Biohazard (Remake)

OOC: Oh, I know. But Jayne has an irrational fear of it, and as such will never touch anyone who has it, or anything they have touched.

IC: Jayne took the plate of food, not wanting to appear ungrateful. "Thanks," she said quietly. Then she picked up a fork and started mincing the eggs. Eggs had been something she had eaten a lot of when her mother was sick. They were easy to make and easy to eat, and her mother had loved them, so every day, when cooking for her mother, Jayne would also cook up a couple eggs for herself. Now she hated them.

 

Mya shrugged. It all comes back up sooner or later. I only eat when I desperately need it. She let out a nasty cough before shaking her head. Sorry about that. Anyways, tomorrow morning, the daily guards will be handing out food and medicine to the survivors. So don't go crazy and attack them.

 

Danni took the food happily, it was the first she'd eaten since she left her village and she needed the food. She ate quietly and listened to what the others said carefully. She nodded in responce to Mya, making sure her mouth was empty she replied, "Ah, okay." She looked at Jayne, "In answer to your question, I've been lucky enough not to have come down with any of the symptoms yet. I don't know if that means I've not got it yet or I'm just at stage one. I suspect it won't be long before I get it too in either case." The sad truth of her words rang clearly in her mind causing her to look down at the floor momentarily as her mind drifted before refocusing on Jayne.

 

"If anything I'd say I'm at level 1." Ren said taking the food. With any luck the symtoms won't appear for awhile, but for now he would just have to wait and see.

 

Jayne felt better now that she knew a few other people hadn't got the virus. It made her feel less... alone. From what it sounded like, Mya wouldn't last much longer, maybe a month or two at best. And most others, they would be gone eventually too. But at least there were a few others who weren't on death's waiting list. But how long is that going to last? A voice whispered in her head. Ren might have it, and if he does, he's as good as gone. And what about Danni? She came here for a reason, she's obviously not from these horrible slums. She probably has a family somewhere, and she'll do whatever it takes to help them, you think she'll last long before It gets her? Just wait, you'll be all alone again before you know it. Jayne looked down at her egg-mush. Not that she had been planning to eat before, but now she really wouldn't be able to choke anything down. Just you wait...

 

Mya glanced at the clock before turning back to them. It's getting pretty late. You guys should get some sleep. She got up and headed back to the kitchen, examining the oven.

 

"So, where we going to sleep at?" Ren asked finishing his food.

 

She pointed at the beds on the other side of the room. Over there. Hope you guys enjoy your sleep. She took their plates and started washing them in the kitchen

 

Jayne got up from the couch and walked over to the beds. Even though she knew she was in a safe place, she habitually put her hand in her pocket and grasped the handle of her knife. She had done this every night when she was out in the slums. She usually stayed awake as long as she could, but when she had to sleep, she would make sure her knife was ready at a moments notice, just in case someone found her. She sat down on one of the beds closest to the door, again, just in case, and then she waited for the others to choose their beds and lay down. She wasn't used to trusting people, and why start now? She barely knew them, any one of them could turn out to be... less then trustworthy. She wasn't about to turn her back on them entirely and try to sleep. Wait, what was she thinking? These people had accepted her as no threat, why should she suspect them? She chided herself for being so suspicious. This virus is so stupid, she thought. the world was perfectly alright before the Hand of Death came down on us. Now most people are dead and those of us who are left will kill each other out of paranoia and desperation! You're lucky to have found people this trusting, you should trust them, or you'll just be all alone again and to stand together is to succeed. So, with every part of her being screaming to stay safe and protected, she took her hand out of her pocket, closed her eyes, and, laying down on the bed, she turned away from the others. After a few moments, however, she put her hand back in her pocket and grasped the handle of her knife again. Trusting is fine and all that, but there's no need to be stupid.

 

As Ren made his way to the beds, he began to wonder about his own condition. He was probably a Level 1, he could wake up the next day at Level 2 for all he knew. Guess I'll just have to hope for the best. Hopping on the bed, he soon drifter off to sleep.

 

Kanonno looked at Mya with sad eyes as she stood there, washing their dishes. A sudden urge came over her to offer some help, however she realised she was getting fairly tired, and those beds were tempting her aching joints more and more every minute. Maybe...in the morning.. she thought, smiling in agreement with herself as she slowly made her way over to the bed area. At the same time, however, she found herself thinking about Krill, and how he seemed to know her. She had no recollection of her past before waking up in the slums, perhaps he was important in some way to her? Or perhaps they shared a bad relationship. Whatever the reason, it appeared he was ready to break all of her limbs at a moments notice, which she began to worry about. She gave a little shiver as she thought about what the man might me doing at this very moment, stalking, killing? He could be doing anything. He could be anywhere, maybe he followed them back here! Kanonno's eyes went wide with this thought, her palms and forehead started to become sweaty too. She could feel her heart slowly slide up to her throat, beating madly in fear. No! You can't think like that...you have allies here...that are trustworthy and mean you no harm...just relax... Slowly, as the worrying thoughts left her mind, her heart rate returned to normal and her palms dried up. Her breathing slowed down again to a normal rate and her muscles relaxed. "Everything...will be fine..."

 

OOC: I recommend we skip to the morning, just to keep the thread alive.

OOC: Oh. Opps. Life has been rather stressful as late so I apologise. Sorry.

BIC: Danni smiled wearily, come to think of it the food had been rather nice. She slowly made her way over to an empty bed, looking over at her new found friends. Were they her friends? She wasn't sure, she hoped so or hoped they would become so soon, she hoped they were trust worthy. Yawning once, she sat down on the bed and slowly began to get in but not before she positioned her bow in a way she could reach it and shoot at a moments notice. This wasn't usual for her but she wasn't at home where she was surrounded by family and it was almost impossible to move silently on their floor. She smiled, almost impossible - she'd learned to do it after much practice. But here she was far from home in an enviroment far from home, in the slums which already seemed to be a much more dangerous place. She thought she should really trust the people around her but she justified it by the thought she was protecting them. What if someone found a way in, however unlikely, and attacked them during the night? Then she could protect them at a moments notice. She sighed and layed back, staring at the roof for a while before drifting off.

 

OOC: Alright. Going for a skip to the next morning. Objections?

 

OOC: None. And Midnight, it's alright. I've completely forgotten about RPs before. lol, I have a really bad memory sometimes.

BIC: The next morning, the room was full of delicious smells as Mya placed plates of pancakes, eggs, and ham on the dining table. Judging by her looks it didn't look like she had much sleep due to her constant yawning.

Ren soon awoke to the smell of breakfeast. The smell almost made everything seem normal, too bad it wasn't. Getting up from the bed he made his way towards the table.
