Valentine shoved aside his fears for the moment, "What did you have in mind?"

Nick waited patiently with Vickie until he smelt rather than saw his pack. He lifted his arm and waved over the heads of several other people. Streaming through the throng of people came a black haired man wearing a military style uniform with a little blonde haired girl attatched to his leg. "STOP! Stop I say! HEEL!" Frowning down at the little girl the black haired man spoke in a deep voice that rumbled from deep in his chest, "I already stopped and I'm not a dog, Sam. I'm a wolf. You do well to remember that." The little girl, Sam, looked up at him with large blue eyes and immediately bit his leg, "You don't scare me, Rosh. And even wolves obey the command heel when they hear it. Right Nick?" Nick smiled down at Sam with affection in his blue eyes and knelt to her level. "Nice to see you Sammy. But I'm not getting in between you and Rosh if you're fighting." Rosh lifted his head and shook off the little girl clinging to his leg. "Who's fighting? I don't fight with my sister, I mearly...enjoy her company a little less than others."

ceril's fangs stuck out under her smile and she kissed his neck. the fangs grazing over his skin and she bit down. she was still rather faint from coughing up blood. most of the color had returned to her skin, but she was still paler than usual.

vickie was nervous being around all the people. she had never been in an airport before and it was making her agoraphobic. she stood behind nick, hiding from all the others. sammy, the girl nick had told her about, was the first one to greet him. she peaked out at her from behind nick's legs and then ducked her head out of sight again.

 

Mayor's House

Rin awoke in a daze. She wasn't quite sure how long she was asleep, let alone how long she was stuck in her current prison. Her head ached, badly, and she felt as if she was about to vomit. The food that Lucy had given her wasn't that bad when she ate it, but hunger is always the best spice.

"Where is he," Rin said to herself trying to make sense of everything.

Valentine closed his eyes and held her to him, "Take what you need."

Sammy let go of Rosh's leg and bounded over to Nick, poking her head around his legs to see Vickie. "I thought I smelt someone else. Is she your girlfriend, Nicky?" Nick swatted at her head and she ducked lower to the ground, "If I said she was, would you be jealous, Sammy?" Sam's entire face turned beet red and she stuck out her lower lip, "But you told me you couldn't date someone who was younger than you!" Nick laughed until a sweeter voice caused him to stiffen and somber. "Is there something horribly funny, Nicholas? That young girl has no scent of a wolf of her own. The scents hanging off her are yours and two other females. Hopefully she isn't your daughter and you've been a bad boy when you left us." Nick swallowed hard and met emerald green eyes set in a pale face framed by pure white hair. Not the white of age, but the unnatural color that belonged only to snow. "Issa...I didn't think you'd come too. Given our history, I didn't think you'd want to live in a new town where I'm going to be staying." Sam crawled closer to Vickie to whisper to her, "That's Issa, she used to be Nick's girlfriend. She's a mean woman who cheated on Nick and broke his heart. He didn't know she'd cheated with someone else when they were together so they have somewhat of a bond...but I call Lycan Hunter and say she's no more bonded to him than Rosh is. She's a greedy one...and by the Moon I'll out her one day."

ceril wound her fingers tightly into valentine's hair as she fed from him. the sound of blood being sucked down her throat pounded in her ears. the sticky warm liquid felt refreshing as it went down her throat, quenching the burn. she could already feel herself getting better. something would need to be done. for valentine's sake, she would need to find the pureblood that changed her. he wouldn't last once she died.

vickie listened to sammy and peaked out again at the woman. she seemed creepy and could already tell that there was something evil about her. her eyes moved back to sammy who was standing beside her and she tried to smile. vickie whispered back to her from behind nick."well, nick's going to be with annie, so she better stay out of the way. annie always get's what she wants. she's a fighter."

Relaxing under the comforting sounds of his blood being consumed, Valentine shut his eyes. The future was always grey and bleak for him. And it would be the same for his brother, time and again.

Sammy blinked her large blue eyes at Vickie, "Who's Annie?" Rosh set a hand on Issa's shoulder and roughly yanked her backwards. "That's enough out of you. Nick, I expect you have proper housing for us?" Nick nodded, "How many more?" Rosh motioned and two other young children rushed forwards, dragging with them dads and moms and two other men who took up positions beside Rosh like bodyguards. "Rose and Miguel and their son Richard. Jane and Jerry and their daughter Utau. And since I'll become this town's Alpha, my Beta Ikuto Tsukiyomi and my Gama Jack."

ceril forced herself off of valentine and wiped her mouth clean."i'm sorry. ...i took too much..." she sat on the edge of the bed, ashamed of herself. she was missing the necessary blood and was trying to use valentine's as a supplement. it would only last so long.

vickie looked at sammy surprised. of course she wouldn't know who annie was. that was a silly thought. "annie's my older sister. they really like each other." she listened to the adults talk about how many people were coming and her eyes lit up in ecstasy. there were so many. she couldn't stop thinking about how many friends she could possible make now. there was no way annie could keep her from interacting with others now.

Keel stood by as he waited for Nina and Damien to finish their converstion.

Valentine remained still, "No...if this is as much as I can do for you...I'd rather you take as much as you want."

Sammy blinked and smiled, "Okay! Hey, Ikuto! Let's go!" The young girl hopped out from behind Nick and grabbed the hand of a man with tricolored blue eyes and blue-black hair. He gave her a surprised look and was dragged away towards the car. Nick motioned the others forwards and they passed by him without a word. Utau's blue eyes stayed on Vickie and she stopped when she passed by. Her blonde hair flitted around her face until her mother snapped her fingers and the girl came running to her side.

Nina's expression grew pained and Damien turned to leave. "Thanks for the information, little one, but we can handle a few Vampires."

Ceril shook her head and curled up alongside valentine. She felt much better for now and rested her head in his shoulder. "no. It's not fair to you. I shoildn't be allowed to suck you dry."

Vickie grabbed nick's hand with both of hers as everyone stsrted walking. She noticed utau staring and then run right passed her. It made vickie feel selfconscious. Other than sammy, it looked like nobody liked her. "we should go too, right?" she continued to watch ahead as everyone climbed into cars.

"So those are the Lycan Hunters, I can see why you had you doubt about them." Keel said.

Valentine shook his head lightly, "Be that as it may. I will not sacrifice your life for the sake of mine."

Nick nodded, his shoulders drooped and worry lines were starting to form on his face. Standing beside his car, Sammy waved her little arms, still holding Ikuto's sleeve in a death grip. "We're going to ride with you two. Rosh is being mean and Ikuto is supposed to watch me."

Nina nodded, "I hate them...well...now you know. I'm neither half nor was bitten. I'm as full Vampire as they come."

Ceril didn't respond. He is a pureblood. His life is far more important than hers and she had always been prepared to die. She already did it once after all. Valentine never had to experience death. Ceril gave him a kiss on the cheek and smiled at him with her red eyes. Her bangs had fallen in her face at an odd angle and she brushed them out of the way. "So," she trailed her fingers down his chest, "when are we going on this bright and sunny honeymoon?" she smirked and gave him another kiss.

Vickie stared at the door of the front seat for a minute before climbing into the back of the prius. Apparently riding up front was short-lived. She slid all the way over and made room for sammy. "here! You can sit by me sammy." she patted the seat and buckled up.

"I see, so why work with the Dhamphir?"Keel asked.

Valentine shifted slightly on her bed, "When...? Whenever you so feel the need."

car

Nick sighed and Ikuto made up Sammy's mind for her and slid into the front seat. His blue-black hair shone mostly blue as he sunk into the seat. Sammy scrambled around until she was comfortable and poked the back of Ikuto's head. "Ikuto...last I saw you, you were working down at that club before. Did you quit just to move here?" "Is it so much of a shock that I would? But, fear not brother...I was fired long before. The manager did not take well to finding out his daughter held a fancy for someone....like me." Sam smoothed out her pale dress and leaned over to Vickie, "Ikuto is a blue-blood. He's a born royal in the werewolf lineage. That manager guy didn't want his daughter to have puppies, since she was only a human. Romanian's....don't like mixed blood if they can prevent it."

Ceril nodded and nuzzled her head into his shoulder. She closed her eyes happily. Things were nice right now, but how long would it last?

Vickie listened to sammy intently. She was learning so much that two days ago she never knew existed. It made her a little uncomfortable. She glanced out the car window and then back at sammy. "it's a lot to hear. My sisters didn't tell me about any of this til two days ago. it's hard to believe that werewolves and vampires are real." she folded her hands together and sat there quietly.

Ikuto turned in his seat to glance back at Vickie, his tricolored blue eyes expressionless. "Then it's time to teach you about the world you live in. Nothing is sugarplums and rainbows anymore. You have to let go of childhood fantasies in order to grow up." Sam lowered her gaze to her lap and Nick reached over and ruffled Ikuto's hair. "Loosen up Tsukiyomi, not everything is about duty. Today...we're here to have some fun."

Vickie sat in the backseat of the car silently. Her eyes wandered out the window and looked rather sad. She didn't really know how to deal with all of this new knowledge. First she was mad that her sisters kept something so monumentally important from her, then she had been excited, and now...now vickie didn't know what to feel. Everything was so conflicting. Her sisters told her because they thought she was both in danger and going to change soon, but nick said that her sisters actually believe she's human. none of it made sense. "is it possible? to be human if your entire family is made up of werewolves? i don't understand that." although the question was directed towards everyone, the little girl was mostly asking it to herself. she didn't take her eyes off the window and the changing scene outside. they were getting close to town, but something in her chest made her wish they weren't.

 

car

Nick smacked Ikuto's head and they started bickering like an old couple. Sammy reached over and patted Vickie's head, "It's too much...isn't it? Face it later. You know...you can face each of what's bothering you in smaller steps...though I'm one to talk.... Vickie...it would be better if you weren't a werewolf... Being one...changes you." She glanced up at Ikuto snarling at a grinning Nick as they fought over how much Nick should be looking at the road. "When a werewolf mother only has one pup....she's considered broken and the child is as well. My momma...only had me...and she left the pack after that... I'm growing up with Ikuto as a father figure...and I don't have many friends my own age. Nick is proof of that... So Vickie...even if you are human...we're going to be best friends."

Vickie looked up at sammy, eyes sparkling and glistening with tears. There was a big smile on her face and she grabbed sammy's arm. "r-really? I've never really had friends before. Annie always said it was too dangerous to go to school. You're gonna like annie, and serena too! Serena's a really good cook and annie is super outdoorsy. I don't really like going outside, but I like to build stuff! You like to draw right? That's what nick told me when I was working on my lego city. My sisters won't get me more legos though, serena says I already have to many. But if I take apart the other stuff I built then they won't look cool anymore." she had finally opened up and could barely stop talking. Vickie had always been a talker if you said the right thing.
