Note: The original title of this thread was 6,000 Copies of Modern Warfare 3 Stolen in Truck Heist.
However, since this has turned into a multiple-game discussion, I had Stardust change the title.

You know, if they're going to do this, they should at least steal a better game. =P

    Anyway...

Wow what in the world would two people do with 6000 MW3 copies?

But better games won't be as valuable to the thieves trying to resell the copies.

Occupy ALL the TVs at Best Buy.

Or sell them, probably that, more epically the former. Although they'll have to be sneaky seeing as it isn't out yet.
Wait...it sounds like I'm condoning this...don't steal kids, it's bad.

.....those theives need to get their prioities straight. I mean, if you're going to steal a game, at least steal one that's already out and other people have, instead of stealing 6000 copies of a game that's only just coming out, and you won't have a use for 5999 of them.
Still, I can't believe they actually robbed games.

Are you serious? Stealing a new and anticipated (though probably crappy) game is the type of game you want to steal. People pay big money for an early release, even just a day early, and it's something you'd sell at a black market. And get a shit ton of money for.
    Lets go with US gameprice,
    $60
    $60 * 6000
    = $360000
    Thats quite the gain.

Great news judgement there. Must have been a slow day at the office.

Seviper's right. At least steal a better game.

But I wonder how this will effect MW3's sales.

It won't affect it at all. They can probably make 6,000 copies in half a day. It's an anticipated game that will sell millions of copies. 6,000 mere copies will mean nothing to the sales.

Congrats to them for stealing it, it must not have been easy pulling off the heist. As for affecting the sales, it could go either way. People could rush to try and see WHY they were stolen (what made them want to steal it and the like), or they could think something was done to them, or even think "what if this is one of the stolen copies? Can i get in trouble?"

    That's tough

I hate Call of Duty with a passion, but to steal 6,000 copies. One you have no life, and once you got that may copies then what sell it for a higher price? Keep them like what was the point in all of that honestly. I mean hey you sell them all and get caught you can pay off all the money you owe, just not have enough for a lawyer, pay for your bail and all of that. So I mean yea that's tough when you get caught. And if you can't sell em all then screwed either way stealing, getting banned so good job ~,^

Why are you congratulating armed robbery? Just because it isn't easy means it was a justifiable or right thing to do.

And if you buy from a reputable game retail company who have already purchased the games to sell, I highly doubt they'd hire further people to steal more. If you buy from your friend from across the street who says he knows a guy, then you might want to keep your wits about you.

Lol at all of you telling them to steal something else. If I had a truck full of games to steal I would take MW3 too, easily the most and fastest profit.

Also loving MW3 at the moment. Haters gonna hate.

    Glad you're enjoying it ^^

Also, at least 1/2 of my classmates were off school playing MW3.

That's what I was thinking. However, even though I don't doubt it is an entertaining game, that doesn't make the technical aspect of it good, if you know what I mean (Story, graphics, gameplay, etc, it's a brogame so most people do the MP part of it)

I haven't played the campaign yet so I couldn't answer that. But yeah I play cod for the multiplayer, and it's easily one of the best in that category. Also the new Kill Confirmed game type is a lot of fun.

Care to elaborate on that? I have no plans of getting the game, because I have BF3, but that sounds like a... strange(?) game type.

It's basically a team deathmatch that forces you to work as a team. You get kills like in regular TDM but your team doesn't get points until they collect the dog tags you drop when you die. Also you can deny kills from the opposite team by collecting fallen team mates' tags.

Bah, I don't see the point in these kind of robberies.
I mean sure the motive is money, but who exactly in their right mind would do this? It doesn't even seem as though it was planned, although the fact that they were carrying tear gas may prove otherwise.
