Battle of the Kingdoms

King Markus grunted. "They seem to have finally gotten smarter after twenty years." King Markus laughed at his own insult. Rey rolled his eyes as he just waited for somebody to recognize he was in pain and slowly dying without the help of poison.

 

Kathy was still trying to think of what to do. She searched through the medicine bag until she found a small bottle of medicine. "This should help it a little more..." she said and started to apply the medicine.

 

Sir Walsh scouted the area while Katherin tended to Rey's wounds, "hmm....so apparently they are expecting us...." he said looking around, "even if they don't have a lot of soldiers around...."

 

"OW OW OW!!!" Rey yelled. The medicine stung.

 

Kathy nodded and saw that the medicine was working. She took out the bandages and began to wrap it around his wound. "I don't have the right tools to remove the bullet... but the medicine should cancel out the poision... so it will last until we return..." she said.

 

Rey tried to stand up, but fell over again, clutching his side in pain. "I should've stayed back." Rey said weakly. King Markus looked at Rey with an inquisitive look. "But it's your step sister we're saving!"

 

Kathy finished bandaging his wound and looked at the king. "Sir... I highly suggest that somebody stay behind with Rey until he heals a bit... or send him back to the castle... he really shouldn't continue with that wound..."

 

"But he'll die if we leave him behind." King Markus said, referring to assassins.

 

"That's why somebody must stay behind with him..." she said. "He'll also die if he comes with us... we can't take that chance... what do you suppose we do? It's your call, sir..." she said and put the supplies away.

 

"How about, since you guys want to move on so badly but I'm getting in the way, how about, to please both sides, I go ahead alone?" Rey said, startling King Markus.

 

Kathy stiffled a gasp. "I don't mean to be rude, sir... but have you gone mad?! You'll be killed for sure!" she said, worried.

 

Rey gave a wry smile. "Yeah, I guess I am." And with that, he pulled himself up onto his horse and rode off. King Markus was instantly following him.

 

"Theres no doubt they are going to get themselves killed...." Sir Walsh said walking up behind Katherin, "they have ok swordsman skills but not good enough....especially not by themselves...." he sighed getting on his horse, "shall we go after them my lady....." he said slowly riding off.

 

"Yes... they won't be able to survive with Zinchuri soilders lurking about..." she said and quickly jumped onto her horse. "Yes... we shall..." she said and rode after him.

 

"Rey, STOP!" King Markus shouted. All he got in response was a gunshot from Rey that stopped him in his tracks. "You think I'm gonna' get killed? Don't forget 'dad', I'm a better sneak than you think. I spent eight years as a thief and made a damn good amount of money off of it, don't you think I can bust out my stepsister?" Rey smiled. He held up the bullet he shot. It was the one that had hit him. King Markus was surprised.

 

Katherine continued to ride after the prince. "Prince Rey... stop!" she shouted. "You may be strong... but you cannot survive out here with those injuries..."

King Markus held up a hand to stop Sir Walsh and Lady Katherine. "Did anybody else know Rey has been a thief for eight years? HE might be able to sneak in by himself. But I won't put my hopes into it..."

 

"Sir... with his injuries we shouldn't let him go any further by himself... what if something happens?" she asked.
