I was playing around in TWTNW and I had Riku in my party. I noticed two things about Riku's Keyblade, Way to the Dawn:
1)It had a striking similarity to his sword from Kingdom Hearts 1 and CoM. If you don't believe me take a look here: http://images.wikia.com/kingdomhearts/images/d/d4/SoulEater.jpg (soul eater) and here: http://images.wiki.wegame.com/i/371XoPGt.png (way to the dawn)
2)Way to the Dawn's keychain is a heartless symbol. This made me wonder if Way to the Dawn is the Heartless version of Soul Eater. Does that mean that there is a Nobody version of Soul Eater? And that made me wonder if all weapons, Keyblades included, have a Heartless and Nobody version too. I could just be grasping at straws here, but tell me what you think.
P.S. Sorry about the title. It was supposed to say can Keyblades have Heartless/Nobodies?

I don't know, it seems since Keyblades are weapons to oppose Heartless and Nobodies, it doesn't seem possible, but Riku did use the sword when he was a heartless. It could be possible, I guess.

    Let me clear somethings up

    Riku was NEVER a Heartless
being possessed by a Heartless is different than having your heart taken by one.
His BODY was possessed by the Heartless (Ansem/Xehanort's Heartless).

Way to the Dawn is an EVOLVED Soul Eater
Soul Eater changed to a keyblade of both light and darkness to reflect Riku's change of heart from darkness to darkness and light.
Soul Eater was not a keyblade (right?) and it also changed once he accepted the light because of Riku's connection to the keyblade he was originally the master of.

The keychain is not the exact Heartless symbol, its Riku version of it.
It most likely represents Riku's connection to the Heartless, or his use of darkness

    Quoted for truth.

Riku's keychain lacks the "X" going through it, thus probably making it the symbol of the darker hearts.

I think Keyblades can have Heartless and Nobodies, and even Unbirths if they are clarified in BBS. We all know Goofy and Donald have weapons that were won from Nobodies and Heartless. For example, in Kingdom Hearts, Goofy could obtain a Defender's sheild, and Donald could recieve a Wizard's staff.

In Kingdom Hearts II, Goofy could obtain one of those Bookkeeper-Heartless's books as a shield (thus becoming the second "Death By Literature" character in the series), and Donald could get the staff from the Dragoon.

And, to top it off, in Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix +, Sora could obtain Two-Across after fighting Roxas. Donald could get Lexaeus's Tomohawk, and Goofy could get Vexen's sheild.

But if you're talking about Keyblades actually having a Heartless/Nobody/Unbirth form, look at Roxas and Xion. Sora, if awake at the time, could wield the Kingdom Key. Xion and Roxas each had identical Kingdom Keys that they could use at the same time. And Sora could use Oblivion or Oathkeeper at the same time Roxas used them in his fight with Sora. So, yes, they can, but not in different forms. =]

Just to note wasn't the heartless sign the sign Xehanort put on the heartless? Maybe the keychain is representing Xehanort?

Who knows..I have noticed that myself.Riku's weapon is black and red.The blade.But...I think it's because of the trials that Riku had to go through. But he finally got a keyblade.
