    They aren't meant to be takien litteraly. They are like metaphors, telling you to follow the right way. You don't litteraly "turn the other cheek" when someone does something wrong.

    Ok I have to lose my cool for a second- SHUT THE F*** UP!

    Ok, no where in the Bible does it say to cut off your hand and sacrifice it in some bizarre ritualistic way to appease the beast within you- that's just crazy and the article it self says the man may have had mental issues, this causing an extremist view of Biblical teachings. So before you start claiming the Bible directly influenced this, please do some research.
