Bloody Nightmare

Annie looked up at nick curiously. "ready to go?" it looked like he was searching for something, but she didn't know what he would be looking for.

Ceril stood back up and sat down on the bed. "well that's a bonus for us then right? One less thing to worry about for us. I'm sure there are going to be enough problems tonight the way it is." she sat there hopefully, but she had a bad feeling. If there were hunters around and they killed a dhamphir without cause, they might be in a lot more trouble than before.

Nick nodded, still scanning the area before he frowned in discontentment. "Let's get the show on the road...better sooner than later... C'mon, Annie...lead the way."

Valentine frowned. He didn't think Lycan Hunters could kill vampires...half or not. Shaking the blood lust from his head, he tried to focus on their words. UV bullets...sunlight? They could kill Ceril... Glancing at her, he suppressed a growl at the thought.

Balmore manor - Seth's room

Seth took the book and tucked it into the nightstand drawer beside his bed and locked it. "Yes...let's leave. Lucy...you'll be coming too."

 

north woods
Annie thought for a moment about take the car, but figured nick would rather walk. She hiked through woods in the direction of the church. "you smelt something didn't you? Something bad." it wasn't a question. Nick had clearly picked up on something, but he wasn't sharing the details.

Ceril noticed the expression on valentine's face and stood. She stepped close to him lile before and could again I,agine her heart pounding. "you wouldn't happen to be concerned for me would you."
She found it cute that he showed how he felt about her.

 

North Woods

Nick shrugged, walking beside her. "Not necessarily... I smelt...the man with the scar on his face..." He'd forgotten he had only told Vickie about him...but he didn't know his name...since the man thought he was just some filthy animal.

Valentine's brow furrowed and he backed away from her, "N-no...why would I be worried about you? You've told me before that you can handle yourself. Unless...you think there's a reason I should be concerned."

 

north woods
Annie turned her head towards nick, confused. "what? You mean the guy that show you?" she took a deep sniff. She caught feint whafts of other people in the forest, but it was a distance away.

"no. Not really." ceril shrugged and sat back down on the edge of the bed. It was like he said, she already told him that she could handle herself. That she didn't need help from anyone.

 

North Woods

"Yeah...that guy." He didn't feel like elaborating. Saying too much would involve her...and saying too little would make her curious. "Annie..." he grabbed her arm and jerked her to face him, "You see him...you run. You run like never before...like your sisters are about to be killed if you don't get back to the house and lock the doors and hide." His blue eyes were hard as he spoke.

Valentine bent over her, his face impassive. "You're going to help me...to save me. I don't want anything bad to happen to you."

 

Balmore Manor Seth's Room~~

Rin wanted to protest Lucy coming along, but she didn't wish to do anything that would stir up Seth any more than he already is. Instead, she kept quiet as she slowly walked out of the room next to Seth. Her stomach growled from the lack of nourishment she has had over the past several hours. She hid her face in her hair, wishing that she could just disappear at that moment.

Annie studied the look on nick's face and after a moment she nodded. "all right. I'll run like my sisters are in danger. Judging by your expression, i'm guessing that if I see him it means my sisters will become endangered." she pulled away from him and started walking again. They came out of the forest along a dirt road. In the distance the shape of a steeple could be seen atop a church. She pointed out towards it. "they live over there. In that church. There's a door in the sanctuary that leads to their home."

Ceril tapped his incredibly close nose with her pointer finger. "whatever you say. Now sit. It's going to be awhile. Would you like a book or something? I have lots to choose from." she waved her hand at the neatly stacked pyramid of books on her floor. "i was on my way to get more when I uh...decided to intervene." she lifted her arm over her head and scratched the back of her head awkwardly.

 

North woods - Road to Church

Nick paused, sniffing and rolled his shoulders, "Alright...thanks for the directions... You should head back home now. Protect your sisters until I leave town." Again, his wolf whined at him. It didn't want to leave Annie and yet...if he didn't she'd probably die.

Valentine sat beside her, staring blankly at the books on the floor. "That's alright. Somehow...I'm glad you came... Though you didn't stop me from biting that girl...I realize now how foolish it had been of me. I acted like a child and Father would reprimand me if he were here... I'd probably feel better if Seth were to do it too... If my own blood ran through my veins I'm sure needles would be pricking me. Being undead is supposed to have its advantages...all I've noticed is the downside. I have no heart that beats within my chest...my conscience leads my life and tears me apart bit by bit."

Balmore Manor

Lucy followed Rin out of Seth's room and grabbed her arm, shoving her against the wall, "Why do you willingly live with a Vampire!? What's wrong with you! I don't see any shackles on you. Has he done some sort of mind trick? We can escape, together!"

Annie reach out to nick like she was about to saying something, but then dropped her hand. "good luck. I hope you find whay you came here for." her voice was quiet and sad as she turned back to the forest. She started to walk in the direction of home, but then decided to sit down on a large boulder out of sight. She sat there huntched over, resting her chin on her fist and a tear came trickling down her cheek. Annie wiped away at the tear, surprised that she started crying. She hadn't cried in a very long time and didn't really understand why she was doing it now. There was a part of her that didn't want nick to go. She knew that she'd probably never see him again once he left, but it wasn't supposed to matter. The only thing she was supposed to care about was taking care of her family. i don't understand what's going on.

Ceril sat there silently. She didn't really know what to say. Her whole goal was to save the girl before she was turned or murdered, but she failed. She was a failure. Ceril undid her hair and sat there quietly rebraiding and unbraiding it over and over again. "i failed. I couldn't even save that human. I serve no purpose in the world other than to slaughter the local wildlife. I provide no contribution by sitting up here in solitude." she had always tried to deny the truth, but now she was finally admitting to it. "at least as a pureblood you can change people and govern over people. I mean master balmore practically built this entire city. He should be mayor or something, but he's not. I'm sure everyone would vote for him. As a pureblood, you have the opportunity to change lives. Whether or not iy's in a good or bad way is completely up to you." ceril's mind wandered to the small child named mimi. Although, she didn't condone the act of changing a child, she was given a new healthy life.

 

Church

Nick stood outside the church doors, suppressing the growl that threatened to tear through his throat. He needed to be calm in order to deal with a Pureblood. Much like the blue-bloods of his own kind. They never took kindly to rudeness.

Valentine jumped up, "Sitting around here, mopping about it isn't going to do any good. Seth may have changed soomething for the better...but how much is better? The entire town is run by Vampires. The humans that hold a position of power know about Seth and follow his orders exactly. This town lives in a limbo state. It needs to move forwards! Like the rest of the world. And we're going to help Seth realize that. He's kept everything the same since Lirum left."

 

Rin grunted and glared at the vampire that was holding her down. Part of her felt like laughing, but she figured that it wouldn't be the wisest idea. "I'm here because I want to be here. He did nothing to me but rescue me from a place I didn't want to be. Who are you to ask me about the decisions I make in my own life?"

 

Balmore Manor

Lucy trembled, but let the girl go. "You think I'm a vampire...don't you? You think I'm one of those things! I'm a person! I was born a person! Not with fangs and the urge to drink blood. I'm trying to help you escape, you stupid kid. Now, while they're busy!" She pulled Rin towards the doors.

 

Balmore Manor

Rin struggled to get out of her grip. She fought against her movements, but she could feel her arm burning from the frictions. "I'm not leaving. You can't make me leave this place. Even if you take me away, I'm going to come back."

 

Balmore manor

Lucy dropped Rin's arm, glaring at her, "Why?"

"Because she loves me, or so she keeps saying." Seth slowly descended the stairs, keeping his scarlet eyes fixed on Rin as he stopped at the bottom and knelt at Rin's feet. Taking her hand, Seth brushed his lips across the back of her hand, "Not that I object to her affection. It's rather nice." He flicked his eyes towards Lucy, watching her watch him. She was very familiar to him, but the only idea possible was impossible. Lirum wouldn't...would she? Would she truly abandon a child to fend for itself just because she was afraid?

 

north woods
Annie sat there on the rock angrily. She didn't know what to do. Part of her was saying go back and help nick, the other part was saying go home. Annie finally decided she wasn't going to do either of those things. She stood, heading in the direction of town. She was still serious about putting the cabin back up for sale. The town was infested with vampires and now they had to worry about hunters. It wasn't a safe place, but the animal inside her wanted to call it home. It was the best location they had found so far. She would have to speak with a realtor and potentially find a job until the cabin is sold. They didn't have a lot of money left after this move and probably couldn't afford another one.

Ceril's brows furrowed as she looked up at valentine angrily. "the town has remained the same because he doesn't want a repeat of what happened last time. What do you expect to do? He's not just going to hand the town over to you. You said it yourself, your brother dispises you. You'd be the last person he'd let make changes to the town." she stood and for once wished she lived somewhere bigger. Ceril wanted to walk away, but there was nowhere to go. It was a small space that was completely occupied.

 

Rin had felt cornered with Lucy's question. She didn't feel like telling her the truth about her feelings. She was thankful that Seth was the one who split the news to her. She felt his words to be genuine towards her, so she smiled very brightly. "I'm glad that you find my company pleasurable, Seth. I"m very grateful to have you in my life."

 

Balmore manor

Seth lifted his scarlet eyes to Rin's face, "It's been a full day since I've last fed. I dare not bite my dearest Rin...I rather enjoy her as a human. They're easier to judge emotions on. And..." he lifted her palm to his cheek and rubbed his face against it, "They're ever so warm. Much warmer than my kind."

Church

Nick hesitantly walked through the church, licking his lips he nearly gagged on the overwhelming scent of vampire. Reaching the door that had been taken to great lengths to hide, he pushed against it and watched it creak open, revealing the kneeling Seth, Rin and the flabbergasted Lucy.

Valentine's shoulders slumped, "I see...you're just like him... You want to stay like this. Forever in a town that never moves. While the cities around us change and flourish, Luin will remain a backwater town forever. Just like Seth...unchanging...just like....the vampires that control it." He squeezed his eyes shut, "I've tried living like this...it's no use. Never changing... Not living...not really. It's frustrating. Seth couldn't hold a relationship and neither can I. Not with another vampire...all they want is your blood and power...and not with a human...they die so easily and their so skittish." He crouched in a corner and rocked back and forth on his heels, covering his face with his hands.

 

Balmore Manor

Rin smiled as she felt her touch him. Her cheeks turned rosy as a tingle climbed up her spine. "But I wish to become like you so I never will have to leave you. You cool body reminds me how protected I really am." She wrapped her arms around him. Rin heard the creek from the church door and jumped, latching tightly around him. Nervously, she laughed, blaming the noise on the wind.

Ceril sighed and sat down in the rocking chair. It was upsetting that he believed every vampire wanted to use them for blood and power. Hadn't she made it clear that she wasn't like that? "not every vampire is like you say. We aren't all blood and power hungry." ceril turned her head away so she wouldn't have to look at valentine anymore, or let him see her face. She wanted to be done with all of this so she could go back to being alone. It was better that way. It was how things were meant to be. Ceril was never meant to be with other people. It only lead to fights ans arguements.
