BBS2? Lost Game?

Hey i know it's been a while, but when Birth by Sleep came out, maybe even after BBSFM there was a lot of talk about a possible BBS2 game. Like a full out game based on BBSFM, SPOILERS: The final chapter after you beat everything, you play as aqua in the Dark realm. People said it was highly possible they'd make a game like that, seems like it never happened, or never will :C Just curious to see any input on it cause it seemed like a good psp game...

 

This is just a guess, but I think they might be saving BBS V 2 for Kingdom Hearts 3.5. From what I have seen, we have 1.5, with FM, COM, and a cinematic 358/2 Days. 2.5 is going to be II FM, BBS FM, and a cinematic RE:Coded, now if this holds true, I am guessing that 3.5, will be DDD, KH III, and a cinematic BBS V 2. Just a guess, but tell me what you guys think.

 

Their main goal right now is KH3. i cant see it any differently except for the fact 2.5 is comming, but they also stated that 2.5 wont take as long as 1.5 because someone lost all the original everything from KH1 so is essence kh2.5 will be alot less time consuming and be better off being worked on the side. KH3 is def their main goal, after seeing everyones reaction to the trailers.

 

It doesn't need to exist. We know what we need to know. The details of what she did in there are irrelevant, because the bottom line is all she did was wander around.
Besides, if it was made that's wasted effort that could be used to make something worthwhile.

 

BBS V2 was quite a cliff hanger for them to jsut drop
but it does look like that's exactly what happened.

Yeah, there's been a lot of talk over the years about what that ending refers to... personally, I've always thought it might just be referring to Birth by Sleep Final Mix as a second 'volume.' I think that's the most reasonable explanation, without assuming that maybe they were planning a title that got canned (or that hasn't been announced yet).

There have been rumors that there will be a KH title for this upcoming generation that isn't KH3, so I suppose that opens doors for a title that follows Aqua's time in the Realm of Darkness. Personally I love Aqua (who woulda guessed), so I'd gladly play a game like that, but I don't know how much can be done with it. It'd definitely be interesting to learn more about the Realm of Darkness and what Aqua has faced within it, but I just really don't see them dedicating a game to it.

Like others have said, I think KH3 is probably top priority, especially considering Square's financial situation. It seems to me like they want to push out the dependable, juggernaut titles they know will sell well (KH3 and FFXV) or mini-games with micro-transaction opportunities.

Could be, then. If that's the case I doubt we'll get anything about it now that KH3 is official.

 

i'm thinking the Volume 2 was that whole secret ending section. Nomura referred to that section as a secret ending that was playable. though, i'm glad they didn't make an entire game out of Aqua's time in the dark world, i really don't see how much material they could've had for that.

 

If Nomura said that they had a game planned, fine, but I doubt it. They would have been stretching to make it anything at all.

 

It's occurred to me that most comments think they couldn't make a game out of it. As much as I want there to be one (It's a neat concept.) People are right when they say it's impractical: even if they did go through Aqua discovering all these possible secrets, we would then be back at the end of the secret movie of bbs... where Aqua knows nothing. So I have the next best thing as a theory: a phase of game play in 3. Not entirely likely, but consider if it were a point in the game where players once again personified Aqua traversing through the realm of darkness. Only this time, we learn something we didn't already know to an extent. Perhaps finally explore the End of the World again. It hasn't been a level since the first KH after all. Of course, I have no actual reason to believe this will happen, but it's a nice thought for me.

 

I could VERY easily see Aqua being used as the Roxas or Destiny Islands of KH3
I mean, they need some excuse for why you can pick a shield staff or sword again, Aqua's as good of a choice as any

 

If memory serves he didn' t specify it would be a game, at least not in any interview I read (which led me to speculate it might be a movie at the time), he only said he definitely has a BBS2 story in his head.

Whatever he dished out I just can' t imagine it not being ten times more relevant than ReCoded. Besides, it doesn' t have to be about the Xehanort arch.

 

I disagree. BBS did a fine job of covering all of the immediately relevant history of KH and showing the ties the characters have. I can't imagine what BBS2 would have had that we would benefit from knowing, much less need to know. Unless it covered the Keyblade war stuff and that era, in which case yeah, we need that. But since we're more or less guaranteed to get some kind of detailed report about that era (I would think), I doubt BBS2, a game or whatever it would have been that never got past the idea phase, would be the game dedicated to something so important.

 

I dunno, the trailer had some implications to it. Like that castle. Was that the Enchanted Dominion? That alone brings up questions I want answered

 

Yes, me as well. Still, I'm not sure that shot wasn't added prematurely based on the assumption they would have made another game and should be forgotten.

 

Eh, I'm sure whatever plot elements they had planned will be incorporated on some level in future games. Probably KH3

 

true, but by the same tought 358/days didn't need to exist as well, we knew everything that we should about Roxas/Axel by the end of KH2, and also it takes the "awe" factor away of "why I am not playing with Sora" if you play 358 before KH 2..
