This morning I woke up to my dog barking. I thought of course that she needed to go outside. So, I got up and walked down to my living room to see her staring into the kitchen and barking. And it didn't sound like a 'I'm asking for something' kind of bark, like when she DOES have to go outside, but like she doesn't know what something is. It just freaked me out.

She does this a lot, actually she's doing it as I type. Mostly it's when she's a foot from the wall and facing it, or looking into the guest room, where weird stuff happens quiet often (stuff moving, crying like sounds).

After looking at this, I asked to myself:
Can animals see what we cannot?

The Brain is a complicated thing even for other animals. They can sense natural disasters.Maybe they can sense the Paranormal.Maybe they can sense the presents of people that never pass.

I've heard this from somewhere, and may probably be a hoax, but someone once told me that animals and little kids can see spirits in their true form.

Guess they have a more paranormal part of their brain in sync.

I'm not really sure. It could be possible. It's kinda true how animals sense danger from a natural disaster. It'd be better if we could understand animals better.

Animals can have what many call a sixth sense. Meaning they know things that humans don't usually see or hear. It's very possible that your dog can still smell a human that lived there before you if you bought the house after someone or that this is actually proof of the paranormal.

I've heard that too of little kids. It's something about their innocence and their opinions and minds haven't been touched with great emotions.

I know that animals can sense things (like earthquakes) but I don't think that they actually see things (like spirits), their senses are just a lot more powered up than humans.

You could call it a 'sixth sense'. Animals are more connected to the world than we are, maybe by certain instincts or spiritually, alll I know is that animals are always the first to know what is going on around the living world.

It's possible. The problem is we can't really "see" into their minds, so it's kind of difficult.
But, we already have seen that animals can sense and smell things humans can't.
My grandmother used to have breast cancer; once of my aunt's dogs, Rocky, a German shepherd, smelled the area in her breast where the tumor was. I presume she smelled the cancer, but was not trained to identify it.
I am sure we will learn more about animals in the near future...:)

    Thats sort of true...

There's this person I know [And cannot say, because I don't feel that he'd like it if I said ''So-and-so has cancer] has cancer, and there's this dog in my friend's house that keeps on barking at him whenever he comes near... The dog never used to do that to the person and well... The person doesn't want to go near dogs anymore...

The dog almost attacked him, for crying out loud!

I think that some animals do have a 'sixth sense' that allows them to see and do things we cannot. Your dog may be seeing a spirit or sensing that an accident is about to happen. I would bet on the former seeing as no one has chopped off a finger or something after your dog panics.

I think its possible. My dogs do that all the time. They're barking at something but I don't see anything. And its true that animals can sense natural disaster.I think they start barking and going crazy when they're sensing a natural disaster.

I started to research this last night and found that some believe that animals, especially dogs, are more sensitive to high energy that we can't pick up...
And people also believe that spirits that have passed are just energy, resulting on how a dog might know if there might be something different there.

Well I doubt dogs can, which is why they have excellent hearing and smell (to make up for what they dont have) but I heard that butterflies can see a color we cannot...

Let's face it, aside from our brains capacity for information synthesis and gathering we are at the low end of every totem pole when compared to animals. Pretty much every animal can one up us in one way or another. Example, dogs acuity of hearing and smell are more than three times a humans. Bees can see into the invisible spectrum of light, I believe it's ultraviolet, could be wrong. Elephants can hear infrasound, or sound that is of a lower frequency than any human can hear. Sharks can sense electricity at great distances. Anyways, animals do in fact notice things we don't and react to them as we react to things we perceive. Supernatural abilities are unlikely as we can pretty much explain all of the ways animals see, hear, smell, taste, or feel more than we do. The disaster warning is probably a result of animals that can hear and/or feel it coming, or sense it some other way. Interesting, yes. Paranormal, most certainly no.

Ahh... That was put into a great perspective... And now, I guess I might change my opinion.
