Boarding School

Jake sighed as Alyce tried to smile. "You don't have to act, Alyce..." He whispered. "We're all afraid..." He pinched the bridge of his nose warily.

 

"I know." Alyce muttered, slumping against the lockers tiredly. "I'm just getting sick of it all. We never get a break."

 

Jake was feeling tired again but there was no way he would sleep again. Not until they were free of this place.
'Sleeping just causes trouble. Sleeping will get your friends killed. Sleeping won't help...'
He shook his head, his thoughts buzzing around furiously.
"How the heck do we kill a shadow..."

 

"Nami has some theory about a bright enough light getting rid of it..." Alyce muttered, wondering what Nami had ever done with that mega flashlight.

 

"Let's just turn evey light in the school on then. Just light up the entire place." Jake felt streatched and exhausted, a bitterness in his voice.

 

I can't.He said as he then walked toward his dorm.

 

Alyce remained silent and staring at her feet, before muttering, "Are you sure there's no other way out of this school? At this point, I don't even care how dangerous it is."

 

"I could always make a bomb...I...kind of make 'em for fun. My highest power was an F-13 and that should be plenty big enough to take out the wall." Jake rubbed his hands together. "It should only take a day or two if I hurry..."

 

"Okay, then we just have to survive a few more days. Should be easy enough..." Alyce muttered sarcastically, but smiled faintly. "Do I really want to know how you learned to make bombs?"

 

"I needed something to do...I had alot of spare time after I was sent to the orphanage. Bombs helped me escape that place and bombs can sure help us escape from here." He smiled at her and winked. "I'm gonna go get started. Try not to die while i'm gone."
He turned and walked down the hall towards his dorm.

"Don't worry; I won't die on you that easily." She smiled and got up, heading towards her dorm. And now to relax...if that's even possible.

 

Geryl sighed as he saw Jake leave and Alyce leave to.

 

Jake Jasmines voice was in his head.

 

Jake rubbed his eyes in the dark. He had a small light over the desk where he worked as he twisted the end of a wire against the car battery. He jumped when he heard someone call his name, dropping the coil by accident and watching it roll under a shelf.

 

Jake Jasmines voice said louder.
Her mermory sat on his bed.
Your doing it wrong she said.

 

Jake stared around the room. "Great, i'm imagining things..." He knelt down and reached under the shelf, feeling around in the dark for the part he'd droped.

 

Jake Jasmine said.
Your not imagininng she said.

 

Jake stood up fast, hitting his head on the desk.
"Ow..." He looked around the dark room. "Jasmine?" He'd sworn he'd heard her voice that time. He hadn't forgotten her last visit though and he reached for the flashlight on his desk.

 

Jasmine appeared as her normal self on Raxs bed.
Look if your going to point that flashlight at me then go ahead she said and smiled.

 

Jake's eyes widened, trembling suddenly. His guilt came back to him in a gush of memory and he fell against the desk, gripping it with white fingers. "J-jasmine...you..."
