So another company in the gaming industry has been hacked, with their own personal data being kept intact, as well as credit card detail and so on, but account information such as passwords have been comprimised. It's strongly advised any accounts with or associated with Bethesda should be changed asap. AS well, any passwords you use on multiple accounts should be changed for precaution as well.

These hackers are becoming a large nuisance to the gaming industry, with Sony, Nintendo and other companies have been hit, with a potential to be a threat in the future. It seems that the number one priority for the gaming industry is going to squashing this problem in the future, otherwise people will be deterred from trusting these companies in the future.

More or less. LulzSec seems to be doing everything for two reasons:
    1. The Lulz
    2. To motivate companies to improve their security.

Also, the hackers actually made it a point not to release the account information. They also seem intent on getting Bethesda to add their signature top hat as an official piece of equipment in Skyrim. Go figure.

But mostly for the lulz. They've hacked a few other sites (Like the NHS in the UK) but they never released any personal information and they actually told them how to increase their security. I can support them on that but other than that they're a pain in the backside.

Man, what's with these hackers. It seems they're doing this for fun and whatnot, but it's just getting tedious now.

Why don't they all do us a favor and hack someone we all hate. That's right, I'm looking at you Activision.

They hacked the NHS? So effectively they hacked the government? Wow, that's comforting to know...

Knowing their luck, they probably have the best security of all the companies, that's why no ones hacked them.

Rereading it it doesn't look like it was a big deal, just a few local admins. Still, it'll make the gov reassess into it's security in the public sector. And it makes you wonder why lulzsec were looking into it.

I understand the use when there is actual factual danger, but it sounds that with the statement you put that America was more likely being threatening then taking precautions. Give them a warning sure but not an out right threat against them, that just creates more hostility. And Hackers vs Hackers, that's more something I'd prefer as a stratagem to tackle the problem.

They've done more attacks? Are you kidding? These Hackers seem to be on a rampage at th moment. If they want to be relatively left alone at least wait a few months for things to die down. These guys need to control the power they use properly, otherwise they are no better then the ****** criminals like fraudsters. At least now they have some higher goal in mind for what they do.

That's some effort typing all that with a PS3 controller. I wouldn't be able to do it.
