Bloody Nightmare

Ten thousand years ago a church was built along a road that no one traveled. In the mornings the church is run down and broken. At night at 23:23 each night the moon is full, the church becomes a magnificent mansion that parties are held at that last all night...but if you go to that party....you will never leave. Or so it's said.

Rumors passed down through generations, losing pieces and gaining false lines, say that the party is held by a Vampire and his family. Only Vampires attend and if you go, you'll become their slave, pet, toy, child, lover...or one of them.

The town of Luin was built with two roads leading out of town and the one road leading to the church. The founders of Luin thought they would rebuild the church and start having mass there every Sunday. Shortly after they started reconstruction on a late Saturday, it rained continuously and didn't let up until the next Saturday. When they returned, the church looked exactly the same as when they'd first found it. Baffled, they left it alone and gave it the name of the Haunted Church. Villagers of Luin were forbidden to go near it.

The current Mayor of Luin lives in fear of the church as do all the rest of the adults. It wasn't until late that a child with bright blue eyes showed up in town. The child was dressed in white and was covered in scarlet blood. The town of Luin took the child in as all their child and named her Lucille.

For centuries the war between covens of Vampires has progressed, fueling the hatred towards their furry rivals, the Werewolves. When the Rise of the Dhamphir or Vampire Hunters came, Vampires were forced into hiding and Werewolves committed to a sentence of slavery or isolation. Dhamphirs are half-breeds. Half Vampire, half human. They lack immortality and bloodlust, but gain all the other features and attributes of Vampires. Fangs, speed, strength, and hearing. It made them the perfect warriors to hunt Vampires. Most Dhamphirs share the same childhood. Father was a Vampire, mother died during childbirth and either an Aunt and Uncle took the child in or a neighbor did. Twins were never born in Vampire Hunter families, nor did the mother ever survive.

In the current town of Luin, a Pureblood Vampire named Seth Balmore sought refuge from the Rise of Dhamphir and now lives out his eternity in an abandoned church with three Vampire maids. Yuka, Mirabelle, and Cooke. The small coven is one of the few that still controls much of Vampire affairs in the underground world because Seth is a Pureblood.

Bio: Seth hid from the Rise of the Dhamphir in the church in Luin before Luin was built and a year after the church was built. Feeding on the workers that made it, Seth kept himself an his three servants hidden during the Blood Purge and has lived there quietly ever since.
Other: The occasional party is held to catch up on affairs and handle them accordingly, though the humans don't know this. He likes his privacy and can also withstand sunlight for days on end.

Bio: Yuka has been with Seth since he can remember, which is faulty due to the extended period of life. Yuka says a real woman never tells her age and thus her age isn't known. She ran with Seth and led him to the church. Yuka's history appears to also be a mystery as she doesn't remember who turned her.
Other: Yuka is one of the few Vampires that have lived long enough to withstand sunlight.

Bio: Mirabelle worked for the Balmore household for 27 years and thus says that's when she started and stopped living. Mirabelle was turned the night of her honeymoon. She was attacked in the night on her way back from purchasing a new dress and so-called "died" in the street. Three years later she slaughtered her new husband and her family-in-laws and ran from Rome to Paris to America. After that she met Seth and the Balmore household and accepted work as a maid there in exchange that Seth would forgive her sins.
Other: Mirabelle has an obsession with roses.

Personality: happy, jittery, childish, and easily frightened
Bio: Cooke's age is exact to the very day as she counts them each day. Cooke was bitten and drained dry by a rouge that had no intention of turning her on her eighteenth birthday. Seth found her and fed her his blood and snapping her neck, completing the change. Cooke has resented and been grateful to Seth ever since, but though she loathes her existance as a Vampire, she lives every day to her fullest.

Bio: Suzaku's parents were murdered by Vampires when he was seven. He carries a hatred of them with him and yet works closely with a Dhamphir. He met Nina when he was on his first mission to take out a Vampire. Mistaking her for his target he nearly shot her down. Being attacked by a Vampire and saved by Nina, he promised his life to her and helps with tracking down Vampires since the Purge.
Other: Currently he's trying to form the Vampire Hunter Society. It's not going well.

Bio: Nina was born half Vampire, half human and has been rejected by both species. Choosing to hunt the monster that gave her life and killed her mother, she took a job and met Suzaku under unfortunate circumstances. She loathes her kind and Vampires very much, but has an obvious soft spot for Suzaku.
Other: Despite her cold outward appearance, her emotional responses to Suzaku change her mature face into that of a baby face.

IMPORTANT TERMS
Vampire: An undead being that feeds off the blood of the living. Dead blood, or blood of someone that is already dead is poisonous to them. Sunlight burns but crosses, holy water and garlic are all myths. Their hearts do not beat and they do not sleep, ever.

Werewolf: Beings that become wolf-like (Not entirely a wolf) under the full moon. The older they are, the more they can control when they shift. They carry a scent that is accute to Vampires.

Dhamphir: Half Vampire, half human. Most commonly known as Vampire Hunters. Their genetics allow them to be the perfect hunters for a being that can survive for millions of years. The have no bloodlust or immortality.

Onii-chan: Japanese term meaniing older brother.

Originator: Pureblood Vampire that is the source of the Pureblood's blood line. The one who originates at the beginning.​

Bio: Being orphaned at a young age Mark went through a rough childhood, seeing the worst side of people. He has set out to do his best to make all species coexist peacefully, thinking that if there were less unexplained problems that people would have less to blame eachother for.
Other: Mark uses a sword among other weapons, and wears a set of dogtags that are too scratched to read.

Personality: Simon is mentally unstable. He suffers from a plethora of mental disorders, becoming "emotionally" numb. However, he tends to wear a smile and laughs... a lot. His jokes are often crude and morbid, and the things he says tend to not make sense. He isn't aware of time and tends to forget important things, especially when it comes to his own life. His desires are often disturbing and suits his mad-persona. Simon lacks compassion and the ability to love. What he lacks there is what he makes up for in strength. He's naturally charismatic despite his disturbed personality, has the ability to make people feel sorry for him even though he can't feel sad or depressed, and has an anger problem that is the equivalent to a natural disaster on a very, very bad day. Due to his person, he's highly dangerous and volatile. He also often acts as a child, despite appearing as a young adult, often appearing as ignorant of his own demented sense of humor. Simon's psyche also appears to be fragmented, giving him several different personalities; ergo several different levels of intelligence and desires. Another trait he possesses is compulsive lying. Being a mental mess, Simon is one of those vampires that could be considered as an immediate danger to himself and others.
Bio: Not much is known about Simon. Due to his lack of comprehension, he tends to be a vagrant who believes he can do what he wants, when he wants, without any consequences towards his own person. Wherever there's chaos or fear, he's been there.
Other: Pertaining to his nihilistic personality, Simon appears to suffer from an acute form of Psychopathy, along with Autism, Multiple Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Dementia.

Your picture won't work. And to be a nit-pick, Purebloods are incapable of lying and suffering from mental disorders. So I'd rather he be not known as a Pureblood. It just makes things easier along the lines of who's really in charge.

No one seems to want to adopt her though because she doesn't look or act like the other children. Recently, she has developed a strange cough, which isn't a good sign.
Other: The reason she is short is because she has a growth deficiency, but she isn't considered a "dwarf".

Bio: Keel was born to another Dhamphir who never really spoke about his father or who he was and often avoided the topic all together. He found out who he was when he came home and found most of it in ruins. The only clue he had as to who did it was a sliver haired vampire exiting from the hole he’d made to enter, not even noticing Keel. Before he could attempt to follow him, he was stopped by his mother who explained that the man he saw was his father and how he never wanted a son in the first place. Ever since he’s been wandering around dealing with any vampire related problem with hope that he’ll find his dad along the way. During his travels, he met Allen on the outskirts of Luin

Bio: By the time Keel had found Allen, He had no memory of the past night. All he did remember was that he was going to Luin to check out the church and decided to stay at an abandoned shack along the way. Aside from seeing the silver haired man, the next time he knew he was Staring Keel in the face. So, he decided to tag along with hopes of finding out who was the silver haired man that he saw.
Other: Fights with a Short sword he found and may call Keel Onii-chan from time to time.

Balmore Manor~aka~Luin Church

Seth closed his eyes and sat perfectly still in the basement of the church. The sun was out and the children would be at play... It was his time for scribing and accounting...such boring work. Cracking one dark brown eye open he glared at his accounting books. They always gave him such a headache. No matter how many times he'd told Yuka not to give him green backings for his accounting books, she did it anyways. Green...a lothesome color...the color of life. He slid two pale white fingers under the right side of it and flicked his wrist, flipping the book shut with a soft slapping sound. Giving a small satisfied smirk, he took a deep breath and.... "Master, I do hope you intend to return to that book once you're done...breathing." the soft voice of a very familiar woman came from the doorway. Sliding his eyes over to her reluctantly, Seth silently pleaded with his first maid Yuka. Her brown hair was pulled up into a bun again and those bright blue eyes stared at him with such kindness and affection that Seth felt bad and opened the book again. "Yes...I do indeed, Yuka." Seth hated his duties and yet Mirabelle was probably upstairs cleaning up and Cooke preparing an unnecessary bounty of food for the party tonight. "Yuka...remind me again why vampires come to my parties?" Yuka huffed, her maids outfit barely moving as she quietly stepped closer to him and smoothed his brown hair back from his forehead, "Because you are the last Pureblood. They must show their respect for you and attend at least once a month to do buisness. Lest their companies go under and all of Luin would suffer." Seth smiled and scralled a bit into the accounting book, "We've made a small profit of late...but it was demolished by the last expenses for the party and cleanup. Cooke demands more spices that get more expensive and Mirabelle longs for the completion of a roof over the gardens so she can work in the daylight." Yuka gave him a sympathizing smile, "Such is the work of the Pureblood Seth Balmore."

Suzaku snored on the tree branch that he'd camped on last night. Having let Nina catch up on her sleep, he felt exhausted and sleep had overtaken the red-headed Dhamphir. "Suzaku...Suzaku...hey! WAKE UP!" His eyes shot open and quickly focused on the extremely close pale face of Nina Tepes, his partner. "Nina..how many times must I ask you not to wake me like that? I'd prefer to be woken up by a gentle...kiss." He grabbed her around her waist and pulled her against him. "See?" Nina frowned and slapped him, "All I see is you being a womanizer again. You're terrible, Suzaku."

Luin~

Lucille hurried out of her adoptive family's home and rushed down the road towards school. She'd be late, so very late! Still fiddling with the buttons on her shirt, Lucille tripped and landed face first on the paved road. "Ow ow ow ow ow....sheesh...I'm sooo gonna be late... I didn't even have time to grab breakfast." she moaned as her stomach growled at her. Picking herself up and dusting her black skirt off, Lucille started again, being a bit more hasty.

 

Luin~~

Just arriving in the town of Luin was Keel and his knew partner Allen. They both had the exact same idea of checking out the so called haunted church that everyone seemed to avoid. "Onii-chan, you never did tell me why you want to see the church." Allen asked. Eversince they meet, Allen been calling Keel onii-can as his new nickname. "It a little personal. He replied as he ran his hand through his black and red hair. "Now my question for you, why do you call me onii-chan?" Allen gave Keel a smile before giving his answer. "No reason in paticular, I just consider you my brother." Keel gave out a sigh as they continued to move through the town.

 

Luin Hospital~~

The sun had almost made its way over the horizon and Johanna knew that her time was up. She had been working there for as long as she could remember, even before she was a vampire. After saying goodbye to a patient who seemed to be on the brink of death, she made her way down the hall. She turned to the visitor's lounge, and thankfully, it was deserted. Careful, she pushed a part of a wall, revealing a secret passage way. This was the tradition of her life ever since she came back to being a nurse. There was no place that she called home besides the hospital. She stayed inside the cramped hidden basement until the daylight had completely vanished.

"Now I know how Shelly's monster feels," She would sometimes grumble to herself as she made her way to a small chair with a stack of books next to it.

Luin~~

Rin didn't enjoy waking up so early. She enjoyed the dreams she had. In this one, she had left the orphanage forever and had the ability of flight. She wanted to see the entire world, be free to explore everything. They're just dreams though, Rin thought to herself, getting herself dressed for the day. Just like the thought of someone picking me to go home today; just silly, old dreams.

 

Pathway to the Church....

Suzaku jumped down from his post in the tree and glowered at the church's looming figure. Though the sun shone on it, he still felt uneasy about it. Could vampires still be lurking...even in this quiet town of Luin? Nina tossed his bag onto his head, distracting him from his intense thoughts. "Nina...! Alright, I'll head into town and see what I can get....s'not like we've been paid in little over a month by the society...but still..." He yawned, showing off his small-ish vampire fangs and ruffled his red hair, only smoothing the white streak down the front of his bangs. "I'm off Nina! Be good while I'm gone. For crying out loud...put the bunny rabbit down!" Nina pouted and stuck her tongue out at him, "It's not a bunny rabbit, stupid! It's a squirrel! What's the problem? Vampires drink blood daily. Why can't I, a mear half-vampire, drink that of an animal? S'not like I'm hurting anyone." Suzaku folded his arms and tapped his booted foot, "Put him down, Nina. He's got a little squirrel family too. I'll bring you back some jerky to curb those cravings. Jeesh..." He started to walk away and Nina set the squirrel down. "Dhamphir's have needs too!" she called after him. Suzaku worried as he walked, She's more vampire day by day...


Luin High School~

Lucille dozed in class, after having arrived late, and hungry.....she wasn't a very good student. The vampire lore book slipped from her fingers and clunked on her desk, startling her awake.

Balmore Manor////

Cooke, a curious young vampiress with purple hair and violet eyes stared at a recepie for minced meat pie and frowned, "They're joking...right? This sounds gross. I'd rather make a trifle with all those sugary layers combined with a Sheperd's Pie with it's meaty goodness than this thing. Oh how nasty...how do humans eat these things?" Flipping a few pages she stared longlingly at a picture of a truffle and drooled a bit. "So good...there's the delights!" Noticing the sunlight creeping across her stove, Cooke glanced at the clock and scowled, wrinkling her cute face, "Oh bloody hell! I never have enough time to read! Stupid Onii-chan...how many times have I asked him to put a cover on that window?"

Red....the color of the blooming roses. White...the color of the opening tulips. Purple...the color of a flourishing lilac tree. And green...the color of finely watered and trimmed grass. All was perfect in Mirabelle's garden. She stood on the edge of shadow and sunlight, longing to be with her flowers just a bit more. Flowers didn't leer at her body or catcall...or grope. They were tender things, silent things....delicate...like her. Mirabell's red hair bounced around her ears as she turned and walked down the hall towards her rooms. She hesitated at the edge of the stairs to Seth's little study. "Master Seth~!" she called. Onii-chan~ she called in her head. She'd never let Seth hear her call him onii-chan. Unlike Cooke or the other vampires that came for his parties. "Good morning Master Seth!"

 

Luin~~

When they had arrived at the town of Luin, Keel hadn already started to look for the roadway leading to the church. He had almost given up until Allen had tapped on his shoulder and showed him the way. "Thank. I'm going to go ahead and check it out, you stay here and take a look around town. Keel said before heading off in the direction of the chruch, leaving Allen to do what ever he pleased. "Guess I'll look around town." Allen said shrugging his shoulder before he started to move around the town.

 

Luin Bank~~

Anthony smiled as he watched the woman leave her office. It was yet another investor, with whom he had easily taken money from. All he had to do was charm women with his powers, and they would do exactly as he said. The best part was that nobody seemed to notice anything going on. As long as he worked hard, no one would bother him at all. Who would actually think a vampire worked in the daytime? It was the perfect cover. His office was away from any type of windows, hidden deep inside the bank.

Luin Orpahnage~~

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are!"
Rin sang to herself everyone morning when she was getting dressed. She was the always the last one to bathe, the last one dressed, the last one to eat breakfast (which was eggs and toast today) and the last one into the playroom. It wasn't that she was slow; none of the other kids seemed to enjoy her company. Even when she got up early at sat with a crowd at the food table, the other kids would go out of their way to make her feel unwelcome. It wouldn't hurt Rin so much if she knew why they acted like that towards her.

After eating her breakfast, she went out into the yard. There was a small tree near the porch that she liked to sit under. With a book in her hand, she hummed to herself, reading, as the other kids pretended as if she didn't even exist.

 

Wilderness near Luin~~
Mark cracked his eyes open, glancing at the forest around him, he had been sleeping on a large branch high up in an old tree. The Dhamphir groaned and sat up, resting his back against the tree as he starred down at the forest floor several feet below him. Running a hand through his hair to get it out of his eyes, he stretched a couple times and yawned, then slipped down the ten or so feet to the forest floor, landing in a crouch to absorb the impact.
Mark rolled his neck and shrugged his shoulders, then set out at a brisk pace towards the town of Luin.

 

Balmore Manor~

Seth crept up the stairs, peeking around the corner for Yuka's familiar brown hair. Seeing nothing, he sighed, straightened his spine and loosened his tie. "Finally..." "Master Seth, where are you going so early in the morning?" Seth swallowed nervously, "I'm going to the orphanage...and then to the bank...to check up on a good friend of mine. Is there a problem, Mirabelle?" Mirabelle, despite her outwardly appearance, smiled and waved, "Have fun then. Don't stay too long in the sunlight." Nodding and flicking a wave behind him, Seth gently shut the old door of the church and squinted against the sun. "So bright..." He sniffed at the air, "Gross...Dhamphir...well...it's not like they'll actually find us living here. Not until...oh, it's tonight! Hm, parties..."

Road to the Church///

Suzaku stopped when he spotted Keel and lifted one red eyebrow. "Huh...didn't think the Society of Hunters had sent another out. How annoying." He waved anyway.

Luin High School...

Lucille sighed; break time wasn't her favorite as her friends always spoke about something she had no interest in and the scent of Axe in the halls was giving her a headache. She sniffed her clothes and grimaced, "It's rubbed off on my clothes...just great."

 

Orphanage~~

Today was much hotter for Rin than the past week had been. It was odd; although it was hot outside, she also felt very cold. Not feeling well, she left her favorite spot and went back inside.

"A-choo!" Rin sneezed.

Rin had always been prone to getting sick; it seemed like every other week, she was coming down with something. It didn't help that she saw a group of adults coming through the walkway. No one wanted to adopt a sick kid...
