If these types of threads are annoying, ignore them. Simple.

 

But if there's such a consensus that they're annoying or mundane, is there any reason (apart from "because I want to," "because this is the spam zone," etc.) to keep making them?

 

If you know people don't like these threads, don't make them. Simple.

Aaand I think that's enough back and forth. If you are being annoyed by certain users, you can always feel free to put them on the ignore list and be done with it, or just not reply to the them/their thread in general. However, I also think that if a lot of people are being bothered by a certain joke or thing that you're doing, it's best to take that into consideration and try to tone down on it. Even if it is said jokingly, if something's been said enough about someone's invisibility or their activity, it is just best to let it be because it could make them uncomfortable or annoyed.

I'm not trying to take anyone's side or anything -- both points raised in the discussion are pretty valid. However, coming after people and goading people on to continue coming after you isn't, and to be frank, has happened enough in the past that it's honestly pretty annoying at this point.

 

Just wanted to say that I don't create these threads for any reason other than just to have fun or because I'm bored or whatever. I don't create these because I know it annoys people. If they're annoyed by them, it's because they're choosing to be annoyed by them.

That's how I look at it, anyway.

Also, the point of this thread wasn't invisibility, just FYI.
