"Who's she?" Allen asked about the girl who'd came with Keel. "She's a Dhampire like us." Keel responded before he noticed the expression on Nina's face. "So,I take it that the call didn't go as planned."

 

Church

Rin didn't like the feeling of being away from Seth at the moment. She felt open and vulnerable. She wanted to approach him, but something in her head was keeping her away. She felt a bit ignored, and was very irritated with the woman, but she didn't understand why. "What's going on," Rin asked.

Annie leered up at nick. "i'm going to bed." she stormed out of the kitchen toward her bedroom. The only people she was used to being nice to her were her sisters. She never gave off a friendly personality and it made her almost feel sick having nick be so nice to her.

~orphanage
Ceril was surprised by valentine's response. She turned back to face him. "oh. Okay. Well come on. It's a bit of a walk back to my place. We can go back to master balmore's tomorrow night." she headed for the door.

 

Cabin

Nick waved to her, "Okay! Goodnight!" He sighed as she disappeared from view and entered Serena's room that she'd made up for him. Curling up on the bed, above the covers, he fell asleep, dreams of the forest and moon filled his head.

Orphanage

Valentine followed her, glancing down at her hand on his arm.

Payphone

Nina brushed back her hair, "No...the Lycan Hunter Society is going to send someone...but the person they're sending...I don't trust him. He's...unstable."

Church

Seth glanced to Rin, "She's been bitten by a Pureblood. She'll change in a matter of days."

Annie plopped down onto her bed angrily. She pulled the covers down so she could climb in. she would end up lying there for a few hours not being able to sleep. Her mind kept thinking about nick, trying to decipher those feelings. Not like it would really matter, he was leaving in two days time.

Ceril weaved through the streets of luin quite rapidly. She let her vampire abilities take over and even in heels, she was tremendously fast. Ceril eventually kicked off the heels, since they were hindering her ability to go even faster, plus she no longer had a dress to match the pumps. This one was garbage. She didn't slow down until they finally reached the forest. "my home is about another mile ahead."

 

Luin

Valentine followed, with her pulling him along, he didn't have much of a choice. But the woman was interesting. She called him by his name, and came when Seth would not to free the girl. "Why are you taking me there? I'm not your friend...I'm just...an ugly duckling in a family of swans."

Ceril sighed as she turned to face valentine again. She let go of his arm and pointed up to the sky. "because...valentine...it's going to be daylight in a couple of hours. I can't go with you in the daylight. I can manuever through the forest decently during the day, but it's dimmer there. it's to bright outside of the forest. Plus you still look pretty beaten up. I'm guessing you could use some rest. We'll go back to master balmore's tomorrow evening okay?" she wasn't in the mood to fight with him, and if he wanted her help he would have to listen. Otherwise it would just be another repeat of that afternoon.

 

Luin - edge of forest

Valentine nodded slowly, "Alright..."

Church

Seth gripped Lucy's arm tightly. "Who bit you?" She winced, "Some crazy guy...I think his name was Valentine." Seth growled.

Ceril flipped her red hair over her shoulder as she turned back to the trees. She entered the forest at a walking pace. When they were halfway through she finally spoke again. She was quiet, almost a whisper, but plenty audible for another vampire to hear. "you had that analogy wrong. The ugly duckling was a swan in a family of geese. That's why it looked ugly. Because geese are adorable when they're young, unlike swans. But once they molt and mature...then they outshine the geese. So you might be the duckling and just haven't finished growing yet..." by the time she finished her story, she came to a stop in front of a tall tree. Looking up at it, she smiled. "we're here."

 

Forest

Valentine looked up at her tree house home and frowned, "I would've thought Seth would provide better housing if you'd wanted."

 

"I see." Keel replied while Allen just had a confused look on his face. "Don't worry, I'll explain everything later." He said to his friend.

 

Church

Rin still felt out of the loop. She remembered the man who came to visit earlier today, the one that caused Seth to be in so much pain. "What are you going to do," Rin asked him.

 

Church

Seth frowned and let go of Lucy, returning to Rin's side. "Nothing...I can't do anything. She will change and it will be my responsibility to look after her from that time on. Just like Mimi."

 

Church

Rin thought back to Mimi for a moment. Although they hadn't spent much time together, she could tell that she was a very kind girl. It didn't seem like becoming a vampire slowed down the little girl either; in fact, it would seem that it improved her life, considering why she was brought here in the first place. "How long will it take," Rin asked.

 

~north woods: tree house
Ceril turned around angrily glaring at valentine. After everything she'd put up with, he could have at least feined politeness. She could tolerate a lot, but not when people made fun of her home. It wasn't meant to look pretty and normal. "for your information, I like it here. I already told you that I take absolutely nothing from master balmore. If I wanted to sit here and pretend I was still human by having a large extravagant house just for myself to remind me of how empty and lonely this life is I would. Yuka has been trying to get me out of this tree for years. I like it here. It has just enough room for myself and my clothes. It's meant to be a place of solitude. What's the point of pretending? It's too tiring." she quickly climbed up the tree, opening the trap door in the floor and climbing in. for a human, this height would be deadly, but for ceril it was no big deal. She sat down on the bed staring at the opening in the floor. She half-believed he wasn't going to come up. Being a pureblood, this was probably far beneath him.

 

North Woods - Tree house

Valentine poked his head through the trap door and glanced around. "What's the point of pretending? There's a lot of point. So you retain a notion that some part of you was human. Instead of living like...something...up in this tree."

Church

Seth shook his head, "For her...I wouldn't know. A few days? Hours? I've no idea how potent Valentine's powers are in turning mortals into our kind. Mine is a matter of days...his...might be weeks."

Ceril crossed her arms, eyeing valentine. "you can play charades all you want, but at the end of the day it's just a game. There's no use in pretending. I can sit here and reminisce about my past life all day, but eventually I have to wake up and realize I can never be that person again. The person I am now solely relies on blood to survive, has heightened senses and abilities for the necessity of hunting, and can't go out in the glorious sunlight or i'll ne fried to death. Pretending won't change anything." she let out a heavy sigh as she leaned back on the bed, with her legs dangling off the edge.

 

treehouse

Valentine closed his eyes and shut the trap door behind him. Rubbing his head he yawned, revealing long fangs. "The sun is rising.... Even if we refuse to pretend...there is only so much we can show of our real selves to the world... Everyone...would freak out if they knew vampires lived in the same town as them. To them...we're nothing but monsters. Whether that's true or not...is up to the vampire." He undid his tie and popped a few buttons open, sheding his jacket. "Vampires who are bitten and undergo the change...don't sleep... Vampires who are born like this have a choice to sleep.... We get tired...we can close our eyes and dream...but when we wake...it will not be because we're rested. Sleep for too long and your body forgets it's alive even with no heartbeat. The efforts of Vampire parents go to waste and you die... A changed vampire....and a Pureblood....neither of them have a chance at a normal life with a family. We won't die....our children are born dead...how much more suffering must our kind go through?"

Cabin

Nick stirred from his sleep, grumbling as the sun had yet to poke out from the distance. He hated waking up early, but it was best to get the jump on things. Stumbling around in the cabin, he searched for a shower with bleary eyes and unsteady balance.

Church

Seth tugged Lucy into his home along with Rin and felt a headache form behind his eyes. More problems to deal with because of his brother. "The both of you will stay here, in my home until I figure out what to do with the lot of you. Rin hasn't had any sleep...there's still time before school starts so go get a bit of sleep."

 

Church

Rin followed him closely. She didn't like what Seth had just told her. Even after all that's going on, she couldn't believe that he was still focusing on her schooling plans. She didn't trust Lucy, not one bit. "Do I have to go," Rin protested at Seth. "It just...doesn't feel right."

 

Balmore Manor - Foyer

Seth adjusted Rin's clothes once again and turned her towards the stairs, "I'll not listen to your excuses this time, young lady. Even a vampire's consort needs to keep the air of a normal life. School is apart of that." He patted her rear and sent her off towards the stairs. Taking Lucy firmly by her shoulder, his expression turned to stone. "As for you...there's a great many things I want to pick your brain at. Come into my study and we'll settle your arrangements."
