Brought to Life

Grace laughed lightly. "Hold your sea horses." she said, also stepping away from the water and looking at the other two. "Lead the way, sir and lady?" she asked the Teal Princess and Prince, smiling through her formal words.

 

Ame looked at Eric "Your going to miss the sea aren't you" she said with a faint smile. She looked straight ahead "I'm gonna miss it too but we just need to find the others.." Ame said looking at the sky.

 

Eric mentally shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Of course I'll miss the sea, but that is hardly important at this point." he answered honestly before changing the subject. "We'll have to go to a town soon. I think that's where the others will be, at least Mia and Lucca if Mia's obssesion with humans is any indicator."

 

"How much longer?" Sakura asked. "We've been walking a while now."

 

"It's this one," Mia told Sakura as she pointed to the apartment complex two buildings down. She added in a whisper, "I think it's smart how two-leggers share one big house."

Lucca led them inside and into the elevator. "Don't freak out, alright?" He addressed Sakura. The doors closed and he pressed the luminecent button that had the number 7 on it.

 

Grace tilted her head in curiousity as she watched the elevator doors open for them. "That will take us up..." she said to herself, trying to figure it out. "Because humans can't move without a floor" she turned her gaze to Lucca to confirm this.

 

Sakura let out a shrill, long giggle, both at the elevator and at Grace's comment. She clasped her hands together and hopped into the elevator, spinning in circles while they waited to move up.

 

Grace laughed at her friend's antics. "Calm down Sakura, someone will think you're hurt." she giggled, getting into the elevator to and looking at the panel of buttons with interest.

 

Sakura froze and frowned, her lower lip sticking out and quivering. Her eyes got bigger and bigger until fake tears swelled in them and she let out a small whimper.

 

Grace, falling for the act, gasped and took both of Sakura's hands in hers. "Don't cry! I was only kidding. I'm sorry Sakura."

 

Sakura sniffed and blinked. "Okay..." she sighed dramatically. "Only if we get to ride the elevator again..."

 

"Well we still have to go up the first time..." Grace pointed out gently,still afraid Sakura would cry again. "We don't know which button they're on."

 

"It's seven!" Sakura exclaimed, pointing to the button Lucca had pushed. "We're going to seven... eventually..."

 

"Unfortunately, these things aren't all that fast," Mia smiled sourly. "But it's a lot better than climbing the stairs."

 

Grace smiled at Mia's comment but turned back to Sakura, more interested in the contraption than it's lack of speed. "Are the human's rooms like ours at home at all?" she asked the two.

 

"Yes!" Sakura said in addition to the question. "With lots of shells and jewels and pink... things!" She giggled as the elevator dinged once more, announcing their arrival at their floor.

 

Getting out, Lucca answered the question, "The general shape is the same, but everything is reachable from the floor. There are barely any decoration unless you do them yourself. And they've all closed ceilings."

 

Sakura gasped as they walked. "No!" he exclaimed. "That's very odd... I don't like it here."

 

"Of course they have closed ceilings, other wise they couldn't have so many rooms on top of each other and there wouldn't be a need for the elevator." Grace tried 'logicly' explaining to Sakura, allthough he didn't much like it either, finding it far to closed in.

BIC: Sakura nodded, trying to look like she professionally understood the logistics of the building. "What room number is it on this floor?" she asked.
