Becoming Human is Good?

He wasn't destroyed, he merged. There aren't any Unversed anymore because Vanitas doesn't have a physical form to either throw them out or control them. And I think the x-blade broke because Ven broke it intentionally. Then the shock of the x-blade breaking almost broke Ven's heart (literally, not metaphorically), so he had to go to Sora's heart to rest there.

Also, the Keyblade did choose Riku, just at a later date. It didn't go with him at the beginning of KHI because Riku turned himself over to the darkness. It didn't go with Sora because he was pure of heart (he's not, he has darkness just like anyone), it went with him because he's strong of heart. When Riku went over to the darkness, he betrayed his friends and his heart. It made him weak of heart. Sora was always fighting for his friends, for the people he cared about, so his chose him right away. When riku turned from the darkness and fought to save Sora, then he got his Keyblade.

It's not skill or fighting experience. If it was, Hercules or General Shang would get a Keyblade. First you have to inherit a Keyblade (by touching it), then you have to be sufficiently strong of heart that it comes to you.

 

Exactly they fused so even if he is destroyed they are both one being and as 3D shows Vanitas is still around or capable of comming back

What I meant, is that Riku was more qualified to have the keyblade as far as skill was concerned. After all, Riku was granted the power of the keyblade by Terra while all Sora did was obtain Ventus' heart. Also, I'm not entirely sure that Ventus and Vanitas were still merged. Had they been merged together, the x-Blade would have not incomplete/broken. Vanitas even says "Our union was not finished". They didn't merge, so Ventus' heart was still pure light.

They merged, may not have been complete but it is enough for the Cutscene in KH:3D to have happened at all.

 

I don't think their powers will be lost, Like Axel/lea is still able to use dark corridors to move about. Their powers awaken because of the lost of their hearts to darkness, even with their hearts back the darkness still lures in their hearts . In kingdom hearts worlds "magic" exists as knwoledge as well, and after someone discovers how to do (using darkness or light) they will always know how to do it, like the process of learning is the most important thing. Sora still had his magic after he lost the keyblade, Lea still had dark corridors with his heart back.

 

Yeah, also you could have mentioned Axel still using his chakarams and fire from when he was in O13

 

But Riku lost the power to open corridors of darkness after returning normal, so Lea after returning human should've lost the ability to use corridors of darkness. Nobodies can use corridors of darkness because they are born form darkness, but human shouldn't, unless they have a strong affinity with darkness (like Xehanort)

 

But, he knows how to open them, and Riku probably could have opened them after a little training and you don't need to be super strong and he was wearing the cloak so extra protection

 

Riku was still able to use corridors of darkness when in human form(he does it in 358/2), what made him unable to do it was the explosion of Kingdom hearts... normally one would not be "cleansed" like this.. For all we know Lea was not exposed to the same explosion , so even though he is human again his darkness are still there as much as they were just before he became a heartless, I think that Riku's darkness got sealed away just like it would if he had gonne to sleep at the end of reverse rebirth (using the powers of Naminé), yet apparently his darkness still lingered because of the plot of 3D.

 

You can't exactly seal away darkness. Like Xehanort said "You can't destroy darkness only channel it" thats what allowed riku to realize though finaly; to consume darkness and return it back to light.

 

Yeah, but at that point he was channeling Ansem SoD's power to open the CoD's and when that was gone he lost the capability to do so.
