Arkham Asylum and City are on my to-get list of games when I buy a ps3.
This is nice yet frustrating. Good to see another one, yet frustrating that I have to buy another.

It's also kinda annoying that they are making another game that is Batman. I would love to see the same team make other super-hero games of this level.
When are we going to get a good Superman game?

Have to agree. Batman's my favorite superhero (well, tied with Iron Man), but he's been getting way too many big releases I think.

I still am looking forward to Arkham Origins though, and I totally called it that the next title would be a prequel, because of...what occurs in Arkham City.

And I hope that besides Deathstroke, we'll get some battles with Hush, Calendar Man, and maybe Man-Bat?

Oh man, I thought that was Slade for a second. :c

But yaaay for another one. Kinda disappointed that it's a prequel rather than a sequel, but alas I shall get my hands on a demo very soon.

Whoo, pretty excited for this. Though I still haven't played the other two, I have them on my cart. Simply waiting for an excess of funds before buying them.
A young Batman seems pretty awesome. Glad to see Black Mask being used and I like the whole him + assassins route that they're going. From what I've read from the two games, Roman Sionis was likely the Black Mask in Asylum and City (though I could see Jeremiah Arkham being taking his role as the second in City). Either way, I' a big Sionis fan (haven't read much with Arkham) so this will be interesting.
Slade is Deathstroke. Deathstroke's real name is Slade Wilson. I'm guessing you know him from Teen Titans? The show didn't want to use a character with the word "Death" in it because it wasn't considered very kid-friendly. He is genuinely an amazing character. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...=mu9YTDip2u_TYAFR3Qoheg&bvm=bv.44990110,d.eWU

Yeah, I knew all that lol. I was introduced to his character through the TV show and then took up the comics, so forgive me if I used his more "kid-friendlier" name. From the glance at the cover, I just immediately thought of him.

Oh but now that I actually inspect the cover, I guess it is Deathstroke there, isn't it? Ack, I'm afraid I'm not good at picking out the characters as well in newer designs. .-.

I'm...not sure what you're asking? Or I may be reading your posts wrong. It's not either Slade or Deathstroke, it's both since they're the same person. Unless you're asking if they're using a "Slade" version or "Deathstroke" version, then it's still the same person. According to the first post, he's going by Deathstroke, though a lot of people call him "Slade" or "Wilson" because his identity isn't secret. The only versions of him that's are ONLY Slade and not Deathstroke is in TT, Crisis on Two Earths (where he was a good guy and the President, thus has no alias), the show Arrow though that takes away the 'super' from heroics and villainy, and Smallville (where he's a US general in the army with no other identity, though he did use the phrase "Death's stroke" as a reference). The newer designs for him are a little bad, at least in comics, but I'll reserve judgement on the game's design for him until I can see a fuller picture.

Yeah, what I meant was Slade Wilson/Deathstroke is going to be a main antagonist based on what I see on the GameInformer cover photo. I assumed it was Black Mask since I skimmed the summary in the topic post but now realized it kinda didn't look like him at all. I haven't watched Arrow or Crisis on Two Earths so I didn't really know that he had a separate name entity for him as just Slade Wilson.

    Sorry if me using the names interchangeably confused you. .__.;

Well, guess I shouldn't be so surprised that they're making another game, although it's strange that it was made by another company, as well as being years before. I mean, if it's Origins, would that mean this game is going to be what leads to Arkham being built?

Well Black Mask appears briefly at the beginning of Arkham City, and from character bios and in universe stories, Black Mask is referred to be Sionis if I remember correctly. Then again, since this takes years before the first game, could mean Arkham was head of the institute instead of Quincy Sharp and was Black Mask on the side. Either way, I decent villain to have at the helm, a more grounded criminal instead of a purely insane character would be interesting after having dealt with th e more flamboyant criminals in the last two games.

Arkham Asylum has been around for a century or two if I remember, but I know it is definitely older then Batman, ha. It could mean that this is the first time Arkham properly becomes an institute for the more over the top and villainous criminally insane. Or it could refer to just Batman's origins as being a more inexperienced detective and crime fighter.

Ok, so... It has Black Mask. And that there masked feller on yonder magazine cover appears to be Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. It has Black Mask and Deathstroke. I may actually have to buy this.

Little disconcerted at the fact Rocksteady's not working on it, because I love them and I trust them. But if they're not working on it because they're working on something else, I think I'll live.

Also if the grappler is described as being like Just Cause 2, I fully expect to be able to skydive without a parachute and grapple the ground to cancel all fatal momentum, landing unscathed.

I like the look of the game, the storyline seems interesting, too. I'm not really interested in the Batman Arkham series, but this might convince me to give it another shot.

Ugh I can't get over how good Black Mask looks. If they're setting out to make him as memorable as the Joker or Ra's al Ghul, they're definitely on the right track.

And is that second screenshot of a pre-disfiguring-injury Penguin? Very interesting. Wonder if he's going to get it during the course of the story.

From what very little I remember of Penguin, he was mercilessly bullied after his disfigurement. Hence the reason he became a villain, one of the probably many origins for the Penguin. Maybe he'll be an actual protagonist or neutral at least until the disfigurement. It'd be an interesting twist in the game, just throwing it out there. It is an interesting development though.

I think he was always kind of a jerk, it's just that the injury pushed him over the edge. But somebody had to have a bone to pick with him to shove a glass bottle into his face to begin with.

What I'm wondering is who that's supposed to be across from him. It's not Bruce, is it? He looks so shrimpy, and... baby-faced.
