Depends on what kind of gaming PC you're talking about. I don't think a PS4/Xbox One could play BF4 on a 4K resolution at max settings above 30fps.​

 

Personally, I'm going for BF4

Consoles are dumb because if you're willing to spend 4 times as much you can get a better experience on a PC.

Because playing in 4K at max settings is really all that matters in a gaming experience. That's why videogames were all **** until recently.

 

I think the point is just that PC's still are more powerful than the next-gen consoles ._.

But...you can use it for more than gaming, and it'll have better sales for games through things like Steam, Green Man Gaming, GOG, Humble Bundle, etc ._.

 

My point was that you CAN make a PC like that, and you CAN personalise your PC to do different things, and make it your own PC, as opposed to a console.

Next gen is on par with most medium-high end systems currently, PC will surpass that in five years, but at the end of the day most devs who make games for PC and consoles will be dictated by console development.
They're both multi media boxes, they play games, films, music, surf the web, etc. Consoles can do things that PCs can't (without work) and vice versa.

Naw, but I just prefer consoles.

 

A console is a good alternative for someone who doesn't know how to build their own computer, and even if you go custom, a decent gaming pc is still going to end up costing more than a console.

Yes, you can build a PC that runs 4k res at full settings and customize it, but that's not the point of gaming.

The existence of a BMW doesn't mean that a Kia doesn't get you from point A to point B.

 

With this whole 4k argument, don't you need a 4k supported monitor or...? I mean if we include on top of this ultra spec hardware, doesn't it need a screen to display on? I've only recently in the last few months seen 4k TVs, but they are definitely not affordable, they're like what HD was about a decade ago, so i'm guessing monitors aren't much better.

Also, I've had more problems with my one PC than I've had with decades of consoles. PCs can be so aggravating sometimes. The great thing about console is you stick the disc in and play, instead of consulting on a forum about why your firewall is making your game freeze at boot or how your graphics card drivers aren't updated. Just so temperamental at times.

 

Surpass it in the next five years? Fairly certain it has long since surpassed it. I have a year old upper middle tier laptop that is well beyond the PS4 or XB1
PC will always be superior on the level of raw power, consoles jsut have other advantages
and on the main topic, I've heard both Ghosts and BF4 are fairly mediocre entries in their respective series (Though I've heard more good about BF4 than Ghosts)

 

Nah son. It's called puttin' in that work. 4k is overkill though.
