Road to Church - Forest

Valentine relaxed visibly and shook his head after her. 'You've no idea how much I wish I could simply tell you to ignore my pleas. I've something to ask you. The one who changed you. Where did he leave his mark?"

Cabin

Nick grinned, "I've gotten the assurance that her wolf is interested in me and she agreed to a date. I'm much closer than she believes. I'm not about to give up my edge just because she's stubborn." He followed Annie inside, giving Serena a white full smile and held the door for her. "Your sister might think she's pushing me away...but I can see how much it pains her to keep me away. The only thing that could make me give up...was if she truly found someone else she loved more."

"hm? oh...um..." ceril pulled up her sleeve and held out her forearm to him. there was the faint outline of a bite mark shaped scar close to her wrist. "it's right here. he rushed out of his car, bit me, and then drove off. i was lying in the street bleeding out and changing at the same time. it was all so confusing and painful." her facial expression grew grim. ceril dropped her gaze to the scar and stared at it. "i know what they say...that if you don't feed from your sire, you won't make it through the first century. everything has been fine so far...but recently...i've started getting sick." she pulled the sleeve down, using more effort than necessary. "it's partly why i wanted to look for him."

cabin
serena followed nick in, returning his smile with one of her own. "a date huh? and i thought her wolf was the one being sweet. she must really like you. annie doesn't go on dates with anyone." she glanced over to the kitchen, then back to nick. "i'll go put on some clothes and then start breakfast. do you need another set?" she raised an eyebrow at him and faintly heard the sound of the shower start. apparently annie was getting cleaned up.

 

Forest

Valentine frowned, "I do not remember a pureblood that leaves his mark on the arm.... I'm at a loss of where to find this one. I cannot help...." his expression was puzzled and pained by this fact.


Cabin

Nick shook his head, "No no...her wolf was more than sweet. She was inviting. But Seth Balmore gave me some clothes. He said he doesn't do casual clothing...so he gave me his. They only smell like dust and mothballs. Luckily for me they don't smell like Vampire."

ceril kept her gaze on the ground as they walked. she had never talked about this sort of thing with anyone before. everyone knew how much she loathed being a vampire, but they had no clue how truly terrified she was. how scary the fact that she needed the blood of the person that changed her in order to survive was. "i've come to believe that the reason he bit my arm was because he panicked and it was the most accessible spot. i was lying in the street with plenty of people to see." she sighed.

serena laughed a little and started off in the direction of her bedroom. "feel free to change in annie's room while she's in the shower. knowing her, she'll probably be awhile." she laughed some more and then disappeared down the hall.

 

Forest

Valentine shook his head, "The only Pureblood that I know of to panic would be Karol...and I have not seen him in some time. To me...he is forever a boy and nothing more."

Cabin

Nick grabbed a fitted tee and a pair of dark jeans and slipped into Annie's room. Her scent washed over him and he stopped for a long time to inhale. Nick set upon his jeans first. A displeasing thought drifted to him, until he gained any money he would be forced to go commando. Nick had told Seth he'd rather roll around in pins and needles and even a butchers knife or two than take any of his boxers.

ceril glanced up at valentine and attempted to smile. "well...unless he was in d.c. thirty years ago, it probably wasn't him." she took his hand in hers as they walked. "i'm glad you're here."

cabin
annie stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around her torso. she walked down the hall and pushed open her door. when she saw nick in her room she covered her eyes and held tightly onto the robe. "oh! i didn't realize you were in here." her face turned a slight shade of pink and she turned her back to him. her long black hair was pulled back into a messy wet bun to hang out of the way and dry.

 

Forest

Valentine nodded, "I'm not much help...as I do not know where Karol was thirty years ago. I've....never been to D.C. before...I suppose it is not a place of fond memories for you now." He tugged her at a slightly faster pace towards her home.

Cabin

Nick slipped on his jeans and chuckled at Annie's behavior. "I would not think you would be embarrassed to see me like this again. Though I suppose it is my fault...I am in here, uninvited when your sister has given me her room." He held up his shirt, looking idly for the tag in the back. "But have I become so riddled with horrors that I'm no longer considered....attractive? I'm hurt, Annie."

ceril stopped in front of the large tree baring her treehouse. "not at all. i still love d.c. the city is incredible. we should go some time. the only reason i left was because there were too many close calls. family and friends catching glimpses of me walking down the streets at night and panicking, thinking they're seeing ghosts. it was too much." she dropped his hand and started climbing quickly up her tree.

annie shied away towards her walk-in closet. she made sure to avoid catching sight of nick. "n-no...i never said that. i just wasn't expecting you to be in here is all. her fingers pulled on the cord in the closet, turning on the light. "i realize you're just messing with me. you obviously know you're attractive. i don't see how you wouldn't."

 

While the offer of food was tempting, Keel was glad when Nina declined the offer and lead them away from the cabin. Well, that takes care of one thing. He thought to himself.

Valentine shimmied up the tree after her, "You truly are unique. Maintaining your human feelings for those you left behind. I've had....human associates before...they did not take well to my being of the undead."

Cabin

Nick frowned, "Well I would have no clue if others in my pack and humans...and even some very scary others...wouldn't keep reminding me. I don't know if you'd call it a good or a bad sign when you're hit on by a werebear. I was scared for my life...a relationship with that one...wouldn't have ended well. I don't care if she was a black bear...the thought that she was bigger than me....made me flee with my tail between my legs." Nick followed Annie, examining her walk in closet. "But I'm sure you've had your fair share of odd beings hitting on you. After all you have such a beautiful sister...and I don't mean Serena." Nick tilted his head to the side and sniffed, "You really don't remember last night?"

Luin

Nina growled and clutched her head, "Now what? Finding the stupid hunters is harder than finding our targets."

ceril sat down on the rocking chair and looked around at the slight damage done to the treehouse. She hadn't realized just how much valentine had done. Fortunately, there wasn't any light leaking in. "it's a good thing i'm not human." she felt the desire to be alone at that moment. Going from spending the last thirties years by herself, to having to spend the rest of her existance was going to be a dramatic change. "thank you."

Annie turned around to face nick, still clutching the towel tightly. Her face was red and her heart was pounding in her chest. She stared at nick's chest, avoiding eye contact. "i remember you helping fight off the hunters. Thanks for that. If I would have lost serena...i don't know what I would be like today. We've already lost so much." she also remembered how childish her wolf was. The black wolf had been practically all over him and it was embarrassing. She loses control for one night and it's like she becomes something completely different. She was a fighter, not some frivolous boy crazed tart. Plus she had no clue what he was talking about. Annie barely ever caught attention from other people, it was her twin that did. Serena always said it because of her bad attitude or something.

Valentine flinched, nearly falling back down the tree, "I've done nothing to earn your thanks...why are you thanking me?"

cabin: Annie's room

Nick grinned, "Ah, so you do remember. And I was talking about Vickie. I can see it in her to grow up to be just like you are. A pretty little vixen that will bite your finger off if you try to pet it." He took a step back and bent his body into a formal bow. "You're very welcome. I fear you and your little sister would starve without Serena."

"'Cause it's lonely being by myself and with you here, it's not so lonely anymore. regardless of what you believe, you're pleasant company. when you're not freaking out that is. then again, even that's better than being alone all the time." she moved quickly across the treehouse and grabbed valentine, keeping him from falling down the hole in the floor.

cabin: annie's room
annie chuckled a little and glanced up at nick quickly. "you're probably right. i'm a horrible cook. i don't know what i'm going to do in the future. can't rely on serena to make my meals forever. speaking of which..." she could faintly smell breakfast cooking and could hear the sound of food sizzling in a pan. annie let go of the towel, that was still wrapped tightly around her body, and grabbed nick's hands. "there's no need to bow. i'm just grateful. just say you're welcome and get it over with." she smiled at him and lead nick out of her closet.

 

Luin

"Beats me, it's not like we have a way of contacting them." Keel said shrugging his shoulders.

 

Treehouse

The sun rose and Valentine found himself again in Ceril's presence alone. There would be no Maribelle to stop him and he doubted his luck ran as thick as another near miss by the Lycan Hunters. "Ceril...I... If there is any chance in which you would refrain from inviting me into your bed, I suggest you do it now."

Cabin

Nick laughed, "I had hoped to be more gentlemanly. Chivalry isn't lost among our kind, I just thought I'd bring it back...apparently that's a bit too overrated for you werewolves these days." He jerked her close to him, since she was still holding his hands and whispered against her neck, "You're welcome." It was a shame she'd had to shower, his scent was lost among the scents of her shampoo. His late night endevours were in vain and now that she was wary of him, trying again wasn't really an option.

Luin

Nina nearly slapped herself, "That's it! We'll call the stupid boys to us!" She cupped her hands around her mouth and mimiced the sound of a wolf howling.

 

Treehouse
Ceril plopped down on the bed disappointed and fuming. She crossed her arms and glanced up at him. "fine." her eyes roamed over the few things she had in the small room. "so what would you like to do then? We could play cards or something. But i've got to say... You can't keep this up forever. We're going to be together for a very long time and things are going to get boring rather quick." she reached under the bed for the deck of cards. She didn't play them often since the number of single player card games was limited.

Annie felt the warmth of his breath on her neck and shivered. She let go of his hands and pulled away from him. "i...i need to get dressed." her face started to turn dark red and her whole body felt like it was on fire. She turned back to the closet, heart pounding, and looked away from nick. "i'm sure serena's probably done with breakfast. Or close to it.."

 

Treehouse

Valentine suppressed a smile. His smile was an awkward thing on his face, as if it hadn't been there in ages. He leaned forwards, taking the cards from her, "I have a limited range of control, but I can do some things."

Cabin

Nick turned towards the door, a smile still plastered on his face, "I'll leave you to it then." He shut the door behind him quietly. His wolf whimpered and he shushed it. Taking Annie by force now would ruin all he'd done to win her over. Just because he'd had a flash of skin didn't mean he should act like a simpering pup and sit at her feet and beg for a taste of the riches she held so carefully clothed under attitude and cloth. He followed his nose to breakfast quietly.

Ceril was still frowning as valentine took the cards from her. He had a cute smile, but she didn't plan on changing her attitude any time soon. "if you sit down on the bed to play cards, I promise I wont make any moves on you." she patted the surface of the b we d across from her, for him to sit.

cabin
Annie exited her room a few minutes later. Everyone appeared to be at the breakfast table already and eating. "'bout time you decide to show up. I was starting to think you weren't going to eat." annie didn't respond to serena's remark. She sat down between her sisters and started gathering up some food on a plate. "i have to leave right after breakfast. Starting work today."

 

Eventhough both Keel and Allen were slightly confused as to what was going on, they both joined Nina in imitating wolf calls.

 

Treehouse

Valentine crossed his arms behind his back, "And if I refuse?" He closed one eye and glanced at her and arrogant smile covering his face.

Cabin

Nick paused in eating, "Work? The pack comes in today....I'll have to go meet them at the airport but...will your work take you long that you won't get to meet them today?"

Luin

Nina let her howl ring and turned on her heel rapidly, "Nice of you to show up." A man shoved his way out from behind a few trees followed by several others, "Nice of you to call, but you're not even relatively wolves, Vampire." Nina set her hands on her hips, "Dhamphir!" The others behind him chuckled and he made a motion with his hand to have the three surrounded. "No...I know a Vampire when I see one. And I know the difference between a Dhamphir and the Pure Ones. You've been hiding all this time and in broad daylight....how bold of you. But with wearing that skin-tight suit and frilly dresses...no one is the wiser." Nina snarled at him. "That's enough Damien. I am not a Vampire...not anymore. But there are true Vampires here in this town."
