Brought to Life

Sakura smiled and jumped over to Mia, throwing her arms around her neck, touching noses. "We can stay with you, right?" she giggled.

 

"It's best if we're not separated," Lucca said. "During the time Mia and I have been here, there hasn't been much trouble; but I don't know when something's going to happen."

Mia squeezed Sakura and spun in a circle. "This'll be fun! All we need is a place for you to sleep." She set the smaller princess down.

 

"Yay!" Sakura exclaimed, not thinking about the details. "This is awesome!"

 

Grace smiled and rocked from her heels to toes as she looked around the room, she couldn't find anywhere that seemd good to sleep but assumed they would find something.

 

"There's always the pull-out couch," Lucca reminded his sister. "It's not very comfortable, so I'll sleep on that. Grace or Sakura can take my bed."

"Aw, you're so sweet, Lucca," Mia grinned. Her grin only widened when her brother shot her a deadly stare. She knew he didn't like to be seen as a softy, but she couldn't help teasing him about it.

 

"Woohoo!" Sakura shouted. "Wait... what's a pull-out couch?"

 

Grace shrugged. "Something uncomfortable that you sleep on." she decided, pretty much just quoting Lucca. "Are you sure you want to sleep on it?" she asked him, hating to think they were putting him out of his own bed.

 

"If it's icky," Sakura started matter-of-factly, "we can make it better! Water beds! Water beds! Water beds!" She continued dancing the chant around the room.

 

Grace watched her, trying not to get dizzy as her friend spun around the room. "Sure! where do we get those though?" she asked Lucca and Mia, over her shoulder, blissfuly unaware how expensive said beds were on land.

 

"I hope we don't stay here long enough to aford those," Lucca said. "For now, the only water we can get is in the bath, or the sea at night."

"Lucca's paranoid and won't let us go during the day," Mia whispered to Grace. "He think a two-legger will see and freak out."

 

Grace thought about all the humans she and Sakura had passed ealier. "he has a point about that, but maybe there's a certain human you would want to see you?" she asked and then giggled and hugged her friend before Mia got embarassed. "Just kidding! What's a bath tub?" she asked

 

Sakura let out another high-pitched squeal. "It's so funny," she shrieked, "because she's not kidding! There is a human that wants to see her! And he's super duper cute, too!"

 

Grace glared at Sakura over Mia's shoulder, not letting go of her hug. "Sakura, he is not cute! He's obnoxious and rude." she said back, obviously not a fan of the human boy. "Eh, i mean I was totally kidding! What are you talking about?" she tried to look innocent with big eyes.

 

"Oooh!" Sakura giggled. "We're totally going swimming tomorrow in the middle of the day cause then your boyfriend will see us and he'll love you for sure!"

 

Mia put her hands over Grace's and Sakura's mouths. "Shh! Lucca will kill me."

"I'm still here," Lucca reminded the girls. "Anyway, I'm going to go get some food for us. Just stay here, alright?"

"Of course," Mia nodded with a smile, her hands still covering the girls's mouths. "We'll be good. Don't worry."

Lucca sighed and rolled his eyes. Now he had three princesses to watch over. What a lovely report he'd have to give later. He grabbed the key to the apartment and left, locking the door behind himself.

Mia finally took her hands back. "He's already mad at me for being a ditz. You're going to make it worse."

 

"You're not a ditz!" Sakura pouted. "How could you say that, silly?"

 

"You just have bad tastes in humans." Grace bluntly added. "Like another princess I could mention." she said, gabbing Sakura in the ribs with her elbow before giving her a fond smile. "but you're definetly not a ditz! Lucca's just looking out for you."
