Alright so last night at church we watch a video talking about what god will do if we do this and that. Well one of them said whoever destroys Earth shall feel God's wrath. So doesn't that mean that every person who has ever drove a car is going to die because they are in fact helping destroy this planet. So i'm wondering what verses in the bible would affect a majority of the people instead of the bible's case 1 person.
Not necessarily, since Biblical verses are essentially myths. If anything they are just warnings, lessons to be learned, etc. Quite a few stories are not even originally from the Bible to begin with. By the way C02 emissions are not the most contributive reason to global temperature. Even though I don't believe that this "global warming" issue is really that serious, there are other natural causes for the temperature to rise.
True that, both in causes and seriousness; volcanic ash emissions, and methane production from cows breaking wind produce more CO2 than most cars. Though, most scientists will get angry if you point this out. lol, there was this one special on the Discovery channel (I think), where the 'seriousness' of global warming would mean for us. One of the scientists interviewed said, basically, that science is never a for sure thing, nor are their predictions, but they are certain about the science behind global warming issue, and the predictions that they've come up with.
It's all mythical. Let yourself relax. Driving a car will not make you die unless you suck at driving or some ******* runs into you.
Let me guess, a Catholic Church, right? The Bible does not say anything like your italicized statement. Obviously you don't see people driving cards dying all the time, except in accidents. And as everyone said, plenty of natural causes contribute to pollution.
The BIbile in my opinion, like most other holy texts, is merely a book of information based on the teachings of the original founder. It is not a God's work, but a mans. It is their to teach us our lessons in life without having to live all the grueling ones, whilst still learning from the moral of the story. It teaches us to be part of a community that may well be foreign to us. It entertains people, questions people and ultimately is worshipped because of such things. The accounts of wrathful gods makes me think that one person wished to obtain power and control by exploiting some's belief, twisting it into a wrathful text. I may be wrong, but i've never read anywhere that a holy should be accounted and lived for word by word. IT is a template to me, and I like to leave the rest up to my own thoughts. The one arguement I absoluely hate is that cows produce more methane. It's moronic and redundent. I will agree that cows, and not to mention any other farm animal, are a great contribution to the CO2 in the atmosphere, but let's taking it back a step. They are natural emissions, a biological imperative that has happened for how many millions of years, since the first animal was born. Unfortunately, the inroduction of the artificial engine was not part of nature's design. Humans have upped the levels, maybe not by an amount that rivals the cows, but enough to put the mass of gases at a dangerous level. If we cut off all uses of fossil fuels, the levels of emission would be down enough that it wouldn't cause a major threat to the planet. But the first idea that pops into people's heads is that the silent but deadly cow must be behind the problems that we cause. Forgetting the fact we've relied on them for food, clothing, milk and not forgetting their farting, which has been going on for an age. Seriously, the cows have no beef with me.
I might be going a little off topic here, but I'd like to clarify that I don't have any "beef" with the cows either, I'm just saying that a good many natural things pollute the Earth far more than humans do. This whole pollution thing is not nearly as big of a deal as it's usually meant to be.
Umm, what version is your Bible? Cause this isn't in a Christian Bible. I suppose what this means is our world is in bad condition. :P
what they are trying to say is that we may not be creating more co2 emissions then the natural causes....but we are contributing into the world more co2 then would naturally exist thereby pushing the levels beyond the norm and into the danger zone
