    Battlefield 4.

If you own any other CoD game, you own Ghosts.
New Battlefield brings more shiny visuals, more vehicles, weapons, more destructible environments, more LEVELUTION!

You'll have to excuse me for wanting to play a new game with a large online community.

    Probably the same.
Ok, if you really want detail...

t plays like any of the 6 main CoD console games released since 2007. Any video i've watched looks exactly like the last game of CoD I played 3 years ago, except with less colourful multiplayer maps, apparently a rehashed pitiful story and an the typical exploitable multiplayer mode housing no scopes, campers and overpowered killstreaks.
Whether it's fun or not is another question, considering the story mode of past games has been fairly dull and this has been reviewed with similar results, a multiplayer where the few elite get rewarded and dominate, whilst getting killed within 10 seconds or less of spawning. New aliens mode apparently is a nice twist on Zombies adding something fresh, but i've not heard much so, dunno.

    Buy at your own discretion.

Some people do hate the industry or 'what it's become' so it's not a new thing if someone did.

I heard Black Ops 2 was actually really well written. I wouldn't know, I haven't played CoD since MW2, but I hear Black Ops 2 honestly had good writing.

It was better than MW2 (the last CoD I played before Blops2), but it still wasn't all that great. It was obviously going for the 'MURRICA type of feeling.

The worst part about being in the military was people playing the campaign over and over again.

I heard it was alright, it wasn't going to compete against other video games stories but it's got elements of multiple choices, endings, etc, which shows a writing team that has got skills to develop a multi-layered narrative. Just from that I feel the writing is a grade above, but I've watched a few cutscenes, still a load of military bollocks.. I liked Black Ops story a bit, it was mad, but it wasn't well written.

I got Ghost yesterday and have been playing it. I'm not absolutely stunned by it but it's a pleasant game to just mess around in.

I would like to get BF4 soooo.

I'm guessing you mind the military "bollocks?" Because I sir, quite enjoy it. There's certainly an element of it in more games like Gears, Crysis, Vanquish, etc. It's expected when you're getting into an FPS. What I'm getting at, is we have different tastes and I might actually enjoy the plot to BLOPS2 if I ever care to play it.

    *smacks your hand*

    TASTE SIR. TASTE.

Military stories have at least five clichés associated with them, specifically ones revolved around squads, you've typically got a funny guy, a professional, the leader, one with a racist underlying attitude who loves killing and then a 'green' recruit. The comedian and the professional are usually at odds, the racist one goes too far, the leader leashes them in, whilst the recruit gets scared or killed off.
I'd rather watch a movie about war, they're better acted and more philosophical, deeper. Apocalypse Now over CoD any day.

And FPS games can tell a good story, Metro series, Thief, Dishonoured, without the need of military clichés. It might be a trend, but it's not the only nor best way to consume it.
I'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy it, like I said I enjoyed the first one, but it's not going to blow your socks off for its story telling.

you already have League and WoW! :P

but srsli, I would go with Battlefield because of how there is to do. There are a lot of roles to fill and different ways to play for everyone. You don't have to be a killing machine to be good at Battlefield, and they encourage teamwork a lot more. And despite how big the maps are, as long as you're playing on PC (which i know you will) the game doesn't get boring/it doesn't take long to get into fights, especially with how good the spawn system is in that game.

Hmm.... I don't have any say in the matter. COD Ghosts is pretty must the same as the other COD games for me, but Battlefield 4 looks kind of fun.

Eminen, you'll never force me to buy COD Ghosts unless I want to! D:
