Luin - Orphanage basement

Valentine tilted his head to the side. "I suppose so...but look...I was true to my word...and still my brother does not show. Does he care so little for my wellbeing? Or is he frightened of the human? The Purge is over with...we are safe... Arent' we?" he looked at Ceril as if she had the answers. For the moment he looked like a lost little boy, rather than a vicious pureblood Vampire on the loose. The girl cast dark blue eyes up at Ceril and silently pleaded with her to let her go in one piece.

Luin - Cabin

Nick blinked open his eyes, let out a low whine, and released her. "Ann....Serena? I'm going to guess by your expression I did it again? I grabbed you didn't I.... I'm sorry Serena." He didn't feel like justifying himself, so he simply stood and meandered into the cabin. Sniffing for Vickie. "Is your little sister around?"

Balmore manor - Seth's room

Seth let her kiss him and purred, "Could this be my angel of mercy come to take me from this acursed world?" Smiling, fangs and all, he licked her lips.

 

Balmore Manor Seth's Room~~

Rin was blushing. She had never been referred to as an angel before, no matter the situation. She liked her role in this little fantasy though. "I am the one who came to you, my Dark Angel, for salvation and happiness. Granting my wish, I will give you whatever you so desire." Pressing her lips against his, her tongue searches for his. The warm feeling of salvation.

 

~north woods: cabin
Serena stood on the step confused as she followed the man inside. "yeah um...i think she's in her room getting ready for bed." she pointed in the direction of vickie's room and hung back in the hallway. She couldn't get it off her mind what nick was going to originally say. he was most definitely going to say annie. There is for sure something going on there. serena smirked and let out a small chuckle as she went back to fixing her room for nick to stay in it.
Annie stepped out of the shower feeling a thousand times better. She rubbed her hair in the towel before wrapping it around her body. Annie brushed her teeth before stepping out of the bathroom with her dirty clothes tucked under her arm. She let her damp hair hang loosely over her shoulders as she headed for her room on the other side of the house. at least I can walk around freely since nick is asleep outside. she smiled as she walked.

~orphanage: basement
Ceril walked cautiously over to valentine, setting a comforting hand on his shoulder. "i couldn't possibly tell you what is going through master balmore's mind. But i'm sure I can tell you what is going through this girl's mind." she pointed to the human who looked terrified and worn down. "you need to let her go. This isn't helping anyone. All it is doing is hurting everyone involved." she pleaded with him. It wasn't how she expected things to turn out, but hopefully it would work out without a fight.

 

Luin -Cabin

Nick pushed Vickie's door open a crack and sniffed. "Vickie? Is it alright if I come in?" He waited for her answer. He liked the small girl, even if she hadn't changed into her wolf form yet.

Luin Orphanage - Basement

Valentine moved his head to look at the girl tied to a chair and his face changed into a hard mask of anger. "No...no one goes anywhere. Not until Seth admits he was wrong and ruined our family and their lives! He destroyed my reputation and took my place as the family heir. He ruined my future as a Balmore!" Lashing out, Valentine caught the girl on the side of the head and knocked her and her chair over. A glitter of metal necklace spilled out of the neckline of her shirt. A name necklace read Lucille.

Balmore Manor - Seth's room

Seth started to open his lips and suddenly stopped. "Stay quiet Rin...do you hear that?"

Outside the Church

Suzaku crouched in the church piers and listened hard. Jumping down, he chucked a whole pier at the far wall, rattling the hidden door.

 

~north woods: cabin
Vickie looked up, noticing nick in the doorway. "okay." she went back to playing with some toys on the floor. They were her only company other than her sisters. Vickie would become bored of her toys quite often since they were never really true company. All the little girl wanted was at least one friend that wasn't family. Someone she could talk to and play with.
Annie made her way to her bedroom, surprised to see her sister sitting in there on her bed. She put her dirty clothes in a basket and stepped into the closet to change. "what's up sister dear?" she hadn't seen nick come in, annie was at a loss for why serena would be in her room. "nick woke up when I put the blanket on him. So I finished making my room up for him. I was just going to head right bed, but I wanted to talk to you about something first." serena thought of the way nick acted on the stoop, about to say annie's name but then changed it when he realized it wasn't her. How he went off looking for her without saying anything and the way annie had been looking so concerned when he fought the vampire. Annie was never concerned about anyone other than family. It didn't if they were risking their lives as long as she and her family were fine it didn't matter. "what do you want to talk about?" annie stepped out of the closet in a black tank top and a pair of purple satin pajama shorts. She walked over to the bed, sitting down next to her sister. "do you like nick?"

~orphanage
Ceril hurried nervously to the woman's side. She grabbed the chair and stood it up, having no problem lifting it due to the super strength. She held the name on the necklace in her hand briefly for a moment. The name started eating away at her. It wasn't this human's name, but that of another. the pieces started slowly fitting together in the puzzle of her mind. She had only seen the girl a handful of times, but everyone knew the story. Looking at the woman now, the similarities were uncanny. Ceril couldn't help but wonder if seth knew. Most likely not. She let go of the cgain and carefully tucked it back inside of the woman's collar. Turning back to face valentine, ceril wiped every realization from her face. "lord valentine, he didn't ruin your name. Because of this woman he ruined his own name. I attend master balmore's parties, I see how the other vampires look at him. Especially lady lorrietta. Everyone is waiting for him to slip up again. And now he has a new familiar. It's only a matter of time. He destroyed his name, anything that happened to you would be your own fault. But you can't keep her here. It will only bring more sadness. Master balmore does not want to come because he knows miss lurim never wants to see him again. What exactly do you want this to turn into? Just another fight like this afternoon? Fighting isn't going to solve anything. It onky causes pain. Look at yourself, it's evident hat you were in another fight after you saw master balmore. You're wounds are still healing. They look rather bad to. Please just let her go. So that everyone can live their lives peacefully."

 

Outside Balmore Manor~~

Johanna had been keeping track of little Mimi's movements. She followed closely behind, just in case there were some stupid teenagers camping out for the night. Mimi wouldn't be able to control her instincts if they came across anything of the sort. Suddenly, Johanna felt a strange shiver fall down her spine. She was uneasy, mostly because she worried about Mimi's safety.

"Mimi," Johanna says in a whisper as she caught up to the little girl, "let's go back to the house."

Balmore Manor Seth's Room~~

Rin's smile seemed to fade. She didn't like the sound of his voice, the sound of worry. It was just like when it was with the other vampire. She listened, but there wasn't anything she could hear. "I don't here anything," Rin whispered to him.

 

Balmore Manor - Seth's room~

Seth frowned and moved swiftly to his door. "There it is again... Come with me Rin, I'll keep you safe in another room." He held the door open and reached his hand out for Rin.

Church of Luin~

Suzaku flung another pier at the wall and cocked his head. "Wrong...? No...not wrong...different measure of strength."

Cabin ~

Nick sat on the floor beside Vickie. "You're...not afraid of me cause of what I am, are ya?" He watched her play with mild curiosity. "I remember when I was a pup and my ma told me to remain inside until my first full moon when I changed. She was terrified I would run rampant around town and eat this girl I liked."

Orphanage Basement~

Valentine watched Ceril and looked everywhere but at her as she spoke. His twisted mind struggling to make sense of her words. The girl wiggled her hands out of the bonds and yanked down her gag, "You get away from me you sicko! What the hell are you!? What's wrong with you!?" Valentine snapped, spinning around to face the shrieking girl, grabbed her hair and yanked her head to the side, sinking his fangs into her neck.

 

Balmore Manor Seth's Room~~

Rin moved cautiously towards Seth. Her eyes, adjusted to the darkness of the room squinted when the hallway lights appeared. She wrapped her hand tightly around Seth's, smiling. "Lead the way," She whispered, clutching onto his arm.

annie was taken aback. she really didn't expect serena to say something like that. after everything that was going on, she hadn't really thought about it much. she had felt different about nick than any of the other wolves or creatures they had encountered, but never once had she thought it was because there might be feelings. "i...i don't know. i don't think so...i never really like anyone before. other than jimmy thompson in the fourth grade, but even that was a harmless crush. it would be silly anyway. in a matter of days he'll be leaving to go back home to his pack. we've never been in a pack. it's always just been our family. even when mom and dad were alive." she sat there cross-legged and confused. affection was a strange and foreign emotion for her. not like serena that cared for anything that moved. she noticed her sister grimace and became confused. "you don't like him do you?" the thought suddenly made her sick to her stomach and a little jealous. "ha. absolutely not. i can just see this is bothering you. forget i brought it up. he's talking to vickie. if you want to go talk to him. i'm just going to crawl under the covers and sleep." she stood and pulled the thick purple and gold embroidered comforter down so that she could slip inside of it.
vickie stopped playing with the toys and listened to nick speak. his story had intrigued her. even with her sisters explaining what was happening, they still weren't sharing information. she frowned and stared down at the doll in her hands."really? i don't know why my sisters are keeping me locked up. it isn't really bothering me. i just want to hear answers. they always keep secrets. today is the first time they said anything. only 'cause that meanie at the gas station was talking to me. i prolly wouldn't have know if it weren't for him." her face turned a slight red with anger. she loved her sisters, but she hated that they kept so much from her because she was so much younger than them.

~orphanage: basement
ceril panicked. this hadn't gone in the least bit of how she hoped. it might have turned out okay if it weren't for the human screaming. "no! you must stop!" she lunged forward trying to rip valentine's face out of lurim's neck. with both hands wrapped around his forehead she tugged with all of her strength. the human was either going to be turned against her will and drained of all her blood until she died. neither of those outcomes were okay in ceril's eyes. the whole reason she came was to prevent this.

 

Cabin - Vickie's room

Nick picked up a doll she'd set down and examined it. "They told you the truth eventually. Being a werewolf is tiresome and difficult. Every day is a new adventure and a struggle. We have to uphold the Keeping, and keep our secret from everyone. After all...changing into a wolf under the full moon isn't exactly normal." He set the doll back down, "Back home...we don't have any more pups being born at the moment. Everyone is too scared to mate...so the little ones we have now are our only hope." He lowered his head so he could look at Vickie's face. "Are you afraid of me?"

Orphanage Basement

Valentine let himself be pulled away by Ceril and the girl sat shocked by his actions, her neck bleeding freely.

Balmore Manor - Hallway

Seth moved silently down the hallway with Rin close to him. He could loudly hear the pounding of her heart and the thud of whatever was trying to break down the door. It came louder and the door collapsed inwards in a shower of dust. He stared down from the stairs to the man standing there, holding a Crossroads gun. "Dhamphir...."

 

Balmore Manor Hallway~~

Rin held on tightly to him, making sure that her own movements matched his. Her breathing became shallow to help Seth hear much better. She saw the man with the gun and quickly got behind Seth. Sweat started pouring down her face. "W-what's going on," Rin barely whispered.

 

Balmore Manor - Hallway

Seth kept a firm hand on Rin's shoulder, "Stay close Rin." He put in every ounce of menace and superiority into his voice as he addressed the Dhamphir downstairs. "You have no purpose here. This is my home and I don't welcome half-breeds."

Suzaku glowered at the Vampire above him. He held the air of a Pureblood. "I'm here to liberate our humble world of demons like you. I've already seen the girl...release her and maybe I'll let you live for a moment longer."

Seth kept his face a wall of stone. "Rin stays with me. She wants to be here with me."

 

Balmore Manor Seth's Room~~

Rin carefully stood behind Seth, doing her best not to show Seth's opponent how afraid she was. She didn't want to be taken away from Seth, that was a fact. No one was going to do that to her. "Be careful," Rin whispered to Seth. She felt a bit idiotic telling him that, but she simply wanted to voice her worry.

 

Balmore Manor Hallway - Foyer

Seth gave Rin a smile and swept his hand along her cheek and under her chin. "I will be alright."

Suzaku growled and squeezed the trigger, firing off a single bullet of blessed metal filled with ultraviolet liquid. It struck Seth in the shoulder The last thing Suzaku remembered was watching Seth's face turn from that gentle smile to shock and to burning rage. And then the blinding pain in his head.

Seth felt the bullet pass through his shoulder, leaving a burning trial behind it and lept from the railing and slammed Suzaku's head into the ground. He stood and pressed his hand to his wound.

 

Balmore Manor Hallway~~

Rin had trusted Seth's words...that is, until she heard the gun shot come from Seth's opponent. She wasn't quite sure how well a vampire could take a bullet would. Her eyes widened when she notice that the bullet did appear to cause some damage to him. She sunk down to the floor when Seth had left her side in order to attack the opponent. She hadn't realized how serious everything was. This was very different from the night that she allowed the vampires to surround her at the parties. She didn't want to die, and she didn't want Seth to disappear.

Rin looked over the railing, looking for any good sign from Seth. He seemed to be the dominate attacker, which didn't ease her stress, but it at least weakened it.

 

~north woods: cabin
Vickie frowned, not quite ready to forgive her older sister. "only 'cause we were in trouble. They wouldn't have said anything if he hadn't shown up. I see it every time something happens. They try to hide the looks, but I see. i'm not stupid." she let out a huff of anger, but it subsided as quickly as it came. "not scared of you. Just confused. Why are you here? And with us? Did you know my mommy?" she hoped at least one person would answer her questions. Maybe this strange werewolf man will tell her the things her sisyers have refused to do. For the first time, her probing questions might no longer go unanswered. This ray of hope glittered in her eyes and radiated across her face.

Annie debated going to talk to nick for awhile. Eventually her curiousitu got the best of her and she left the now dark bedroom. She first went to the kitchen to brew some tea. She wasn't exactly tired even though her body screamed that she should have been after all of the excitement from the day. Annie picked a flavor that was supposed to help with sleep. Figuring whatever he wanted to talk to vickie about was meant to be private, she sat down at the table. The dining room was dark, only being illuminated by the lighr in the kitchen. It casted all sorts of spooky shadows on the wall and she waited patiently for nick to leave vickie's room. She was never o ne for patients, but figured this was a good spot to wait in case he decided to head back outside to sleep. She lightly blew on the cup, taking sips now and again, listening to the ticks of the second hand on the clock. There was so much running through her mind that the tea wasn't really helping to calm her.​

~orphanage: basement
Ceril was struck with horror as the girl was oozing blood out of her neck. She had to try hard to subdue her animalistic instincts to lunge at her. Fortunately all the concoctions from the party and bear were still keeping her plenty full. She could last a few more days without needing any form of assitance. Ceril rushed to the girl's side, ripping the cloth off of her face to wrap around it neck. It wouldn't stop the bleeding, but it would slow it down. It wouldn't be able to escape so freely. "whst have you done?!" the question was directed at valentine even though she never looked at him. She was too focused on getting the girl to stop bleeding, it was far more important. All she could think about was how monsterous they all were. How for even just a brief second in time, she wanted to join valentine in lurim's blood bath. This was the curse they were forever destined to face. An awful and endless curse.

 

Cabin- Vickie's room

Nick tilted his head to the side, "Let me see....I can't exactly remember your mother...but I believe I met her once. She was a good woman...but that's all I remember. I was still a pup then. On to why I'm here....well...Yuel...err...Mrs. Balmore, a Pureblood Vampire asked me to look after her son. Which I really dislike doing..." He faded out from his words to the memory of Yuel asking him to watch over her son. Instead he'd met Annie, Serena and Vickie. A group of sisters he hadn't expected to see here. "In all honesty, I knew your sisters when they were young. I bet they don't remember me though. I was caught by a couple of Lycan hunters that decided to pump me full of silver before I got here. When I caught your sisters' scents I was kinda hoping they'd help me out. Lucky for me, your sisters are kind." He rolled up his sleeve and proded a crescent shaped scar on his forearm. "My father bit me to ensure I was a werewolf. He wasn't so certain when mom told him she was human when they first met and she started carrying me around. He bit her too...in the stomach, mind you...to ensure his saliva touched me." Nick winked at the little girl and wiggled his fingers, "It's easier being a human for some things though. Thumbs are a nice thing to have...but so is fur."

Balmore Manor - Foyer

Seth glanced up to Rin and slightly smiled. Though his shoulder burned. Remembering that feeling, he beckond to Rin for her to come to him.

Orphanage - Basement

Valentine staggered away, wiping his mouth of her blood and watched the girl's baby blue eyes dim. "Vampires and humans will never mix. Lirum knew that from the day she met Seth! Humans die slowly, day by day...Vampires die quickly, burning in the sunlight. I'm going to hasten her death by making her one of us...and I'll show Seth just what happens when he falls in love with a human!"

 

Bamore Manor Hallway~~

Rin's worried face melted away when she saw Seth's smile. "How cocky," Rin said to herself, letting out a small laugh. She quickly ran down the stairs and entered the foyer. She didn't fear the darkness that she was running into. Instead, she hurried into it, in order to embrace the one she cared about more. She hugged him, absent minded that he had just been shot. "I-I'm sorry," Rin said in a teary voice.

 

Balmore Manor - Foyer

Seth held her to him with one arm, letting his injued arm hang limp at his side. "Don't be sorry... You've done nothing wrong. Now...turn away, Rin, I won't have you watch this." He spun her around and knelt beside the Dhamphir. Picking him up by his collar, Seth unleashed most of his hunger on the man. Biting into his neck, he gulped down mouthfuls of his blood. Dhamphirs would never turn completely. By now their human genes were comfortable and their vampire genes dormant. He'd only make sure he could feel when the annoying Dhamphir was around. Changing the boy completely would take long, tiresome amounts of time and blood sharing on both their parts.

 

Balmore Manor Foyer~~

Rin nodded in obedience. She quickly turned her back away from Seth, covering her ears and closing her eyes tightly. Even though her hands were pressed roughly against her ears, Rin could still make out the sounds of flesh being torn apart behind her. No matter what though, she wasn't going to allow her curiosity to get the better of her. After a few minutes passed, she was wondering if it was okay for her to look.

"Can I turn around now," She asked, her voice a bit weak.
