One day after our ISP change, I tried to use the Internet on my phone, and I can't get connected. I tried again yesterday and today, and I still get this:
Well, what kind of ISP are you running now? What kind of router? I can't really say much else until I get that info, i'll edit this post if I can get a bit more info.
We switched from Fairpoint Communications to Charter Communications. Unlike Fairpoint's modem that had four ports, Charter's only had one, so we had to get a router to be able to hook up both of our computers.
Alright, but now I'll need to know what kind of wireless router you have (i'm used to having built in) and I can try and help you out from there.
Alright, here's a few of the possible causes of the problem (I can't obviously be sure without being able to test in person but . . .) 1. You're putting incorrect information into the phone. Check to see what it asks for when you try and connect to the Belkin router. (There's usually a code on the router to allow access) 2. The security on your ISP's modem isn't allowing you to access it through the wireless, in which case you would have to go around the settings on a computer. (Open your web browser and type in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and hit enter) You'll want to go to the ISP site and try and find a guide to help you find the security settings. I'm not familiar with the company or the hardware. 3. The problem is something that can't be resolved alone, and you should call the company for assistance. They would know more about this than me. Hope any of this helped, and hope you can get your phone to work ^_^
