Yesterday, five new scans that we posted yesterday included a bunch of new screenshots from the PSP title KINGDOM HEARTS: Birth By Sleep. The scans focused on the two confirmed worlds "Castle of Dreams and Deep Space (Lilo and Stich). Gameplay was also introduced to the new scans, which is shown more in scans four (4) and five (5).
The new scans also included an interview with Nomura about KINGDOM HEARTS: Birth By Sleep. The interview gathers a great deal of information. The Tokyo Game Show, gameplay, playable worlds, Aqua, Ven, Terra and the new enemies are all mentioned in the interview below. Thanks to our forum member "AxelRikkuconnection" for letting me know. Also thanks to FF7AC Reunion for providing the interview.
Nomura Interview:
Three characters can be controlled in Birth by Sleep. How will they develop?
Nomura: At the beginning of the game, you can choose which character you want to control until the very end. Each scenario reveals its own aspects of the adventure. It is almost as if there were three games in one.
How long can you play as one character?
Nomura: We estimate approximately 15 hours. When you customize your deck, it will take time, so if you do all three characters, the time of the game could exceed fifty (50) hours.
Are the three characters evolve separately?
Nomura: In some places, two or three of them find themselves and others. They will be together. For instance when Ven is seeking clues and pursues Master Xehanort, Aqua is trying to find Ven, but she is very concerned for Terra.
Not much has emerged about Aqua. Who is she?
Nomura: Aqua is a very serious person. Aqua is a honor student devoted to her work.
There's been questions about Ven.
Nomura: There hasn't been much information, but there are many puzzles/mysteries in this game which are explained. Ven has similarities with Roxas, but with Sora too. Ven's personality is much more serious than the other two. The way Ven fights is very different from Roxas and Sora.
What about the new enemies?
Nomura: The enemies are named as the "Unversed. (Mike's Note: Weren't they called un-births? I would say that's a rough translation on my part.) These enemies do not appreciate life, and feed off negative feelings.
Two new worlds have been announced.
Nomura: This time, the story is more of a deep feeling. Not only the mian story, but the connections with the words from Disney will indeed be deeper.
In the world of Cinderella, you used the scene of the glass slipper.
Nomura: I really wanted to use this scene (laughs). When you say "Cinderella", you think of the glass slipper. (Mike's Note: Rough translation, but it also mentions Ven and Jack).
The world (Lilo & Stitch)
Nomura: It takes place before Stitch got his name, which is why it is in space and not in Hawaii. The space world is shown instead. It should be interesting.
Will we know more about the seven princesses of hearts?
Nomura: (Mike's Note: ROUGH TRANSLATION)
What is the battle system like in this game?
Nomura: Birth by Sleep is gets further than KINGDOM HEARTS: 358/2 Days and KINGDOM HEARTS: Coded. The three heros in this game perform different and have their own styles from Sora. The deck system and "Shoot Lock" also contribute something different.
What are the main features?
Nomura: Instead of thinking, you must use your reflexes. I think you will feel which button to press at a certain time.
Can the command in the deck be set for myself?
Nomura: You can customize them before, like in KINGDOM HEARTS: Chain of Memories. (Rough Translation) This may be a mini-game.
It's something we have never seen in the series.
Nomura: I wonder if we have not gone too far (laughs). It's something we prepared for a long time now. We'll share information regularly on this. It's necessary to look forward to information in the future.
Can we develop combat styles specific to these commands?
Nomura: Once you have this system well in hand, you can make your own style. We made sure that the player does not need much thought.
The Tokyo Game Show will take place soon. Will there any demos?
Nomura: (rough translation)
Is there a release date for Birth By Sleep?
Nomura: Birth By Sleep is adjusting it in balance with the release date of Final Fantasy XIII. Birth By Sleep could be released before or after Final Fantasy: XIII depending how advanced production is. We won't wait that long.
Nomura continued and stated that a secret ending will be shown in Birth By Sleep.
