Cartoon Network's slate of new programming will include 13 new animated series, 19 returning shows, and the newest live-action scripted comedy series Level Up. Returning shows include fourth season renewals of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Total Drama. Looks like Ben 10 as well. Hoping Young Justice and Generator Rex stay.

Brief overview and my personal thoughts of new series:

The Looney Tunes Show: A modern comedy with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Speedy Gonzales, and tons of other Looney Tunes. I'm definitely watching this. Really hoping it doesn't ruin my childhood, though.

Level Up: Three high schoolers open a portal from a video game into the real world. Virtual characters start leaking into the real world so the kids have to balance their everyday lives with extraoridnary things that are showing up. (Exectuve produced by Peter Murrieta from Wizards of Waverly Place, Hope and Faith) I might give this a shot as well. Reminds me of Code Lyoko and one show that I don't remember where the guy's mom went missing and he journeyed into a video game or something to find the truth?

The Problem Solverz: Three "crazy young dudes, Horace, Roba, and Alfe" are part of "unorthodox" detectives ready to solve the mysteries of the universe. Eh, maybe it's just the description of "young crazy dudes" and the z in the name, but I feel like this show is going to try too hard to mimic young people and be "rad" to the point where it sucks.

Secret Mountain Fort Awesome: From one of the men behind Chowder, a hilarious new comedy (because not all comedys are hilarious) about a "mega-rad" group of monsters that live underground and do crazy awesome stuff like "steal the sun, fight CGI-sharks, and get their butts kicked by a velociraptor." The description makes me feel the same way I do about Problem Solverz and I think it'll be one of those plotless shows. Then again, it is a comedy. I might give this one a shot or two, though. I want to see velociraptors and sharks >>

Total Drama: Revenge of the Island: Because the show went worldwide, the camp is now a toxic nuclear waste dump...and the perfect place for a new season of challenges with 13 wild new players. I never liked Total Drama so I don't really care about this.

How to Train Your Dragon: Hiccup is a young Viking who defies tradition when he befriends one of his deadliest foes: a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless. The description says it's a CG-animated series based on the film. I wonder how it'll work out, if it'll use the movie as a source or if it'll branch away from it? I think I'll watch, I loved the movie (though I never read the book).

The Amazing World of Gumball: A family of a stay-at-home dad (a 6'4" pink rabbit), a mom that works in the rainbow factory, Gumball (blue cat with giant head), Anais (4-year-old genius bunny) and Darwin (pet goldfish with legs). Combines 2D and 3D animation techniques in a live action setting. This one just seems completely random. I'm hoping the animation doesn't disappoint because that's the only part that's interesting me so far.

New Ben 10 Series: Cartoon Network's most successful original series continues. Don't know about the details yet. They're milking this cow. Ultimate Alien left something to be desired, it didn't compare to Alien Force or the original, but I'm still watching.

Thundercats: Us oldies already heard about this. A reimagining of the original. I feel the same way about this as I do about Looney Tunes. Giving it a shot, but my childhood's at stake.

Green Lantern: The Animated Series: <3 Hal Jordan's never faced anything like this. It's CG animated, set at the farthest reaches of deep space. Hal must face down an invasion from the Red Lantern Corps before being joined by an all-new group of heroes on a mission to protect Guardian Space and the Green Lantern Corps itself! I didn't expect to see the Red Lanterns here. I wonder if they'll have an episode where Hal becomes a Red Lantern like in the comics? Needless to say, I'm watching this. I hope to see the other human Green Lanterns and the other Lantern Corps (Sinestro Corps, Star Sapphire, Orange, Indigo Tribe, Blue Lanterns...maybe even the Black Lanterns? Will this lead up to a Blackest Night thing? Doubt it, but I can hope).

RedaKai: Conquer the Kairu: A 15-year-old ancient martial arts student adventures to find a primordial alien force. With the help of his friends, he travels the world to protect the alien force from his "extraterrestrial teenage opponents." I need a bit more info before I decide whether or not I like the idea of this one. But martial arts seems fun.

    DC Nation:
An inside look into the "world of all things DC." It's an effort to "better integrate DC Comics with the company's film and TV divisions." So more of an informational than a program? Either way, I'm watching this, too of course.

Lego Ninjago: After a time of peace in Ninjago, four ninja heroes face a new enemy: Lloyd Garmadon, son of their archenemy Lord Garamdon. Lloyd's unleashed a new evil, unique powers, all of the land in jeopardy, etc. etc. Eh, seems worth at least one shot.

    Generator Rex and Young Justice better stay. I love those shows to death. ;~;

Anyway, I'm not too sure how I'm going to receive the Looney Toons and Thundercats shows, but I'll hold out hope. (I liked the new Scooby Doo series they made, so hoping it may be something like that?)

After Young Justice, I'm sure the DC shows won't disappoint. But iirc, weren't they trying to integrate the DC Universes in Young Justice? But whatever. As long as there's moar Teen Titan cameos. 8D

Secret Mountain Fort Awesome might be good; Adventure Time, Regular Show and Flapjack are/were. I wasn't particuarly too fond of Chowder, but I guess I'll tune in.

Level Up does sound a lot like Code Lyoko. xD I loved the latter, so I'll be watching this one as well.

Ben 10 is beginning to sadden me. >:
The end of the first Ultimate Alien season pretty much set up the end of Ben's travels. The Kevin fight at the end annoyed me to no end, since all it seemed to be was just milkin' the cash cow. And this season's been nothing but "Hey Ben? We still think you're a dick even though you haven't been acting as much of one. ...Did we mention you're a dick?"

I guess I'll watch, but this better be it for Ben's story. If anything, perspective should go to Ken after this. /rant

Anyway, thanks for the update Buenozeloserpants! c:

I'm happy to see that CN is going putting more cartoons back on the network (pun intended :3). I'm kinda sick of going through the channels and seeing those stupid reality shows on the channel. The Looney Tunes Show looks quite interesting, hopefully they don't screw it over.

The new Thundercats looks really disappointing tbh. Then again I said this about Transformers: Animated and I loved it.
I'm only giving new Thundercats a chance because it is being made by Studio 4C

As for How to Train Your Dragon I am shocked. Why would Dreamworks give one of their productions to Nick as they give one to Cartoon Network?

Total Drama needs to go away.

I also hope Young Justice stays. I have not had a chance to watch alot of it.

Well, since I don't have Cartoon Network, I'm watching Generator Rex for the first time right now.

2 minutes into the first episode, I have this to say: They better f***in' keep this one.

On one hand I appreciate how they're incorporating previously successful shows into today's genertion, then on the other, they may screw it up. Modern shows like Total Drama and Ben10 are just being milked now.

    Yes. Oh. My goodness. Yes.
And at the same time: **** no.

    I just severely hope it doesn't screw things up. ;~;

Total Drama was original and served as almost a satire when it was just the first one, Total Drama Island (although I can't say I watched it often). After that, I remain going "...really?"
By the way, the only truly good show that has come from the same production company as Total Drama (FreshTV) was 6Teen. I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY. :B|:

The Looney Toons show looks promising, but I wish they would just get rid of the total drama saga. It's like the same show with the same characters over and over again. The first season was ok but i think it kinda went downhill after that......

So is there any word on Sym-Bionic Titan or is it going the same way as Genndy Tartakovsky's other work? I mean, Samurai Jack was unceremoniously canceled before the initial order was finished, Dexter's Lab was given to another studio that made the last season or two absolute crap and the Clone Wars miniseries keeps getting retconed by the new (and vastly inferior) Clone Wars series.

Oh God. *Bangs head on Keyboard* CN is really doing their best. Hopefully 1 out of every 3 shows will be good like last line-up.

sigh...What happened to you CN?!?!?! I swear...once they put real life people on that network...it went downhill at 1000mph...

The only show I've been watching on it is Young Justice. How to train your dragon will be interesting. Just hope it doesn't get messed up.....

Cartoon Network used to be really good when I was growing up. It even got me to get up early on Saturdays. Which was like a miracle. But now it's so stupid. I tried watching some of the new cartoons... My god.... How could they mess up something so bad? It's as if they took the worst ideas they had and released them all just to see what happened. I like the old cartoons that had stuff kids and adults would like. Like they would put in little jokes that adults would understand and kids wouldn't even really think about it. That is what they need to start doing again. Don't believe me? Try rewatching some of those good old Disney movies again. Not the new ones. The older ones. Hunchback of Notre Dame is a good start.

Those are all shows that are currently airing on Cartoon Network. They still put adult jokes in "kid" shows and get it past the censors and they STILL do it incredibly unsubtly.

It doesn't matter if they all suck. If it's a terrible show then it doesn't matter how many little jokes they put in.

Except for the fact that Sym-Bionic Titan (which was created by the same genius that created and/or directed three shows from Cartoon Network's golden age,) Regular Show, Scooby Doo: Mystery, Inc and Adventure Time are considered Cartoon Network's best shows in years. How many of these shows did you actually watch before declaring them garbage?

However, you made a claim that subtle adult jokes were what they needed to put in to make good shows again, and I provided evidence that they have never stopped putting in subtle adult jokes. Under your "logic" this makes them good shows.

You don't get it. Let's take a look at one of the most violent cartoons I have ever watched. Tom and Jerry. Now that I look back I don't think cartoons got much more violent then that. Now that is a show adults and kids could sit through without complaining to much. Popeye. Now there's a show. It is pretty much about Pluto bullying Popeye at any chance he can get. Popeye then eats his spinach and whoops him. I could list several other shows. But what's the point? There is no point to it. The last cartoon I watched was Spongebob I guess. Which pretty much sucks now that I think back. It is one of the worst shows I have ever watched. Comparing Spongebob to great titans like Popeye or Tom and Jerry is just insulting. Even hit shows like Aladdin or Hercules could easily beat any of the shows now. So I say it again. If the show is stupid then it could have hundreds of dirty jokes and I still wouldn't watch it. Back then they would have shows that adults and kids would enjoy but they would also throw in some jokes kids wouldn't understand just for the fun of it. I didn't mean to make it sound like the jokes were the only thing that made them watch the shows.
