanced at Drake. "I'm terribly sorry Mr. Gib, it's kind of a long story, but this man could use a room." Clara said, her head still bowed. Mr. Gib gave one last look to Clara then at Drake. "For you Clara, but don't make a habit of this, I can't keep giving stray dogs a bed for free." He said, refering to Drake as a stray dog. Clara looked up happily, "Thank you so much sir!"

Annabel looked back at the girl. "Oh..um.. yeah I think I passed one on my way here, it's called the White Wing Inn or something.... it's back that way." She said pointing to the street she had just come from.
