I don't have an article on the details, but I heard it on the news.

Now, if you had cancer and you were on the about to die from it, would you drink breast milk to cure your cancer? What do you think about this?

    EDIT: I've found a source!

Here's the link to this article. http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20061209/bob8.asp

i'm quite skeptical about that. but i guess a source would put my doubts to rest. but anyways, i would if i were about to die. sure it would be weird and i heard that some husbands are curious how it tastes so they take some (not from their wives directy, they usually grab a bottle that was for their baby) and they reported that breast milk apparently tastes fruity (disturbing....). but it's better than dying i suppose. but breast milk has been proven to strengthen the immune system for new borns, i dont' know if the same is true for anyone else besides new borns tho. but i SERIOUSLY doubt that would be the cure to cancer

If it were, yeah. I don't think that its real though. Anyways, if there was a cure, you'd do it right?

I actually heard this somewhere too...
It has to do with the proteins in the milk I think...
Anyways, hellz yeah I'd drink it if I had cancer, even if it wasn't confirmed, better safe and try it then get to heaven and realize it woulda worked.

Breastfeeding has also been linked to increasing intelligence in babies. The milk activates a gene that is in 9 out of 10 babies and can increase their IQ by about 10-20 points.

Not to mention the anti-bodies and proteins and general goodness available free from nature.

More emphasis for this relationship has been placed in the contact and establishment of the intricate parent-infant bond and its stimulation in cognitive development.

The research potential for breast milk is quite large as it's the primary active stimulant in building an infants immune system and promoting healthy growth in cells. It seems quite reasonable to search for a cure there.

@#1 DinestyX: You wouldn't be drinking it directly. the active components in the milk would be synthesized into a retrovirus and we'd all talk it intravenously.

I'd rather take my chances and drink it, I mean, if I was going to die anyways, I'd try anything to survive.

Of course I would drink it if I had cancer! I pretty much agree with Moodkip. If I was going to die, better just try.

I'm pretty sure we wouldn't all be drinking breast milk any way and as someone else suggested, it would be in the form of a shot for the specific required nutrients or there would be pills manufactured. If I had cancer, I'd try it. Why not? At that point, as others mentioned, what's to lose?

...Seriously? It ups to the IQ?

Does this still work if you're over 18? I'd seriously try and breastfeed myself if this is all truth.

If it were proven to be true, as Repliku said above, it would probably be synthesized into a pill form or an injection. Yes, I'm being redundant as this was already stated. XD

i truely dont believe it, cancer is a cellular mutation so i doubt breast milk will do much, but i could be wrong

It's not exactly the milk that's responsible. It has it's biological and health benefits but the cognitive development is more or less stimulated by the contact shared by the mom and infant. And no it doesn't work after infancy, just in case you weren't joking. The onus is on you at around 10-12 years old to start facilitating your own intellectual enhancement via external means.

Bah, I doubt they can turn it into an injection, a pill, yes. I doubt they'd tell us there's breast milk in it though, they'd call it its scientific name. xD
