We comepare beauty to beauty icons. Your second question is all phylosophical. I'm not sure about that one. I think it's the simliar answer as number one. We derive our sense of what is beautiful, in my opinion, unfortunately by beauty icons.

Of course the above goes for the typical mechanical bandwagonee person.

... I had a tough time sorting out the rest of this...

The rest seems all the same.

"I thought it might be ourselves.. But it can't be that.. What makes beauty soft skin and rosy cheeks? What is the line that separates beauty from ugliness? Not only beauty, what about perfection? Perfection in a general sense means "no flaw", but what is flaw? What about everything else?"

In a sense, it is ourselves. That's all I can say.

What is beauty is definitely up to the eyes that see.
It depends completely on the person and it's feelings.
Or what they think of as beauty.

beauty may be in the eyes of the beholder, but it is true that people are more atracted to beatiful people. I mean sex sells. All the "ugly" people are locked out of the community just because they are what nature made them. that's why I never insult anybody on behalf of their looks

But everyone is beautiful to someone. Just because one person doesn't like you or they think you're "ugly" doesn't mean that everyone else does.

And iammyself your right, people who are considered "ugly" are shunned by many of the more "beautiful" people. They think they are above others just because of the way they look. I've seen this when i went to secondary school. It was quite sad really.

I've seen though that people who are just attracted to the more "beautiful" people just by pure physical attraction that their relation does not last very long. I have seen guys who are incredibly hot but i know i wouldn't date because their personality is the complete opposite of mine. So it's not always about looks.

Ya'll overcomplicate this. "Beauty" is what makes you like looking at a person. That's it. If you enjoy looking at a person simply because of their looks, they are beautiful to you. There doesn't have to be any provocation due to their muscles or large busts or anything. There doesn't have to be any sexual inclination. If ya like to just LOOK at a person, they're beautiful. Simple as that.

In my opinion, "Beauty" is just a fancy word for "I have a sex drive".

    I am a beauty queen.

I've been in pageants and everything.

I don't consider myself above others. I'm not bragging, but my breasts are bigger than most others, and I'm not skinny but not overweight, as well as my hair being long and blonde (which is attractive to most guys). I've realized the hard way that's it's not all about beauty. I made some preppy friends and abandoned my old friend Natalie who I loved dearly. She wasn't consider hot or pretty, in fact, she is quite nerdy and got me into Kingdom Hearts. When I decided to get sexually active with other guys who I realized only wanted me for my body, my "cool" friends ditched me out of jealousy. I'm lucky enough to have my old friend back, but unfortuantely, no guy looks at me the same again. They look at me like I'm one of their play-whores.

Beauty has ruined my life, but it's getting back on track. I hope it's the last of many hurdles I've faced as a teenage girl.

Beauty isn't restricted to the physical appearance of another individual, although that's what the majority of this topic seems to want to focus on.

But the word 'beauty' itself encompasses more than that. You can think a portrait is beautiful; I, for one, don't want to have sex with a painting, but I can still call it beautiful.

Try to be more definitive, people. lol.

I miss the point in this. How does beauty ruin your life when you were really just ignorant of your true circumstances? Being attractive or beautiful doesn't make you a victim if you have the common sense to reflect on your actions and who you really know. If your friends were real friends, they wouldn't ditch you out of jealousy just because you were getting some and they weren't-- if that was the case they shouldn't have been considered your friends in the first place. Now if you were whoring yourself out, that just tends to piss everyone off so I wouldn't blame them. You didn't want to make yourself look like a play-thing, yet you were constantly being mixed up with guys that were just rushing sex. Didn't you notice a pattern, and decide "Hey, maybe I should look for someone who wants to talk before undoing my pants."?

    xD, sorry to trick you.

I liked being the girl, though.

Oh, god, what does this mean?!?

And for my actual thoughts on beauty; whatever. I mean, as long as the girl doesn't have one arm and a tumor on her belly button then if she's nice it's alright.

I do prefer the ones with "beauty" though.

Never mind, it's a meme. What I was implicating was, "Did you copy paste that from somewhere?"
