I made this over the summer. I made it in case anyone that had never played the original GBA game wonder the difference between cut scenes in the original and remake.
The differences are in the GBA original there was only a small number of cut scenes. In the opening and both Sora's and Riku's endings there is no voice acting but there is music that never made it into the PS2 remake(Im talking about the endings in the remakes dont have music in case your confused).

    The look relatively the same.

Anyway, I noticed that the remake had some cutscenes that the GBA one didn't have.

Oh wow, I've never played the gameboy version and I'm actually quite impressed with the fact it could have cutscene like that on it. With or without voice that's more than I'd expect from the GBA(though I still love mine).

Great work putting this together Kira.

    Great job!
I've never played the GBA Version, and I didn't think it had cutscenes at all - I thought it was all that little chat-text thing.

The thing with the GBA cutscenes is that there a far fewer of them and they are compressed to hell (and the aspect ratio is skewed for the GBA screen). But you also have to think about the generation it is in. Having FMVs anywhere was huge. I mean GBA had come out with cartridges dedicated to video not even a year before CoM, and what Square came out with was often compared to those. Even if it wasn't for long, kudos to them.

As for why they look the same, that would be the fact that they are identical. The FMVs were constructed using PS2 level modeling, recorded, and compressed down into the FMV. All they did for Re:CoM was take the recording before the compression state.
