I saw Beowulf today and let me tell you it was a kol movie but Im upset and satisfied at the same time, upset because they didnt follow the original storyline of the poem(or book if u will) and that Beowulf didnt kill Grendel's mom b4 he died, I'm also satisfied because it was intresting to see how they retold the story and some elements like the fighting scenes and the way Grendel slaughtered the people in the mead hall were intresting to watch.

    I'll give the movie a ''B''

    Chat about the movie here.....

I was a bit disgusted when I heard it was being filmed. I never intend on seeing that bastardization of old english literature. This is coming from reviews and clips but it looked awful. I hate it when decent to good books are made into feature films of sub par quality. The public doesn't want to know the story of Beowolf they want to see a bunch of highly stylized fight scenes and CGI gore. If I ever see it I'll give an opinion piece on it later.

I thought it was pretty good and went to see the 3d version and got some weird glasses to boot. It did deviate from the poem/story at certain spots but it was also detailed and the twists were not bad really. I wouldn't say it's my 'favorite' movie but I thought they did a pretty good job on it. Some people thought it would just be another "300" movie, but it was not. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 stars as a rating.

I think it both sucked and rocked at the same time. On the one hand, it was really gorey (I'm really queasy, so I had to close my eyes a lot.) and really violent with all the people getting shanked and stuff...and yet it was awesomely cool. The 3D rocked, too...I was really happy that it wasn't red and blue like it usually is.

But ew. Grendel was gross. *shudder*

My only complaints were that the women looked like they came out of Shrek at times and that the horses kinda failed. ><

Yeah, the whole movie looked pretty awesome as far as animation goes, but they failed.
