Bloody Nightmare

Balmore Manor~~

Rin nodded in agreement with what Yuka had told her. She had figured that Seth had to have had a life before she came around, but she was happy as long as she was the only one in his life. As long as she was his only "pet" at the moment, that that was fine with her. She then looked up at Yuka. At first, Rin had been terrified by her, but now all of her worries seemed to melt away.

"So," Rin stammered, trying to get her words straight, "how does a human make a vampire fall in love with them?"


Hospital~~

Johanna finally felt safe leaving her daily prison. All the day doctors had left and the sun was now harmless to her. She hurried over to the PICU and searched through the children. Many of them seemed to be focused on other things while others seemed to have taken an early night's rest. The smell of sweet blood was intoxicating, but Johanna had quickly learned to overcome her instincts. She made her way to the last room on the right.

"Thank God," She muttered to herself.

Inside the room was a small girl named Mimi. Even though it was a few hours since seeing her, Johanna knew that her sickness had gotten worse. Mimi was still alive, but just barely. Johanna had to be careful; everyone knew she wasn't on the on-call list (because she planned ahead for the party) and she needed to sneak Mimi out as quickly as possible. Thinking quickly, Johanna jotted down a time of death and removed everything from the small child's body.

"Nurse," the small girl cooed in a weak voice, "where are you taking me."

"I'm gong to make sure you're not sick anymore."

 

~north woods

Annie sat in the kitchen staring at the clock. "what on earth is taking them so long? they should be back by now." she was growing antsy. She wanted to go after her sisters, but knew serena was more than capable of taking care of herself, not to mention she would be super angry at her older twin. Annie kept picking up faint vampire smells and wondered how many there were in this town. She thought about going out to investigate a little.

 

Balmore Manor~

Yuka chuckled heartily, "Vampires cannot love humans, darling. Especially Seth. He's not the type of man to fall in love anymore. After you've lived for as long as he has, you forget what the meaning of love is and it all just...fades away."

 

Hospital~~

It wasn't easy to find a way to get Mimi out of the hospital. Johanna had to be very careful to make sure she didn't run into any of the other nurses or doctors. The two of them were changed into fine clothing for the party, which was now to be used as camouflage to seem like a mother and a doctor leaving the hospital. Once they were safely away, Johanna allowed Mimi to fall asleep in her arms while she ran them down to the old church.

Balmore Manor~~

"I see," Rin sighed. The only thing that came through her mind was that it would be a challenge for her to get Seth to fall in love. She once thought that no one cared about her and she would die in that orphanage, but here she is now, being taken care of by merciful vampires. If that could happen, then Rin believed anything can happen to her. For her, anything could happen. "Well, then, I have a request. Will you aid me in my endeavors to have him fall in love?"

 

Balmore Manor~

Yuka tilted her head to the side, "And how will you manage this? I've known onii-chan for a long time. I don't think he's going to fall for a human again." She bit her lip, slid her cold fingers down Rin's arm and lifted her hand to her mouth. Pricking Rin's finger with her fang and squeezed a small bead of blood out. "Once...Seth fell in love with a human girl. He kept her in his manor back home...before the Purge, in Salem. I attended a few of his regular parties with my Sire and I met her. But...I'm not sure what happened...but the next thing I remember was that she killed my Sire...he was a Pureblood and back then and still is now, illegal to kill a Pureblood. The punishment was death and Seth wouldn't have it. He murdered plenty of Vampires during that time...and let the girl escape. That was his biggest mistake. She told every human that would listen to her and showed them his home... That started the Purge.... It was her fault."

Seth listened quietly in the crack of the door. Nudging it open, he turned his somber gaze on Rin. "It may have been her fault...but she had good reason to want all vampires dead. Yuka's Sire...a Mr. Fitz...said some awuful things to her that put me and the rest of my kin in a bad light. She was afraid...afraid of... me." He sat on the edge of his bed, "Yuka will you attend to the rest of my guests? They'll be arriving shortly." Seth unbuttoned his shirt and relaxed backwards. After a moment of staring at the ceiling, he spoke, "Rin...you look lovely in that dress."

Outside Balmore Manor~

Mirabelle stood silently, waiting for the guests. She'd placed a delicate black rose in her red hair and tried her best to button up her maids uniform but her chest wouldn't allow that. "Vampires...strong but fragile. How many more parties, onii-chan...before we find her again?" she mumbled to herself. Spotting Ceril and Johanna, Mirabelle pushed away from the walls and waved to them.

 

Balmore Manor~~

Rin listened in closely to the story. She was horrified when she heard about the human girls wanting Seth dead. Seth was the one who saved her; she couldn't understand why people would be so terrified of him. She heard Seth's comment and blushed at first. After a second, her face became very hard.

"It wasn't my idea," Rin lightly growled under her breath. "I suppose, though, that since your maid went to so much trouble with this, that I should keep this on for the night. It's a way to show her my thanks."

Rin moved from her seat and sat laid right next to Seth. She could feel his cold cheeks against her warm face.

Road to the Church~~

Anthony was bored on his way to the party. Even with his nice, new car (that he bought just for the occasion) he seemed bored by everything. Not to mention, the blood of his secretary that was very intoxicating. He never had to sit so close to her before. He wanted her blood right there and then, but he knew that he was suppose to saver her for later. Getting close to the church, Anthony parked the car within the trees and escorted his secretary to the party.

 

Balmore Manor~

Seth sniffed and sat up. "Did you hurt yourself, Rin?" He leaned over her and sniffed until he found her hand and lifted it. The blood smeared across her finger and the bed now. "I left you for a minute...what happened?" He frowned and stuck her finger in his mouth.

Outside Balmore Manor~

Mirabelle greeted Anthony and his secretary with bright eyes and a smile. "Good night Mr. Anthony...miss." She casually brushed off greeting the human and removed a red rose from behind her and pinned it to Anthony's jacket. "Today's party is special! Just the two of you? Good." she pinned a white rose onto the human's clothes and set them into the house with a fanged smile.

Inside the Church, through the front doors it appeared dank and dusty as an abandoned Church should be. A cover. Beyond the pedestal at the back was another door that lead to the Balmore Manor. Usually it was locked during the day from the inside. On nights of the party Yuka unlocked it with a skeletal key. Beyond those doors, a red carpet rolled out towards a high backed chair that looked like it belonged to the Pope. On either side were long, rectangular tables covered with glasses of the lighter red liquid from the tablet Cooke set out. The tablet created fake blood in water. It tasted like it and held the same nutrition. Minus the warmth and actual "good" taste.
Since there were no windows inside the Balmore Manor portion of the Church, the walls were covered with unending gold patterned wallpaper and red velvet drapes. High chandilers hung from the ceiling, lit with old fashioned fire on a candle stick. In a dark corner, a small Vampire string orchestra set up and played soft music for the guests' delicate hearing.

Seth's Room~

Seth hummed and removed Rin's finger from his mouth, licking at it. "Do not mind Yuka's finicky ways. She likes to dress up and pretend she's human again with blood to change the color of her cheeks. Now you will tell me how you managed to hurt yourself. I don't like knowing you can hurt yourself in my room. I must beware of it, lest you try to impale me with it." he chuckled.

 

Outside Balmore Manor~~
"Why thank you," Anthony said, with a chuckled. He wrapped his arm around the secretary's waist. It just helped him create the illusion that they were on some kind of a date.

In the distance came Johanna with little Mimi in his arms. Johanna could feel the little girl's arms holding onto her neck tightly. It wouldn't cause her to choke, but she was amazed by how much the little girl needed her. "Don't you worry little one. You'll be cured soon; I promise."

Seth's Room~~

"It was nothing," Rin urged him. "You're maid, she's very nice. She only just pricked my finger a little bit, that's all. It didn't hurt and she only took a small drop. Please, don't punish her, it was just a small mistake. It won't happen again. We both know that my soul belongs only to you; my savior." Rin placed her lips upon his. She wanted to prove to him the feelings that were welling up in her heart. "You're the only one who does this to me."

 

Seth's Room~

Seth took hold of Rin's shoulders and pulled her away. "Rin...I may be a patient man, but I am not a so very easily swayed Vampire. I am no one's savior. Yuka acted on a memory of mine...I do not want you to behave this way again." He stood, peeling off his shirt and donned a silk shirt. Sliding on his coat over it, he refastened his tie and hovered over Rin. "You...are not a Vampire's bride and I won't make you one. The fact that I feed off of you is....mearly out of boredom. Now I'll have that blood before I go." Kneeling onto the bed, Seth drew a line down her neck with the thin razor tucked in his pocket and watched her as his eyes turned crimson. "Are you frightened of me yet?"

Outside~

Mirabelle eyed Johanna and Mimi, pinning the roses onto them and tilted her red head to the side, "Johanna...are you sure? She's but a child? And a sickly one at that. Master Seth will not be happy to see you've brought her." Mirabelle chose to stay out of Seth's affairs. As a reward, Seth was working on a way to be able to develop the glass that blocked all UV rays from the sun and surround her garden with them so she would be able to work during the daytime.

 

Outside~~

Johanna allowed Mimi onto her feet. She seemed to be barely awake, clinging tightly to Johanna's hand. "I'm sure," Johanna answered. "She deserves to have a second chance at life, even if it means giving up my own."

Mimi peered through her hallow eyes at the party. It was the most extravagant thing she had seen in her life. Sickly, she smiled at everything and turned to the door woman. "Whose birthday is it," Mimi asked, only understanding one kind of party.

Seth's room~~

Rin didn't complain when she felt the blade cut across her neck. She remembered how painful it was the first time, but the burning sensation appeared to have dulled. She saw Seth's eyes changed but she did not change her stiff face. She leaned her neck out, making things easier for Seth. "Why should I be afraid? You're the one who rescued me from that terrible place. I trust you; you can act on your instincts. I don't bite."

Rin's dress straps fell to the side. She took a free finger and dipped it into her wound. It stung, but only for a moment. She then took the bloody finger and traced it around Seth's lips. Rin then took the same finger and traced it around her own.

 

Ceril gave mirabelle a polite wave as she entered the church. Often times she liked to sit in the pews of the church and pray. It made her feel more human. This life was forced upon her and it saddened her. he couldn't just let me die in that street. He condemned me to this cruel and never ending life without so much as a name. she entered the church and and smiled at maribelle, greeting her with a kiss on the cheeck. "good evening lady mirabelle. You look lovely as ever." unlike many of the others, she didn't mind maribelle's body. She was blessed with the gift of a wonderful body. There was no need to be ashamed. If anything, ceril felt maribelle should be proud of it. She eyed the little girl johanna had brought with her. It enraged ceril to see johanna wanting to condem such a young child to a life of unending misery. She did well to hide her anger, but she wasn't afraid to let johanna get an earful when the time permitted.

 

Seth's Room~

Seth ignored her actions, gripping her jaw and tilting it rather roughly to the side and began to feed from the wound on her neck. Warmth and energy flowed into him along with her blood. It was a long moment of silence before he forced himself to sit up. Her blood trailed down his chin and his eyes remained closed. As Vampires didn't need to breathe, he sat perfectly still and eventually relaxed so he was sitting on her hips.

Outside~

Allowing Ceril to greet her, Mirabelle pinned the red rose on her dress, "I should hope I look good. I don't think Seth would like his maids to be...half effort. Plus...he said today would be special." Mirabelle kneeled down to the girl and smiled a tight lipped smile, "No one's birthday little one. But...if my Master allows it...it might become yours." She removed the pinned, white rose from the little girl's top and smoothed it into Mimi's hair.

 

Outside~~

Mimi let out a small giggle. Johanna smiled; it was the most emotion that she had received from the little girl in the past week. Her life had been filled with needles and pain for so much long, she was happy to see the little girl enjoying herself for once. "Even without his permission, she'll be able to see tomorrow," Johanna muttered to the woman under her breath.

Seth's Room~~

Rin was a bit peeved that Seth didn't notice her. When she was feeding him, she couldn't help but smile. This was the second time he took blood from her neck. There was no more pain from this. When he stopped, she held onto his hand tightly. "You need me," she told him, a strange smile on her face. "Even if you think if it's just to feed, you need me. And I need you. You claim that you cannot love, but I'm a being that can. I cannot let go of these feelings, no matter how much you oppose."

 

Seth's Room~

Seth opened his eyes and resumed normal breathing patterns. Licking the blood from his lips he watched Rin carefully. "You may say you love me....but I will never love another human again. I need no one, even if you do need me. Food...is obtained everywhere. Be it another Vampire or a human. Do not believe for a second that you are the only one able to sate my appetite, Rin. I took you from that place simply because I do not wish to leave Luin. Luin is isolated...Luin is quiet and comfortable. I have many friends here, and I will not pack up and leave simply because a little girl chose to out me." He snarled now and jumped up, wiping blood from his face. "I don't have time for this...I have guests to entertain. Stay in here."

Outside~

Mirabelle solomly nodded and opened the door for her and the young human. "Ask him after the sacrifice...and after the punishment. That way he'll be in a better mood."

 

Seth's Room~~

"I love you," Rin yelled at him. Rin wasn't quite sure if what she was feeling could be considered love. She only said it to spite Seth. Even if she threatened to out the vampires, Rin knew that she could never do that. She owed Seth that much at least. For a second, she thought about waiting for him without the dress on. That idea faded away when she thought back to how hard the maid worked to make her look like this. She pulled the dress up, fell onto the bed and simply waited.

Church~~
"Yes, madam," Johanna told her. That was her plan anyway, to strike at the most right moment. "Thank you for greeting us in."

Sickly, Mimi broke away from Johanna's grasp. She slowly walked over to Mirabelle and hugged her legs.

 

Balmore Manor~

Seth slammed the door shut and calmed himself. Humans always riled him up. Moving in a relaxed and casual manner, Seth descended the stairs and entered the room with his guests. Smiling, he watched them all bow and speak the same thing at the same time. "Sensei." Feeling more at home, Seth took his time meadering through the crowd and greeting important people. He mumbled something to Yuka, who appeared at his side and disappeared in an instant. Reaching Anthony and the secretary, Seth took her hand and kissed the back of it formally. "I'm glad you could make it." She blushed and he licked the inside of her wrist. "Though you were good at your job...you will enjoy tonight more than anything." he promised and sauntered away. Standing on the elevated portion, where the high backed chair sat, Seth lifted his hands to the ceiling, "My friends! I'm very pleased to see you all tonight. Please...feel free to dine on what I've provided and now...we'll begin the best part of the night!" Capturing everyone's attention, he smiled and waved for Anthony to bring up the secretary. "I give to you, a woman who has lusted for our kind and wished to be one of us. Alas...this is something I will not grant to her. She has been chosen to provide us with the most wonderful gift....the gift of her fresh blood."

The woman struggled, fear in her eyes as all the Vampire eyes turned to her filled with hunger.

 

Manor~~

Anthony was ready to feed. Being close to the event, Anthony's mouth began to water. He could barely contain his excitement. For the longest time, he has wanted her blood. Now, he was only a few seconds away.

Johanna didn't wish for Mimi to see what was happening. She was in the very far back of the room. She ran all the way back to Mirabelle and placed Mimi's hand around her. "Do you mind watching her for just a second?" Giving into her instincts, Johanna had already made her way to the crowd to feed.

 

Balmore Manor~

Once she was brought to him, Seth sat with her on his lap and crooned to her, stroaking her throat. "Such a lovely woman." She panicked and Seth chuckled. He drew out the razor from his pocket and quickly sliced her wrists, thighs and both sides of her throat. Barely containing his joy, he licked the flowing line of blood from her neck and bit into her savagely. After only a few mouthfuls, Seth tossed her to the crowd of hungry Vampires. Her change wouldn't set in if she was drained by the rest and burned afterwards. Sitting comfortably in his seat, he watched his fellow Vampires feed with rising happiness at their pleasure. The woman moaned senselessly and he expected the hormones produced would make it all feel like the best thing she'd ever had.

Mirabelle covered Mimi's ears and gently picked her up and walked her to the stain glass window that wasn't broken.

Ceril walked past them into the hallways. She delicately picked up a glass as she walked into the larger room filled with other vampires. She always managed to stay well composed throughout the party, but once it was time to leave she wanted to scream. All of this was just one large charade. Quite a charade it was. Ceril stood at the back of the room in horror. She sipped away at her drink as she watched everyone feed on the woman. It was hard for to control her instincts, but having fed eariler made it eadier. She always hated watching how much of a monster they all truly were.

Serena pulled up to the house in the prius, watching as annie came rushing out. "what on earth took so long? I was about to hoof it." serena climbed out of the car with the groceries in hand and vickie following after. "sorry, we ran into a situation at the market. I handled it though. Don't worry." annie shook her head angrily as she helped unload the groceries.

 

Seth's Room~~

Rin could hear the commotion coming from the other side of the door. Although she was curious about what was going on at the party, she knew that it would be wrong to disobey Seth's orders. Rin heard the scream of a woman, which caused her to reach for a pillow to cover her ears. She closed her eyes and thought back to Seth. She knew that she could get him to love her, she just needed to know how.

Manor~~

Anthony had launched himself at the woman. He took a place at the right side of her neck. Blood was dripping down his neck, a sinister smile spreading across his face.

Currently, Johanna was completely acting on her instincts. She was barely able to get small bits of blood that were dripping down her leg. The cries of the woman had completely drowned out as she was feeding. There was nothing now. All she needed to do was feed in order to stay alive.
