Kingdom Hearts II Boss Battle with Roxas

Did anyone try the boss fight with Roxas in KHII Final Mix? If so, what are your opinions on it?

I was so disappointed when I found out the fight between Sora and Roxas was just a cutscene in the original KHII. I mean, they had time for all those Disney bosses but they didn't bother to add in a fight with one of the best game characters ever created! In fact, the new fight with Roxas was the main thing that persuaded me to buy Final Mix once I heard about it.

That being said, the boss itself was (IMO) easily the most difficult story boss fight in the entire series. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing.

 

his data rematch was the only difficult one. last time i played it though i was able to beat him without being hit so now altogether, roxas is simple

 

Well, yeah, once I figured out a strategy for him I beat him easily. You have to win the duel against him at the start, take his 2 keyblades and then don't stop attacking until he dies. It seems risky when you do it but always works if you do it properly.

I'm working on the Data battles now... Some of them are really easy (Marluxia, Zexion) but then others are near to impossible... (Xemnas!!!! Larxene too)

 

Yeah I agree... The Other Promise is easily one of the best Battle themes I've ever heard.

 

Obviously, if you keep fighting the data battle, in time, you're going to figure out your own strategy. Is expected once you got the hang of it.

Despite that, I'm glad Roxas proved to be strong, and Xemnas as well. For being the leader, he was kind of easy to defeat back in KH2). I'm also VERY happy that I keep hearing Larxene was a b**** to fight and was hard as hell =3. Now it makes sense why Marluxia wanted her on his team and she got into the Organization despite the fact that Xemnas is a chauvinistic pig, which is why they aren't girls in the group except two (Nomura said this when figuring that Xemnas wouldn't put a female in charge of Castle Oblivion and switched Marluxia to a male). Maybe that's why Larxene wanted to overthrow his kisser.

That means she could be high on the power rank list. There are some weaknesses, like her health isn't that strong, but they can't make her that hard. Imagine?

Unfortunately, Axel was a breeze, among others as well. Extremely challenging, yet he was a few of the easy ones.

 

I wish they had kept the fight. Since I don't have FM, I missed out on it. They could've at least made him an optional fight like Sephy...

 

Yeah, he wasn't hard AFTER you figured it out. I kept getting frustrated though because it was taking too long to beat him and at his last bar I'd die.
Was there any actual reason they cut out the Roxas battle? Or just...Whatever? I think that's kind of stupid. It would've been fun.

 

He wasnt difficult, It was fun to fight against him :D so i fought him over and over again, and yeah he got too easy -.-

 

he was the hardest boss in the story but very simple during the Data Rematch because you now have Glide.

the moves roxas has could be better, but the reaction command is good.

 

The fight could not have been better. I had the chance to memorize all of his moves and figure out a way to counter them. Personaly, propbably my favorite boss battle of FM.
