Okay, so today during lunch, I took some Freshmen from my Systems of the Earth class to McDonald's; on the way back, I noticed that the engine light came on.

Last time, the first time, this happened, the gas cap was just not on tight.
However, I tried tightening the gas cap, and the engine light is still not going off.

When we took it in last, they said that as long as it's not flashing, it's nothing major, and it's not flashing, but if it isn't the gas cap like it was last time, what else could it be?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Unfortunately, I can't get in contact with my mom because she's in court all afternoon.

Well, it was the gas cap again, just like we thought.

We lost our original gas cap a long time ago, so we had to replace it with a generic gas cap, which I guess isn't right for the car, so the pressure is sometimes off, which makes the engine light come on.

The guy also thought it might be an evaporation leak, which is also not really major.
He just said to bring it in if it goes on again, and they'll do a smoke test to determine whether there's a leak or we just need to buy a Toyota gas cap (our car is a Toyota Corolla).

Anyway, this can be locked now.
