I started thinking to myself 'I wonder who people think makes a better leader Marluxia or Xemnas?' So that's why I decided to make to ask. I think that Xemnas had an overall better plan, to use Kingdom Hearts and gain hearts, thus giving himself more power. Marluxia just wanted to kill Sora and make him lose his memories, (I haven't played COM so I'm just going off of the data I've collected) that's why I think Xemnas made the better leader.

  2. Xemnas.

Is not only that the plan was better, and whose wasn't. In the end, both had flaws, that while in the long run, the work put into it was positive and going as predicted, the actual consequences after was not considered. Even if Marluxia did succeed in taking control of Sora, there are others that will get in the way of that, and unless he also had a plan about what to do with the members if they join Xemnas's side, that's also something to go over. In Xemnas's case, it wasn't so bad, it will bring his members their hearts, but the main problem of that was, as figured by the end of KH2, is the misuse of power, and who knows whether his mind will change on what to do with it later on as he gets some kind of complex. That, and Sora and co., will not have let it happen.

Coming from that, I'm basing this on actual respect and power. With Marluxia being the 11th member, is hard to actually get the praising he wanted, even with the castle in his hands (which might have even been a secret scheme of Xemnas to corner him, possibly, due to suspicion). I'm certain everyone obeyed at some point when it didn't alter what they plan or do, yet with the rest, or those loyal members, betrayal just wasn't going to go through. And who knows if the rest will deem him worthy to be seen as a leader. I'm sure a few will disagree, or will plain out dislike the idea. Such as Vexen, who wasn't budging until Marluxia actually added Xemnas in the picture, and that was the end of complaining from the scientist as he was basically scared as hell. This is where power and presence start.

I do give Marluxia credit for even thinking of going against the Superior of the group, but while he has presence and skills in cold leadership the same way, he just isn't as powerful as Xemnas, or seen as such a high member for the rest to be passive about it. Is why he needed Sora to achieve the goal to take over. He couldn't do it alone. Xemnas can turn them into Dusk when he feels like it, order other wto kill traitors if need and dispose of them, and they will do so despite doubts or second thoughts, because there is no other choice. Death is obvious for all those in the equation, and Xemnas has the ability to do so. It depends on each, some might give him respect out of fear, and won't dare go against orders, or some actually do admire him, or some just put up with it in the hopes of getting their hearts (I think this is where Axel fits, and Demxy in this one and the one before it). Either way, is obvious that Xemnas has the upper hand, that not even Sora could defeat him alone and had to have Riku to help.

This is what Xemnas has above Marluxia. He has more leader qualities and has the tools, and perhaps knowledge of just how to keep everyone in check. Maybe if Marluxia had his own gang, perhaps, but not Organization XIII by that point. There were some loyal ones inside that will shield.

Marlixa would have put that whole thing in flowers! And have annoyed everybody. I think Xemnas is better....but I don't care I would have been an Axel in a way.

Xemnas has more control, stronger, and his plan was kinda better than Marluxia's.

    Okay.

Xemnas had (near) complete control of the org. This is demonstrated many times, such as when he merely raises his hands and they all appeared. Another example is how he had Luxord and Saix throw their lives away, simply to buy him time. Finally, one I am sure I will get some disagreement on, he got Axel to attempt to kill his best friend, Roxas.

Not to mention the beginning, where he convinced the rest to shed their human forms to darkness, or the way his heartless possessed Riku, manipulated Malificent and overall became extremely dominant.

His goals were pure, to the rest of the nobodies at least. He was trying to get them back their hearts. Through the promise of this, and a fist of steel, he kept them under his rule.

When anyone did try to rebel, he struck down hard, ending the conflict. He sent one agent into Castle Oblivion to kill the traitors. That one agent managed to kill all the traitors, and escape with his life. He hunted any traitors mercilessly, seeking Roxas to a digital world.

Murluxia on the other hand could not control anything. He had a rebellion to his rebellion literally going on in his own basement. To get Vexen to tow the line he had to bring in Xemnas. Namine ran away from him and thwarted his plans, Vexen went completely nuts, revealing secrets to Sora, Vexen's creation attempted to kill him and he did not recognize an assassin in Axel. All in all, he was crap at keeping his band under control. He had one sadistic woman under his rule. That was it.

So, comparing that, I think we can all see Xemnas was a better leader, even if only because he waited until he had some supporters before cracking open the iron fist. Murluxia tried to overthrow Xemnas and failed miserably. Axel was a spanner in the works, and Sora was a cog that flew out, taking his head off.

Xemnas was the one throwing the spanner. That explain their places and leadership qualities?

Probably Xemnas. He had a plan that invovled reaching the actual goal of the Org (Kingdom Hearts) and almost succeed. But Marluxia was too stupid to realise that his plan would fail, and betraying others makes it harder to trust other people. (I hope that makes sense xD)

    Xemnas.

Not just because he was the leader already, but doesn't it just fit?
He's someone that will seriously get something done if they've got the mind set on it.
( didn't say heart set on it. ha. wanted to, but we all know he doesn't have one. )
He also had the organization behind him. Marluxia being the 11th member didn't have all the
respect Xemnas had. Lastly, think back to playing KH: Chain of Memories and KH2.
I don't recall having to defeat Marluxia with Riku by my side. Just goes to show Xemnas
was more of a force to be reckoned with.
