Why isn't there a thread about this already? Do watch it as soon as you can. Like, right now. This coming from someone who has seen Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, and Serial Experiments Lain and loved them all. You can find it legally on Hulu here. See below for what I believe is a valid visual representation.

This series gets a ten out of ten from me until I see something that tops it, which I do not think will happen in my lifetime. That is not to say that it is my favorite series, but it is on par with my favorite in several aspects. Allowing for the impossibility of perfection, I give it a 9.9. It is that good. You will not hear a negative thing about it unless it is from trolls.

Baccano! was a real great anime. Astonishing, and mind-blowing, pretty much a must-watch anime indeed. I recommend it with the thousand suns.

Ryohgo Narita is a genius for making such a unique series like Baccano!. Like Makaze, I can't find something negative or something I don't like about the show. The way that the anime adaptation is presented in an anachronic order also makes the whole show a very interesting and rewarding watch if one pays attention. My favorite thing about Baccano! though would have to be the characters. All of them are well written and a majority of them are awesome to say the least. I only wish that the light novel series would get an official translation.

This needs more love. WHERE IS THE LOVE.

Not many writers can throw together a cast this big and make nearly every character memorable and unique. The choice to break them into several distinct communities is what makes it stand out, in my opinion; every group of characters is intense and driven, generating interest to see the interactions of the select few who cross between groups.

Yeah, I guess I am most impressed by the character dynamic. The sheer density of "F#$@ the police"-type characters is right up my alley, too. I'd recommend it to anyone who... uh, is breathing. It's got mafiosi, it's got alchemy, it's got immortals, it's got serial killers, it's got a prohibition-era Robin Hood duo. What's not to like?

Hell yes, Baccano owns, and Rail Tracer is probably one of my favorite characters in any anime.

The whole sideplot about the sister's search for Dallas kind of pissed me off, though. They spend so much time on it, and it's just anticlimactic as hell.
