Brought to Life

Sakura led the way back to the pink building, closing the flap on her bag of food.

"Are you sure we should trust this woman?" she asked Grace after a moment.

 

Eric nodded, "You heard her, hurry up." he growled at the guard. The frightened man fumbled for the lever and let the door open with a crash. Eric let out a harsh breath. "Darn it..." he knew the other guards would come running at that so he pulled tighter on the man's neck until he passed out. At least he's not dead... "Come on." he took Ame's hand again and swam as fast as he could out of the doors.

"We're not telling her anything important." Grace pointed out. "Even if she's not really trustworthy, she's just helping us for alittle while."

 

Sakura nodded as they reached the shop and went inside. "Hi," she said as they entered, her voice just loud enough to carry across the room.

 

Abby looked up from the register. "Hello again. I'm all finished with work for now. Are you two ready?" she asked cheerfully.

Grace nodded eagerly. "Yes, we're all set." she answered, hoping against hope that the lady would help them find the others.

 

OOC: i suddenly have this weird vision from the spongebob movie of that creepy old lady with the fake ice cream... "come get some ice cream, kiddies!!"

BIC: "Where's the best place to look?" Sakura asked quickly, wanting as many answers as she could get.

 

OOC: pshh! that's not where i'm going with this at all! >>....<<....>> *cough*

BIC: "The school?" Abby guessed. "If the two are your age anyways, that's where I would start." she walked out of the building and held the door for the two girls.

 

OOC: gasp! tension! :glomp: my mommy loves you btw

BIC: Sakura muttered a small thank you and grabbed Grace's hand. Let's just see what happens...

 

OOC: i love her too! :glomp:

BIC: Grace squeezed Sakura's fingers and walked out with Abby. if anything happens i won't let her get hurt. she decided, looking at her nervous companion.

Abby led the way down the street towards the local highschool. She told the girls about different stores they passed and who sold what.

 

"Are there lots of boys at these schools?" Sakura asked, not really wanting to hear the answer.

 

Abby turned to look at Sakura with a puzzled look. "Well, yes. It's a public school. I suppose there are as many boys as girls."

Grace glanced to Sakura, silently asking with her eyes if Sakura was going to be alright with that.

 

"Well..." Sakura stuttered. "It's just... some schools have... boys only, so..." She faded off, embarrassed.

 

"Ah... well not this one..." Abby still didn't understand but she tried her best to explain. "You said one of your little friends was a girl, so we're going to the co-ed school. I assume they would be together from what you said."

Grace nodded. "I"m sure they will be." she agreed.

 

Sakura bit the corner of her lower lip. She sighed when she saw the school in front of them now, looking around at all the children there.

 

Abby lead them around the school yard, looking for someone who matched the discription and asking after the two.

While she was busy, Grace turned to Sakura. "What's wrong?" she asked.

 

"I just don't think they're here," Sakura whispered. "I mean... I just have a feeling, you know?"

 

Grace looked over the crowd of kids Abby was going through. "Yeah, i know what you mean..." she agreed half heartedly. She wanted so much to find them that giving into that feeling felt like cutting down their options.

 

Sakura sighed, kind of discouraged. "Now what?" she whispered.

 

"It's only the first place she's shown us. Let's ask where else we can look." Grace answered, leading Sakura back to Abby. "Um, Abby, we don't think they are here. Where else would they be?"

Abby looked at the two and tapped her chin in thought. "Let me think. Kids hang out at the coffee shop, the beach, the shopping center..." she thought aloud.

Grace's attention caught at 'beach'. Would they really go there?

 

"What's your damage?" Mia complained to her older brother as he dragged her away. "He was just being nice."

"He wasn't 'being nice,' Mia," Lucca sighed. "Human boys have only one thing on their mind."

"What's that?" Mia asked.

"If you don't know, then never mind," Lucca answered.

 

Eric didn't actually know the answer to her question until he spotted a small cave hidden under some plants. "There." he answered, "Until they pass us, then we go up." he nodded towards the far away surface of the water before heading into the cave. "Go in first." he instructed, so that she could be hidden better.
